3DS Streetpass Experiences

I finally got my first Power Boost Skill on a rod.

Riverside Power Boost.

I guess they do exist! Found it on an Island I haven't been grinding on. Cutty's Cave on one of the Premium Islands when I was hunting a
Blooper
.

Gunna see if I can grind out one with an x+ Angler Power Boost somewhere to stick on the
UFO Rod.

On the Battleground Z scene I'm managed to complete all the colors of 10/26 weapons and 108/120 medals... Slowly on the way to 100%...

I'm on my second playthrough of monster manor.

Don't know how many puzzle boxes I have left, but I need a good 3 or 4 weapons left. Damn those last 2 tickets.

For puzzle boxes, you need two things:
People who own the game OR people who you've met before.

Owners will give you a box they've played before. Possible duplications.
Friends will always give a new one. No duplications until you finish them all.

Pay attention to WHICH people those are BEFORE going into the game.

Then place their pieces FIRST. Each one. Then IMMEDIATELY after placing their piece, make a chest. With luck, you'll easily get a box from them IF you don't team up.

Cleared the 5th island in the fishing game. Dropped about 140 play coins on it tonight since I was at max.

Think I'm going to set my other 3DS to a different state for the silver tickets so I don't have to spend 10 play coins to go there.

29 plaza tickets now and I never seem to get the stuff I want. Every time I check it's shitty old stuff that I don't want =/

Set yourself to have no state and you'll always get Silver tickets.

When you're done with the silver islands set yourself to Canada for the time it takes you to get the last island cleared.

Just set it to a different Country to begin with and you'll always get Premium Tickets and can go wherever you want.

Ohh, so you need a person to be on your friend list to be guaranteed a puzzle box? No wonder they're so tough to get. I've streetpassed a number of people twice or more (who didn't own the game) and managed to find them in a room, only for them to give me nothing but a few gems. Seems pretty unfair if you need a friend who doesn't have the game to get them consistently. If only you could hire old Miis instead of random cats.

By friend he means people you pass twice or more. It doesn't matter if you have them on your friend list or not.

I've never had someone I passed twice or more not offer me a puzzle box.

Huh, I guess it really would be a ridiculous requirement for them to be on your friend list.

But then that's strange because I am positive that for about five times in a row I have encountered random multiple-streetpass people who haven't given me puzzle boxes. :/ I'm certain that some of them didn't own the game.

It's not like I never get them though. The friend I streetpass the most gives me puzzles but they own the game so I cycle through the same ten puzzles. So I have no idea what's going on with everyone else!

This is good to know. Right now I just need the last ticket from the gold boxes, so trying to cover my current room in a single colour (doing the trick of outlining the area and then filling it in) to try and get one. After that, guess I'll be working on the puzzle boxes and using the above info. I think I have only around 20 to go.

I recently just got the "get all weapons" ticket so that's one thing less to worry about :)

Just got the last weapon I needed in Monster Manor. Now just puzzle boxes ticket remains, and I can vault it finally. First streetpass game I bought. Best one IMO.

I have some questions about homepass.

In the google doc is has PRIME MACs what are these exactly, are they official Nintendo relays or spoofs and why do they have suggested games and does that matter?

On the Nintendo zone page it lists 6 Nintendo World NYC access points. Im guessing these are legit Nintendo spots but there's a big red warning saying without the real SSID you wont pass with real people if you use attwifi. Does this warning apply to those 6 Nintendo world points or only the access points listed below it? Should you use NZ@McD1 or attwifi with these APs?

Last the first Nintendo world AP says "NDS-Guest". Is that the SSID for that AP or is there anything special about it since its highlighted?

Finally, got all 120 medals in Battleground Z... Now just getting every color for every weapon...

Should take just as long as getting A+ on every fish.

I have no idea how you get some of the perfect guard and/or Showdown medals.

Major props. My big claim is killing the final boss in such a fast time that I have something like an 80K score on the last level.

Practice makes perfect, I find. If anything, I usually miss out on the rare zombie ones since I'm not in the mood right now to look up on how to make them appear. Still debating if I want to get a perfect coin count on the game or not yet. I still have a ways to go. Well, at least I'll be at some big events for more street passes! Too bad I STILL haven't had a good team on Mii Force yet, but I guess what I can do for now is practice on the levels I mess up on/don't remember too well. Then when I get better on those, doing Arcade Mode SHOULD go a lot smoother!

I just use attwifi as the name and the prime MACs. The suggested games are to help people get those passes but it doesn't really matter. What is important are the MACs for color. You should make sure your Mii is the right color before using those.

Everything up until the last section is pretty much doable with one or two Miis. Each level generally takes a few runs. Its easier to get a medal or two at a time then go for all at once. The hardest stage for me was the damn frog boss. Couldn't for the life of me get the battery medal for the longest time.

Never had an issue with the bosses, but the perfect bus, gas station, and graveyard missions are the bane of my existence. Also, I think I'm stuck on the last two showdowns.

Any particular tips?

Also, for anyone curious, I find the Storybook charged shot, great against bosses.

Also, for those looking to get the Dont get toss out of the maze medal against the farmers, stand outside the maze and snipe or let a team Mii get bombed repeatedly and let the farmers take splash damage.

So... is Puzzle Swap no longer a thing? I'm still sitting at 1502/1502 pieces collected, and since the last major update there haven't been any more new ones.

Funny, I somehow got all 4 medals my first go at the gas station. I wasn't even trying for it; the rare zombie just conveniently appeared when I did my disco charge attack lol.

Anyways, for the bus and the graveyard, the best weapon to use is the go-kart, in my opinion. Does a ton of damage for a regular attack, and can even take down the giant hardhat zombies extremely quickly. Don't bother using its charged attack, though. For the spitting enemies in the bus level, either get a teammate or use a ranged weapon like the piggy bank or the toy cat/dog. Full-screen charge attacks always help, too.

Dat summer Nintendo drought (cause they'd rather be selling in the fall...) with not mcuh coming out. I'd expect at LEAST a few more puzzles within the next month or so. Yoshi at least, maybe Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and ummm... I dunno :x

Splatoon, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Mario Maker, SSB DLC, and Pac-Man seem like valid options.

We don't even have a Splatoon puzzle.
You'd think THAT would happen, but apparently not.
Last update was the second Monster Hunter puzzle in March & April (depending on your location). It's been three months Nintendo, give us some puzzles already.

Oh man... The Puzzle Swap panel I didn't even think about and now I need it...

I've been waiting two years for an ALBW puzzle

You and me both.

Everyone knows they can't release puzzles until after summer con season is done. Else you'd be able to FINISH a the puzzles. FRUSTRATION HO!

Haven't played fishing in weeks.
The majority of the fish I have left are 'bait-less' and I never have the chance of capturing them.
Seems really stupid to leave so many fish to chance.

If I have this right... you pass the same person 10 times for the chance of uncovering one.
If this happens, you then need a travel ticket.
Then you hope you have the correct bait.
Finally you have to catch it in one go, if you don't it'll be gone until you next pass somebody 10 times again.

This and locking off islands behind travel tickets are really bad ideas.
Might be the only Streetpass game I don't complete at this rate...

Hmmm... So, I realized I had 8 tickets left to get in Streetpass Birthdays and 4 left in Mii force. Which makes 12 Tickets total... but I have 13 Bubbles left to buy and 3 hats.

It didn't make sense to me since the math didn't add up. I went back to double check my other games.

Flower Town - 22/22
Warrior's Way - 22/22
Monster Manor - 22/22
Ultimate Angler - 22/22
Battleground Z - 22/22
Mii Force 18/22
Streetpass Birthdays - 14/22

They all seemed to check out.

Since, Puzzle Swap has no hats or ticket I figured I'd check out Find Mii... Apparently, I somehow missed 2 chests according to the new Helper Hare added to the game. That would deduct from the total hats I'm missing.

So, I still need to buy 13 Bubbles and 1 Hat with 12 Tickets... Math still doesn't check out though...

Edit: Found a list online and found the items I'm missing. Ahhhhhhhh, All three are suppose to be in Find Mii. I guess two are in the Secret Quest and the other is in the Second Quest.

Hats Needed:
  1. Soccer Ball Hat
  2. Swimming Cap
  3. Tiny Top Hat

Speech Balloons Needed:
  1. Starry
  2. Elegant
  3. Cute
  4. Bon Voyage
  5. Theme Park
  6. Scrapbook
  7. Lacy
  8. Stripy
  9. Polka Dot
  10. Checkered
  11. Isabelle
  12. Mahjong
  13. Playing Cards

So, I still need to buy 13 Bubbles and 1 Hat with 12 Tickets... Math still doesn't check out though... Only thing I can think of is maybe you get a bubble and hat for 100% completion. Unless I'm overlooking something again...

Well for one thing, you are missing the "Get every other ticket" ticket.

You only ne d tickets until you complete the island. You can cheat a bit by changing state then country.

Literally cannot get enough of Monster Manor.

I'm on my 4th playthrough now (still missing 1 ticket from a Gold Treasure chest) and it just never stops being fun. None of the other games have had anywhere near as much as appeal to me as this game.

The flower game is stupid, Mii Force was okay, but I had no desire to play any more of it after finishing it, and Warrior's Way just takes waaaaaaaay too long to make any progress.

Monster Manor and Find Mii though?
Can't stop playin' 'em!

I'm surprised you are still after that particular ticket; I had everything but the puzzle boxes halfway through my first traversal. It didn't keep my interest once I was done with that.

Of the original four expansion games, I was done with Warriors Way first. Passing (and beating) real people makes capping your army rather trivial. Flower Town had the most longevity for me, and it's the only one of the four I haven't vaulted.

Will probably vault Battleground Z once the tickets are done. I think of every game, it's my least favorite.

I haven't gotten into Battleground Z because it seems like a button masher to me. Maybe I'm missing something?

I remember not getting into Mii Force initially but then when I played it again a few months later, I got it and was hooked. It's still my favorite Streetpass game.

Lately, the only game I've been playing is the fishing game. It's slow going because I'm spending most of my free time with Majora's Mask.

I don't know how we're supposed to catch the super secret fish in the fishing game. Their health regens between trips? WTF?

Yeah, its easier post game after you've completed the all
9 islands
and maxed out the
final rod
. Even easier still if you've managed to find a bunch of power boosters of the same type and level them to Level 3.

I dont have enough materials to max out the last rod. Such a pain, but the game is oddly fun.

Thank god i haven't updated past 9.2 yet. Homepass is so easy and is a great help in a country where i have not seen a single 3DS besides mine...

I hate when I being my 3DS to a crowded place and find out after thatcI accidentally turned off the signal... Usually going to a Marvel movie (or a similar kind of crowd) nets me at least a couple...

Been so long since I've been out to any busy areas, but that should change soon. Especially at PAX.
