Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Tbh I've played matches with you and your lag-fu but I didn't notice anything tonight.

interesting, the couple of GAF games I played yesterday at around the same time were quite lag-free for me as well, or at least I thought so. I should play more often in the morning

Europe? Yeah, you didn't seem to have any more lag than anyone else tonight.

i love ranked, but i can't play that fucking mall ranked. I'll pop a vein or something

I know this feel, brother. I know it.

I can see how the map is good. In fact, I think the map is a great layout. However, fuck if I would vote for it to show up if given the chance.

Sure, if I was the Hulk. =P That's a 36" CRT TV, while the 19" is an LCD SDTV. The room the 36" is stored is is being used for storage and is not in an ideal location for Wifi.
36" CRTs can be moved with help. If it has component support then that would probably be the best solution if you can get both permission and the help needed to do so. You want like component or at least S-Video so shit doesn't blur together, though.

My 4 (almost five year old) nephew came over tonight from out of town.

First words, "Are those splatatoon amiibo?!"

Proceeds to grab the gamepad, get the game running and start playing.

And he wasn't half bad! 400-500 turf war points, could splat, decent maneuvering.

Seems like Nintendo nailed it where an almost five year old can be somewhat competitive in casual playlist play.

Two things:
1) He used motion controls
2) Mained rollers

I got 2 questions as i am consdering to get this game:

- How is the SP for this game? Worth it or just an afterthought?

- Is it possible to play matches online over local co-op (one has the screen while the other uses the pad and then go online in a team) ?

The SP is a few hours long, but it's definitely not an afterthought. It's similar to playing Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

No to your second question.

Also I love your username.

You don't always lag when I play with you. There are occasions where you do teleport, but I don't think I have the right to complain if I jump into your room. I'd probably say you lag about 20% of the time we've played together, and most of it came when Splatoon first came out.

hm, maybe the LAN adapter helped a bit after all. It always depends on the other player as well - on the rare occasions where I splat you, the splat symbol normally shows up with no delay, but with DaBoss or Blue for example there's often a 1+ second delay and I'm getting corner-shot too. Don't even get me started on Japanese players. And I'm now starting to suspect the time of the day when I play might also influence the lag

oh well, just a couple more weeks of this nonsense

Yeah I only play ranked when certain maps are up too. I learned yesterday to not play on blackbelly skatepark because the layout really does not lend itself well to the duel squelcher's playstyle; too much close quarters shootouts. And I've only played ranked on port mackerel once and I don't think I'm quite ready to try that again

Aye, as a roller specialist I avoid Arowana Mall. It's a sniper paradise and you just can't sneak up on them.

Edit: How does one get a splatfest t-shirt? I thought voting got you one.

For the folks who still play ranked (I get the fleeting suspicion some folks in this thread don't, and that's fine), do you play in long sessions or not?

I play ranked as long as I am breaking even on wins. When I lose two in a row I stop playing because that two will turn into nine real quick. I don't mind losing in Turf War at all, but losing in ranked pisses me off :p

I'm at rank B right now but have been as high as one win to rank A. Doubt I'll get high again any time soon though.

It does but for whatever reason it gets added to the back of your inventory.

Alright, 60" TV is available. Let's see how this plays. Going Nozzlenose. =D

I sometimes get the delayed splat icon on my end vs you. There's also been times where it was instant.

Edit: Oh wow, I can read names and text again. =D I started launch week and the week after with the 42", but had to switch. The 60" looks nice.

Edit 2: I realize I originally said the other TV was 47", but it's actually 42". The 47" got replaced by the 60" because the inverter died and I was too lazy to fix it. Costco warranty FTW.

I don't even know if those are still cheap. Besides, the 36" is best left in there for now.

I mean if you're going around scoring 27-5 you should be ranking up pretty steadily. I consider myself fairly mediocre and I'm at A-.

the fuck

You're inhuman

When you're really good, the opponent team is kind of okay, and your teammates are awful

You can only compensate for bad teammates so much. When it's effectively 4 vs 3, your team is at a huge disadvantage just based on how much ink you can put out in a given time. The map that time was the skatepark w/ the two splatzones so I couldn't be in 2 spots at once :-/

As for the score, yeah, until I got to the B ranks, that was pretty typical. I mean that was by far my most extreme match, but still pulling loads of 14-1 and similar all the way up.

Prob is now that losing axes 12 points and a win gives only 10. T.T

wait, I want to retract my previous post - every time I killed you it was always instant and there was absolutely no lag, even when I hit you from impossible angles. I'm just that good

If you have $350 to spare, you could buy the 50 inch tv that I use. The only downside is that the company is located in China and has no brand recognition here so you probably can't resell it when you want to move to 4k in the future. I think it's a really good tv, I could provide you a link if you're interested.

Also if you're wondering who Seabies is that's a friend of mine I was originally joining, I think you joined me while I was waiting to join him
He keeps killing me with inkzooka.
Last round I kept escaping from kraken and then getting inkzooka'd immediately.

by the way, this was probably posted but japan's next Festa is Udon v Soba (they're types of noodles)

they come with free advertising (actual brands)

my amiibo prediction has not yet come to pass, but I wish to offer a new prediction:

COKE V PEPSI

I'm good for now. Thanks. =D
