Also, with all this speechless lurking, i somehow forgot to pay my condolences too.
So... RiP Iwata-san.
You've lived a good life and i try not to be sad, but instead try to be happy with all the things that you've created. Just how you wanted it to be.
This will take its time to heal - for sure. I know i will always think of it for a couple of time, as soon as i play a Nintendo game... which will be nearly every single day. Thanks for everything.

I felt the same way until this. While I am not crying like some, I do feel sad, which is more than I can say for when some random celebrity overdoses or w/e. I guess it's because it is the first time someone that I have been following online has died. He's a very important figure in the industry so I can understand why a ton of people are reacting this way. For us hardcore gamers who are always browsing neogaf, people like Iwata, Miyamoto, Nomura, Shuhei Yoshida are basically immortal. This is an unfortunate reminder that that is not true.

Cancer (and other serious ailments) physically eats away at people, yeah. My mom's BF died of cancer a few years ago and I was shocked when I saw him for the first time after a few months away (was in university, couldn't see him until the end) and I was winded when I first saw him -- he had lost so much weight, the colour from his skin was gone, etc.
Same feeling kinda washes over me, looking at that picture of Iwata.

It was a thread shitting post regardless of gullibility.
It looks as though it were posted to insult the legacy of the man being remembered in this thread while blaming him for killing Yamauchi and in a round about way accusing Iwata of bringing about his own death by releasing the Wii U.
It was in exceptionally poor taste and just a long form version of the one sentence wonder from last page who's posts were mod deleted.

Now that I think about it, I think he knew this was coming at some point in the near future. I bet you he was doing a lot of work behind the scenes to deal with the eventuality.

It starts out nice, but don't get why they are trying to advertise.
Anyone else who grew up reading N64 Magazine must remember the "Yamauchi talks" section which had a demon Yamauchi with laser beam shooting eyes.
It was consistently hilarious. And terrifying.

Because it isn't a tribute. Its an advertisement targeted at people who are feeling loss and PETA is trying to capitalize on that loss.

This kind of makes me think why the DENA deal happened out of nowhere. If his successor had done this no way Nintendo fans would've accepted it and we would've thought it as shitting on Iwata's legacy.

What exactly is nice about that? It's a stupid typical PETA-esque advertisement. They're using Iwata's death to advertise their shitty parody games. About as cynical a "statement" as you can get.

So basically, he knew when he was diagnosed, his time was limited. In retrospect, a lot of the decisions he made during the last year are starting to make a lot more sense.

He was the epitome of what a president of a global company ought to be in my eyes, perhaps even the epitome of what a good person ought to be. I hope his legacy, in all these areas where he so excelled, lives on for many years to come.

His passion was beyond anything we can imagine. Amidst all of the sadness surrounding his death, I can say that I am truly grateful that a man like Satoru Iwata was able to live his dream to the absolute fullest. Very few are given the opportunity to turn their passion into a career and he did just that. Thats how he stood strong to the very end. Bringing entertainment and smiles to millions of people was his life.
