If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Just from reading the OP.

Taylor 1 : 0 Nicky Minaj

I like Nicky but this sound just bitter.

Girl having a surgery because of body image issue, promoting an unhealty body tipe at that too, lashing against a naturally skinny girl because of allegedly race issues? On a contest that will be probably be won by Lamar too.

Not to say this is literally us throwing money at thems acting like apes.

America please.

Nicki was just mad DAT ASS didn't get her any noms for her Anaconda vid, not like it even matters. Who the hell watches the MTV VMA's anymore? I had no idea they were still a thing. I remember way back when they had hosts who were funny and their awards actually seemed relevant to pop culture. Haven't these artists caught on that MTV is no longer a music channel?

I don't listen to T. Swift personally but its not hard to see she has way more talent than Nicki. Her raps are whack.

Lol no she doesnt.

Nicki gonna learn just like Azealia did. Never go after white people like this. Thread is a good example, you'll always come out the bad person.

I like how she deleted the tweet that started it and Is only now trying to make it a bigger issue. Taylor responded to the tweet specifically calling her out and diminishing her art just because she's a skinny white female (the only one in the nominees consisting of Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, and Kendrick Lamar).

Two publicists sat down, decided their contracted artists weren't getting enough exposure, so they constructed a Twitwar which escalated all over the internet and both artists were getting their attention-fix.

Amazing way to get people invested in the fucking VMAs of all things, too. Can't believe people still fall for this shit.

No different than 50 & Kanye back in 2007. But at least that was more about the music.

Well written response.

This. Who cares.

I thought Nicki Minaj had a false ass? So why complain about skinny women or whatever.

Man, I already had a good laugh when I read about the Katy Perry feud about some backup dancers that apparently led to Bad Blood. Love seeing these petty pop squabbles.

You're only seeing one side of the coin here - the other, according to my Twitter feed, is "yaassss, slay," "you come at the queen you best not miss," "don't gimme that shit that this nicki/taylor thing is 'for kids.' it's just more of the same white privilege and if you don't see it, fuck u," and that Minaj is a hero of the womanist revolution that will "crush white feminism once and for all." Yes, the corporate backed multi-millionaire in one of the most brutal times of wealth disparity in this country is the hero for social justice against the other corporate backed multi-millionaire.

I'm going to get real for a second - in advertising, we accept that you can't sell to everyone. You can't possibly get every single person in the world to buy your product, but you can grow and curate a loyal base of consumers loyal to your brand - and market competition is a healthy way to drive this loyalty. Frivolous Twitter feuds by multimillion megastars where neither one is a clear victor - one is co-opting social justice rhetoric because their streaming music service failed and they didn't get an award nomination, another is privileged little white bitch who needs to shut up and give up her spot to the queen - where the millions of fans get emotionally invested and tweet bullshit left and right, emboldening their loyalty to one star or another and will certainly help move product. There's now a feud with a potential for drama to erupt at the VMAs this year, and it's certainly going to get people tuning in to see if Minaj blows her lid at Swift, which will erupt in tweets and thinkpieces for weeks to follow.

I didn't even realise the VMAs were coming up this time yesterday, and now I know that they will, and there might be some "drama," a-la the Kanye/Swift drama, or Beyonce (who took $2mil from a regime that used chemical weapons on its own people) standing in front of big bold pink letters declaring herself a feminist (while having taken millions from a regime that gassed women and children with money-colored chlorine gas) that the awards don't matter anymore - it's the spectacle, and getting people to tune in is a massive moneymaker for MTV and the artists involved.

Great viral marketing campaign. Shame on people who treat this at all like it's a legitimate conflict. The quicker you tune out of this sort of celebrity hogwash the happier you'll be.

Nah, that's just dumb. This isn't manufactured.

Are we going to act like Kendrick isn't the new running joke on white media apologizing for their fuck up? Let's not. Kendrick at this point feels like the token black guy they have to acknowledge because he's so progressive. Plus Taylor Swift, go figure. Bruno is a whole different beast but he isn't Hip Hop like Kendrick is. At the end of the day, she made a point that having a type of women is also always accepted in media and in award races than anything else. I do agree that Kendrick does have the best "legitimate" video out of the rest but these are all still based on popularity at the end of the day.

I'm done. It must suck to be so obsessed and disillusioned with race and use it as a crutch in every possible way.

Nicki Minaj is a two-faced bitch lol saying in her main tweets why media isn't writing about her saying she loves Taylor, meanwhile in her favorites she's favoriting tweets calling Taylor a shady cunt.

Taylor shouldnt've got involved (even though the tweet she replied to was Nicki skinny-shaming, Nicki since removed that tweet and made it out to be a racial issue which is not at all what Taylor was responding to) but Nicki is handling it terribly, constant favoriting and retweeting the shadiest shit (Taylor never even followed you too, so idk why she liked that tweet about her unfollowing) and Taylor hasn't done anything since her tweet.

Remember that time Taylor broke out her vanilla dance moves @ the awards between an American Idol contestant and I-totally-didn't-pay-her-$$$-to-be-my-friend Lorde?

Speaking of Lorde I seem to remember last year, pop-gaf was hailing her as the Messiah of music. Where are those stans now?

Excellent and truthful post.

I hate this recent trend of glorifying women with "bigger" bodies. It's fine to be tolerant and accepting but when people like Nikki go out of their way to shame "thinner" people, they just make the situation worse.

Fuck the skinny bitches! Fuck the skinny bitches in the club!

Nikki's lyrics are hateful as fuck to be frank. You are literally shaming people in the same way that "bigger" women used to be shamed. It's awful. Taylor is 100% in the right here.

Taylor Swift seems fake and phony.

People do realise that very few actors/singers/celebrities are genuine, right? They're all selling shit. The ones who appear cool invariably are scumbags, the ones who appear to be scumbags could be the nicest people to their friends.

"Used" to be shamed? Hahah, yeah it's definitely stopped.

They all are.

I like to run in Prospect Park in Brooklyn at around midnight, and in certain spots you're running in pure, unadulterated pitch black, with a cool breeze in your face and then you realize the reality of it all: that none of this shit matters. And my god is it freeing.

Tidal. The thing with the white spider-lady stretching herself across a table to sign the contract? "We".

What?

Playing the race card on why Tidal failed. Nothing more. Nicki is going about her critic very very wrong when she started to pull that card out. She could've gotten people on her side, but instead she's trying to make it something that it isn't about.

"Used" to be shamed? Hahah, yeah it's definitely stopped.

It's maybe not completely stopped, but I'd say the majority of men are into curvy women. It's not a stigma anymore. If anything, being curvy is seen as a huge advantage in today's modern world. I can even say with 100% certainty that being skinny is way harder than being curvy.

There is a lot of shaming for girls with "no curves". I hear shit thrown around like "do more squats" or terms like a girl having "no ass" way too often. It's gross. We should be tolerant of all body types, not promoting one kind over another.

Thank you. She should be ashamed of herself. Especially as someone who has nothing to say about black issues (unless she's disrespecting the image of a black icon), to suddenly play the race card in such a petty manner is asinine. Not to mention the attempt to somehow ignore Beyonce, Kendrick, and Bruno Mars receiving video of the year award nominations. Or the attempt to make an even more insular argument by saying this is about black female rappers. Fuckouttahere.

Even if she's talking about Swift's video..

Swift doesn't set the nominees for the MTV Video awards.. so she's a huge brat if she thinks Nikk's tweet was some slight at her specifically.
