Ryu and Ken still play more similar than differently. That is fine. This is the same company that put in 6 different Shotos in Vanilla SFIV and called it a day.

I'll be surprised if we don't end up with at least 4 on the initial release(Akuma is a given) plus a new Shoto.

Fair but in the case of netcode, I would say trust your own experience.

Namely free pre-order on amazon, access to beta. You can play it, see how crappy it is, make conservative extrapolations on possible improvements, reach your own conclusion.

Ken's face completely throws off the look. Needs to be changed stat. Not hot on the new costume/look but I'll take it over having the same red gi as before.

Moves look cool, his flame effects look absolutely spectacular, especially with the fire that raises from the ground every time he does a normal. Still think SFV does the EX colour over the characters better than any game has done it before.

New character looks like an Avatar. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Akuma with some more ornamental wear, the face isn't that far off, certainly closer than what we've seen change for Ken. Could be a Blanka clone or Blanka himself, another Evil shoto, or the new character. I don't put the likelihood of any of these higher than the others.

Ken broke the whole notion of there being only one shoto. And everyone in the cast for SFV so far is from Alpha 2. Cammy was added to Alpha 2 in later revisions, and it was implied that she's there due to popular demand as opposed to normal planning.

The face looked like akuma but did you see the braids and the shoulder pads? Then there is the new zealand stage and smaller things like not having red eyes, weird skin color and paint and showing his tongue, in general it screams new character from new zealand. No way it is akuma.

That was probably a legitimate concern, cause Roy was the original Marth clone, but it made sense to think they were going to change him since they couldn't port him from Melee, they might as well change him up.

I think Roy is as exciting as a box of rocks, but I'm pleasantly surprised with his design in Smash 4.

Ken looks like a character more suited to the pace and style of SFV than Ryu does. He looks more fluid and quicker where as Ryu still feels sluggish.
