Well, Japanese devs don't care because they don't have to care. Their market tolerates it to a decent degree in the mainstream and games are generally like wish fulfillment so folks aren't going be up in arms unless it was something mega serious. JP society is generally more accepting of sex as a part of life helps a bit as well, though it's gotten a little more conservative in recent decades. The other side of Japanese being a bit more liberal with it is that Japanese gaming has been ahead of the curve for ages. There have been of strong female characters and female leads from Japan since the beginning of the videogame industry.
 
I miss 3rd Strike dashes.

Average forward dash length-
3s: 17.2 frames
SF4: 19.3 frames

Makoto's dashes in 3s: 11/12 frames
Makoto's dashes in SF4: 16/27 frames

Ken's dashes in 3s: 16/13 frames
Ken's dashes in SF4: 18/27 frames


Goddamn do I miss fast backdashes.
 
People at Capcom thought Birdie was a cool design, odds are the new characters will look pretty whack. I guess I will just play Ryu.

We don't know the story yet so lets wait before with label how the other characters will look like. I think the characters will look extremely unique and play differently from the rest of the cast if the new characters that were brought into the SF series in SF4 (aka Hakan, Juri, etc.) are used as an indication. Capcom knows how to make cool characters.

What fighting game do you play then? I can't imagine you play SF or Mahvel.
 
This Siliconera shit is hilarious. Step 1 - pick two of the characters from a recent, super fan-wishlisty-looking cast rumour. Step 2 - write a nonchalant article confirming from "sources" that its happening. Step 3 - repeat, evidently.

Hope it happens just to see the people bitter that fan polling does not directly correlate with development decisions flip.

Siliconera is pretty legit with rumors. Hope it's all true, especially Mika. I loved her in alpha, even if she wasn't very good. I think they'd put the work in to make her legit in SF5.

I stopped playing Xrd because it's not much new, really. It's like going back to Tekken 3 after playing TTT2.

To be honest with you, it's been a long time since a fighting game "clicked" for me. Persona and Guilty Gear are pretty fun, but no one around here really plays anime games. Since my internet is walled off I can't really play online with anyone :v
I'm trying to get into Street Fighter 4, but until then I'll just sit back with Project Justice and Darkstalkers.

They are pretty legit with rumors, yeah. Stuff from nailing Dead Rising 3's setting to FF7 Remake anouncement.

We have it on a net city and nobody will play it with me. The knowledgeable players don't wanna eat Momo loops and unblockables, the not so ones see the Dreamcast era aesthetics and instantly refuse :<
 
lol so i was in a yata match any my net dropped for the first time for like 3 minutes randomly.

the match paused and we both came back after my net came back up and finished the match.
 
Xrd's online was so frustrating. It was so hard just to jump in and find an online match. Then the ping indicator would lie to you. People would sit on cabs and never accept your fight request. I'd swing around to different regions but even if I found a room with players they were either all already playing, or AFK on a cab, or had horrible ping. Even though I tried all sorts of nonsense, I never did figure out how to start a ranked match and wait in training mode...

I can honestly say it was one of the worst online experiences I had in a while. I have no idea why they didn't just copy P4AU's matchmaking system.

Or, for the love of god, show numerical ping instead of this barely readable colored bar nonsense. You're already showing me frame delay on screen, just go the whole step and show me the real ping... ASW.

not every rumors tho. It's possible that source could fucking around with those editors. I would take them with grain of salts.

Yeah, not going to be claiming to play anybody until I see the trailers, but I'm hopeful.

If the leaks are true, the first 10 characters offers incredible variety of playstyles.
