I've been arguing with this guy at another forum. He's your typical right-wing nut, and I don't think he's trolling. He holds pretty much the expected views, such as ignoring any data that suggests any sort of institutional racism in gov't policy and policing, being against same sex marriage, and so on.
In a thread he casually mentions that he's married to a black woman, and then complains that if he ever says anything about black people he'll be called racist, despite the fact that most of what he says typically is. Since the thread was on SSM, I mention that 48 years and one month ago, it would have been illegal in his state (WV) for him to be married to his wife, and that there were plenty of people who were using the exact same arguments (including Biblical) that he has used to rail against SSM. He responds with something like whether you believe me or not, if it was illegal, I wouldn't do it.
What the hell do you even say to something like that? Well gee, so you're so beholden to your views that you would just turn to your wife and say sorry, I can't be married to you because of this archaic law that would deny rights to two consenting adults who are harming nothing except the feelings of fundamentalists like ourselves, but I love you anyway.
