Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I got 2 questions as i am consdering to get this game:

- How is the SP for this game? Worth it or just an afterthought?

- Is it possible to play matches online over local co-op (one has the screen while the other uses the pad and then go online in a team) ?

I just beat single player a couple of days ago after putting in 45 hours in multiplayer. It's only 5 or 6 hours long but well worth it IMO. It was the best Nintendo single player game I've played in quite some time. It was a bit easier for me because some of the levels in the single player are multiplayer maps so I knew exactly where to go in some specific levels.

It's a fun game with somewhat challenging platforming combined with the shooter aspect. The game oozes style from its graphics, soundtrack and even characters/bosses.

Pick it up.

Splatoon can make one's blood boil so hard, which makes you play even worse. It's frustrating when you play bad, which turns this scenario into a catch-22. The worst part is that I feel like the weak link, bringing everybody down and that it's my fault, which ends up putting pressure on me and makes me play worse, and I have no clue why my brain thinks that way. ... Oh well, just gotta learn to play smarter. That 3-day losing streak on both modes gave me horribad habits.

I keep losing all map awareness whenever my Bomb Rush is up, lmao
I fall victim to that occasionally. Just gotta keep an eye on the special gauge. When it gets low, try to find a way to get map awareness back. BTW, GGs earlier.

he worst part is that I feel like the weak link.

I think Splatoon is one of the few online games that actually doesn't make me feel this way.

In most shooters I do feel like this because everyone is just so good. But in Splatoon I always feel I'm doing something for the cause, because I'm always spraying paint somewhere.

I was typing up another paragraph on the issues I'm having, but I'd rather not continue on that subject. It's just strange that I feel this way, especially since the Testfires were the most fun I've had with gaming in years.

I also had an Aerospray user 2-shot me every time, which is when I noticed I was no longer having any fun tonight. =/ At least I was able to end the night with a win.

Arts for Splatfest in Japan.

Then someone did this.

Are the buffs/nerfs in the game now in effect? Because I swore that the squid beacons were permanent until destroyed. Now they're one time use only. Or am I mistaken?

by the way, this was probably posted but japan's next Festa is Udon v Soba (they're types of noodles)

they come with free advertising (actual brands)

my amiibo prediction has not yet come to pass, but I wish to offer a new prediction:

COKE V PEPSI
Neither

How about sprite

I don't think they will pit actual brands against eachother, I don't see a company agreeing to that. It'll be products from the same brand, lol. That said, I would love to see a Heinz ketchup versus mayo in EU.

Just reached lvl 9, and have my eyes on the blaster weapon. Seems to be the closest thing to a shotgun, which is my jam. Is this the only one, or are there blaster varients later too?

Yeah this is why I'm still kind of wary about joining gaf rooms because even when I'm getting good points with a positive K/D it often feels like I'm still the worst player in the room and I'm not sure exactly how much I'm contributing. Constantly running into DaBoss during matches yesterday and getting killed by the inkbrush in ways I didn't think was possible probably doesn't help lol

There's several choices of blasters.

Don't forget using the rollers as shotguns. Especially the Kraken Roller which has long range and power.

yeah same here haha

gaf rooms are the real deal

Played a fun ranked match on the Skatepark last night, other team had a lagging Japanese roller who could capture one of the zones before you released what was happening. Then there was a good Japanese sniper with the E-Liter 3K who was lagging just enough to where they could snipe you before you even knew you were getting aimed at.

We were down basically the whole match and I was irritated at the people lagging. Didn't play well overall (8 kills, 11 deaths), but got on a roll at the end and we ended up coming back and winning in OT. Was running back and forth in a loop between each zone and the middle. Once we had pushed them back I was just inking the heck out of the zone on their side of the map for the last few seconds to keep them from capturing it.

They always were one use only.
I was under the impression that they lasted through a few uses. It's why they turn from green to red (icons on the map) as people use them.

Do you guys seriously encounter lagging players that often, or does it just seem that way because this is the forum for people to complain about it. I've only seen a handful (maybe six?) of truly lagging players in my ~60 hours of online play.

I love splat zones on the skatepark for this reason

just circling around both zones, going up the middle real quick, diving off and merging when you hit the ground, then back to circling

so hype
