Fighting Games Weekly | July 20-26 | No Gods or Kings, Only Tears

Well...yeah. That is pretty widely known. I even introduced him to my wife that way. He goes around, asks to stay at people's places, and chills there while focusing on Marvel. Simple solution seems to be to not let him stay at your place, or work that stuff out ahead of time.

KBR winning Evo made people come out of the woodworks like family members after someone wins the lottery
If he was respectful about property and people I don't see why someone would have a hate crusade against him.

He ate their lunch and gave them a wedgie, in front of the whooole world

KBR is a good for nuffin bully

Thanks! The sound's pretty low tho :[

I already said I don't know anything :v I'm just saying if people don't like him and say so you don't gotta go in on them and ask for proof and dirt.

I just realized: Maybe these people are only nice to me because I control the brackets?

"I will say this, I know some people don't like KBR for personal reasons outside the game and I am not going to tell them to put that aside to congratulate him over a game."

I forgot the "teehee," but the point is made.

You said people you know and trust have problems with him, but you don't know what those problems are? Yet it is worth starting a conversation over?

Tell me that makes sense.

If you don't like someone, that is fine. If you go public about how you don't like someone, everyone is going to say "Why?"

At that point, you look like a jackass for saying you won't tell. Either tell a story, or don't bring up the fact that you have a story to tell.

Reminds me of this guy working at 7-11. He looks at me and my wife and says "Do you want to know how I lost my arm?" I didn't even notice it was gone, really. Out of politeness, I say "Sure." His response? "Fight for your country in a war, and then I will tell you".

Okay random guy.

MK was the second game aka the first game anyone actually gave enough of a shit to watch so they probably didn't have time before to adjust the sound properly.

"I will say this, I know some people don't like KBR for personal reasons outside the game and I am not going to tell them to put that aside to congratulate him over a game."

That's literally me saying I'm not going to give them shit for not liking him for their reasons. I said I don't know their reasons in a follow up post.

That's it.

I honestly didn't even know there were personal reasons for KBR hate until Anne brought it up. Most of the tweets I saw were either just blanket name calling or people shitting on his game play style/character choice.

MY mistake then. Most of the tweets I saw on my end were for those reasons and people were getting shit for them.

Consider the perspective of a top player. You don't gain much from playing with a lower level player that can't win games. There's a time and place for that but it's not always going to be at a major, where people are practicing for tournament matches or have limited time to play the few players at their own level. They're humans with their own priorities. Elitism when you're elite isn't always a horrible, unreasonable thing.

I've been in a "Elitism" group. It was at FIFA (I don't play the game anymore cuz it's so boring and random). Not the best of the best, but good enough to qualify for championship finals and be a threat to the top sometimes. Also being able to chat with top players from other regions and play them.

My experience it's as you say. It's not always been a dick. It's just that's not entertaining. It feels more like an obligation and at that point if you play casuals you want them to be challenging and entertaining.
At least in that case it wasn't a closed group. When people actually proved they were good they "entered the group". And even people that weren't that good were inside just cuz they were good people.

That been said, I was always open to give random people advice when they asked me for.

psst, hey, maybe people should be able to say how they feel about a person without their friends expecting them to divulge every detail

maybe that's part of how this whole trust thing works

This

(Also was nice seeing you again! Bacchanal was a shit ton of fun on Friday and we should definitely get a group for next year too if we can manage it)

Like, I understand the whole social media blurring the line between the personal and the public, to the public not privy to their personal relationships this is just a display of juvenile "asshattery" as you put it (which they are free to make, I'll just judge them from over here)

Are you ass at Xrd?

Uh, the typical trust thing is telling your friend the reason.

They don't state any. I don't know. It's not particularly important to me to find out really lol

This too ^
I am really suspicious of you and Smedwicks both posting like this and then clamming up.

I got nothing between Smed on this. Smed just quoted me lol

I just wanted to say "hey, there might be a reasons people aren't excited so don't go telling them they should be excited anyways".

Then GAF asshattery blew it up. I feel like I've been hella reasonable myself in just saying "Idk details, I just said respect a person's opinion cause you might not know".

I am hella suspect of Smedwicks, dude did a complete 180 personality flip right there. It almost felt like KBR killed his dog or something at EVO.

I just don't like KBR for personal reasons that I don't want to go into because of respect towards my friends if they don't want shit out in the air

I'll be happy to drop shit and cool off but I'm not gonna go into stuff

Inb4 more suspicion or "teehee"

FGC people only understand social interaction through blowups

"people have private interactions with other people"
"did they have a high stakes money match?"

TBH I only wanted to get into doa because it was "easy" tekken and the female cast.

Tekken just got to daunting for me. + getting older and all that stuff makes it hard to get into the game. Its why I prefer Soul Cal over tekken.

I really wanted to get into GG as well... but never had the time or I procrastinate to much. Not even sure who I would play since I never took GG serious. I want to learn elphelt but I think sol is more fitting for me.

Tekken is honestly different from all the other 3D fighters. VF, DoA, and SC are more "alike" with each other than they are with Tekken.

Tekken 7 is definitely aiming to garner interest for people like you that are daunted by the series. It's doing a lot of things to cater to newcomers.

Today, I learned that KBR does hentai translations.

I try my best not to be, but yes

edit: although, I'm heading to bed soon
Agh, are you sure? :p

Indeed.

Then GAF asshattery
You made a pretty big post that has amounted to "I know nothing, but I say something". Talk about asshattery.

I beat people in the arcades playing footsies marduk. I have zero idea what im doing. O and steve because back sways and shit.

Why are you guys going going in on Anne and Smed? Anne just said that they have friends who don't like kbr for personal reason but they don't know the reason why or care enough to know why.

Smed has personal reason that are tied to his friends and doesn't want to say the reason without their approval.

All they are doing is say that all the KBR hate isn't just about his gameplay.

Hey Q! Did you have a good time? I saw you during finals day just a tiny bit but I hope you enjoyed your time

How'd you do in your matches?

Wassap, brah. How was EVO?

I had a ton of fun.

Went 1-2 in smash Fuck yoshi

and 2-2 in xrd. Lost to a really bad ino so that was disheartening xD

My favorite thing this year was getting to hang out with Prototype-03 for the first time since we've been playing vs each other in almost every game every day for 6 years.

Then is it relevant? No.

It is, because people are trying to figure out why KBR is hated at the moment. That is the whole conversation that just happen. Need I point out the ricki comment?

edit
I thought the hate on kbr for his gameplay is straight up stupid. "Honest" marvel doesn't exist and people crying about it are stupid. But hey, maybe people have legitimate gripes against KBR and if so thats fine.

If you bring up a new subject, you should expect others to inquire further. Basic social etiquette. No one was talking about KBR's social worth until Anne and Smedwicks brought it up.

Might as well have a conversation like this:
"Hey, you know what?"
"No, what?"
"Haha, I'm not going to TELL you, silly!"

Sweet.

Wasn't Gamerbee's Elena awesome

The Winner's/Loser's/Grand Finals were my favorite matches of the night

Shame about Momochi's stick though, that really soured the mood a bit
