Suicide Squad Official Trailer Drop

He is absolutely the first to go. Second, I say El Diablo. Then Enchantress. Then Katana, then Croc (maybe), then Flagg (because he is obviously the real bad guy)

Naw.

1) Slipknot. Like, seriously. I am frankly astonished that all signs point towards him getting out of the briefing, but the moment shit gets real, he's getting the axe.

2) Croc. Might turn out to be faking his death, but he's going down early.

3) El Diablo. Goes out in a blaze of glory some time late in the second act. Total redemption = death deal.

4) Enchantress. After a whole movie of people doubting that she can really do magic, we get a demonstration. This lets her do the whole "set up Justice League Dark" thing, but she still dies anyway.

Can we all agree that Slipknot is the Milhouse of the group?

I had zero interest in this which has now been bumped up a good deal. I'm still confused as to why DC has decided to use a villain supergroup movie full of characters most have never heard of as one of the films tasked with getting the DCCU off the ground. Yes, GotG was a bunch of characters no one knew but at that point Marvel had gained enough of a reputation and we all knew it was connected to the previous films we loved. I'm even more confused why they would decide to finally use Harley in a live action film only to leave her most memorable characteristic, her accent, in the transition.

I don't get people complaining they don't know who anyone is in the trailer, so it fell flat for them. Have these people never watched an ensemble movie, that wasn't based off of a comic book?

Well, it makes since when you consider that one of the more exciting aspects of these comic book movies is that people get to see their favorite heroes and villains come to life. So in that sense I can see people having flatter reactions if they dont know or dont care for the characters.

"Here's the trailer we've been building hype for over the last several months. If you had any desire to see this before now, Warner Bros. would like you to know that we think you're criminal scum, perhaps similar to those portrayed in this film, only way less cool.

We'd say something like 'Enjoy' or 'Can't wait for the release,' but instead we want you to know how pissed we are that we had to let you see it.

You monsters.

Sincerely,

Warner Bros.

PS - We hope you understand that we'd really like to prosecute you, but won't because we're concerned you probably wouldn't go see the film then. Bummer.

We have instead now flogged half a dozen interns, as is customary."
Lol, saw this on Facebook. It was a response to WB explaining why they released the footage

Will Smith is in this, so none of this matters.

slip knot should totally have a dialogue like in the first boondock saints "what we need is some fucking rope."

The people complaining for the most part don't read comics though.

My guess is the studio was courting scripts and projects, Ayer showed interest in this, things got rolling and it started looking good, so they went with it. It will feature villains related to many DC heroes, so that's a plus. Maybe they feel it also sets a certain tone they want.

I'm sure they'd rather just have all their ducks in a row and be able to release a big, kick-ass Justice League movie first, but the cards just weren't dealt that way.

DC is almost as famous for their villians as they are for their heroes. This was a way to get Joker and Harley (and Will Smith as Deadshot) into the Universe as soon as possible rather than waiting until 2020 or whever the solo Batfleck film is slated to get off the ground.

The benefit of this movie is that it comes out literally months after BvS so when they movie is done it's full steam ahead on this movie.

The thing with this movie is that it could be a standalone movie. The only real connection is just Batman and the Joker. This movie isn't charged with getting the DCU off the ground. Batman V Superman is supposed to do that.

IMO this movie is like a complimentary piece. It's set in the same world but it kinda like it's own entity as well.

Not the best audio but she seemed to have the accent in the set footage which leaked earlier this year.

So, a few fun finds:

Failed escape attempt? Probably early in the film. Looks like El Diablo, but it could be Smith as well. Heavier build makes me think Diablo, tho.

I think it's likely we're getting some kind of origin montage, for Enchantress at least. Possibly a flashback as well.

Also Enchantress, in what looks like somebody's bedroom. Worth noting that it's the only other look at her that we get in the trailer, I think. You don't see her in any of the group shots either. Revised death estimate has her up towards the top on account of lack of footage.

Grabbed this one because I've got no idea how it ties in to anything. Don't even recognize the actress in that bit.

The chick in the cave is Enchantress

Looks like skulls are littering the floor in the right-hand corner. This could just be some exposition about someone stumbling into one of the villain's lairs. That may actually be enchantress.

Lol the actress is the same one who plays Enchantress. Looks to be the origin of her getting her powers since she is still blond in the cave shot.

I think that one is actually El Diablo being let out of a "solitary" cell. Since it's full of water, he can't ignite his fire power.

the actress in the last pic is cara develaigne or whatever, probably in the cave where she gets possessed.

Actress in the cave scene is Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). I can spot those eyebrows a mile away.

I love the fact that DC isn't going with a cartoony look to their films. There's something very compelling about seeing these comic characters existing in a world that seems real.

Is Katana performing seppuku in one of the shots?

Sticking with her dying.
Extended Batfamily character with absolutely zero use for the foreseeable DCCU future,
Killing her gives them an easy off that can affect Batman but has zero impact on potential future Batman movies.
Especially after the "good guys" line in the Batman v Superman trailer.

If Batgirl, Huntress, Canary seemed like a possibility then I could see them saving her for a potential Birds of Prey movie.

Never thought I'd say this but this trailer has me more optimistic for Suicide Squad than BvS at this point.

Damaged Joker looks better than Lex Luthor (really? Wtf?) And the tone of the trailer looks better than whatever BvS was trying to do. Maybe because the leaks from SS had me thinking Schumacher Batman and since I'm a big fan of Snyder that I thought things would make me feel differently but there it is.

BvS looks yo be another cool looking film that lacks substance (typical Snyder) and SS might actually surprise and be decent.

This shot is of Enchantress too (pre-powers), as is the scene with the couple I believe.

Oh, lol. Guess that answers that. Never seen anything with her in it before, so I'll have to plead ignorance on this one :P

That does raise even more questions about her role in the movie, though.

I think that one is actually El Diablo being let out of a "solitary" cell. Since it's full of water, he can't ignite his fire power.

Oooh, good thought. There's another shot of him summoning fire when surrounded by what looks to be rushing water, so maybe that's his breakthrough moment?

Not really interested at all in the whole "ooh dark and edgy" thing DCU seems to be going for to distinguish themselves from MCU. No chance of these being anywhere near as successful as MCU movies, they just don't look fun in any way, shape, or form.
