Console wars made us ready for this.Lol at getting excited about music coming to a streaming platform exclusively. This is getting sad.
Wait, why would you be excited about a music streaming exclusive album? We gonna start having streaming service fanboys now?
I don't think that word is in Huelen's vocabulary.Seriously. What am I reading? I'm hoping these people are being sarcastic.
Platform exclusive music continues to be weirdest thing but yay new M.I.A.
And I wont listen to it. If this continues I'll just return to pirating, like I did way back when.

She has no reason to lock into one streaming service besides them paying her label to do just that. It doesn't benefit her fan base at all.I don't see what the big deal is. She owns the content. She gets to decide how to distribute it to.
Not even comparable to most console exclusives, where the console manufacturers fund or even develop in house the IPs. Apple doesn't do that for music artists as far as I'm aware.

Doesn't mean that it can't be criticised for being b.s. Nobody is gonna subscribe to 4 or whatever services to get the music they want they'll just pirate it.What did people expect with competing streaming services? The fact that you don't actually own the content pretty much guaranteed this, IMO.
For me it's pretty damn shameful coming from MIA specifically. For those crying foul, what is technically the difference between this and an MTV exclusive or radio exclusive premier? It's nothing new, right?

1 step forward 2 steps back everytime.Which just shows that record labels still don't understand how the internet works.

This is the same woman that used to be super fucking open about her anti-government, anti-corporate political sentiments.
