Comparision between 3 phone i am looking at

I am getting 100 dollar credit to buy phone from company.

Alcatel Idol 3
is getting great reviews. Midrange but awesome: price for me is $288-100+ tax = 220

Lg G3 was great last year but this year i am hearing more complains but still was high end phone. Price for me is $360 -100+ tax = 299

I am sticking with koodo.

Main thing I want and the way I will be using is:

* This will be my first smart phone
* I will take pictures with this.I do have very good camera at home but good camera is something i want from phone.
*SD seems important ( can photo, video and games can be transferred in SD card in android?)
* I am very very casual user but good battery life is important ( 2 days of light usage. I do not use phone during work hours. It will be turned off or on sleep)
* I do not want to sign any contract. I do want to take advantage of 100$ off.
* I do not want to go over budget as 300 is nice compromise and max I can go.
* Can these phone be tinkered with? new looks and what not.

Below is the list of all the phones.

I think the g3 is nice but how about another suggestion, the oneplus one? I don't think you need an invite anymore and while it doesn't come with microsd support, $300 can get you the 64gb model now

I have a G3, and it's amazing. I really can't purchase another phone without a removable battery, so basically this phone is gonna last me a few years and then i'll get a G4. Screen is meh (first phone with QHD display, so first kind of problems) but enough tweaking via ROMs and it's much better, running on CloudyG3 latest version and getting easily 5 hours of SoT. Love this phone!

my sister used to be w/ HTC and instead of going with the M8 decided to go for the G3. She hates it because the sound sucks, apparently, and plans to switch to another phone as soon as she's able (she's on Sprint).

how bad is it? not a day?

Don't take her experience as gospel, as others definitely seem to have better experiences, but yes, it won't often last a day even with fairly light usage. My investigations into possible apps causing the wakelocks have proven fruitless.

But that is a great price and it is a good phone.

And it has double tap to wake. Which is critical.

I hate the rear button placement though.

It also get's you nonexistent support and shitty build quality.

Asus Zenfone 2 - 300 and tax gets you 5.5 inches of screen, 64GB of space and 4 gigs of RAM to keep all sorts of stuff open. Dual sim, Micro SD, wireless charging, quad core proc. Quite a deal at 300, really. I've had mine for a month and it's been great.

That said, watch/read a few reviews to get a better idea of whether it's right for you.

Edit: I don't have experience with the phones in the OP, and to be honest I was liking how the Idol 3 was looking before I found out when the Zenfone was releasing. But then again, the G3 is pretty good, so... hmm.

Apologies - I live in the US, so my mind went to US dollars.

That said, the G series of phones are well made. I was considering the Idol 3 because of reasons I can't recall, but if you can get a G3, you can't go wrong.

G3. I'm using it right now and have been for a year. Got it the first week it was out. Great phone and a great camera too. Go for it.

I've been using a LG G3 for quite a while now, and I'm fully satisfied.

Gorgeus screen, minimal size for a 5"+(it's the best screen to body ratio IRC), nice features, removable battery, wireless charging. It's a flagship phone and it feels like one.

It can be had for some really good prices nowadays.

I've had a G3 for a little over a year now, and I want to address the poor battery life complaints. The absolutely number 1 killer of battery life with any phone, but with the G3 in particular, is screen on time. If you can manage this one aspect you will actually be shocked at how long the battery lasts. When the device is in 'sleep', it's like it isn't using battery. So there's a lot more variance than my S3 or S4 ever had.

Pros:
Gorgeous screen
Great camera
Excellent form factor and feel in your hand
Solid build quality (for a plastic phone)
double tap to turn on is a game changer
Love the buttons on the back
Removable battery and SD card
Circle case is boss

Cons:
Screen drains battery quickly
Not as bright in direct sunlight as some other flagships
Will overheat if screen is left on too long (using as a GPS for a roadtrip for example)
Slight stutter immediately after logging in if you launch an intensive app

Just to drop my own anecdote, but my wife's Oneplus One is all kinds of awesome. We've been very happy and pleasantly surprised with it. That's all. :)

I'm going to need a new phone and the oneplustwo is an option (as is the nexus 6 and the rumored Nexus's).

I have the G3 and I'll agree with all of this. Overall it's a great phone.

Performance and battery life are better on the One Plus One. Sorry to tell you

The One Plus One is a mixed bag. Specs are very good (aside from lack of microSD card slot and removable battery), but the problem is that the build quality is pretty inconsistent, and if you do have a problem, their customer service is absolutely horrific. It's a nifty phone, but the higher than average number of issues and shitty customer service cannot be ignored. Hopefully they step up their game with the new model.

Chances are good that ordering from a random Chinese vendor will result in a Galaxy clone. They are incredibly common.

The site is the biggest online marketplace in China, one of the biggest in the world and completely legit. Individual sellers on there may not be. But $300 U.S. is the normal price for an S5 on there. I'd say the only issue is these may well be refurbished rather than brand new. With Chinese manufacturers trying to clear stock and materials due to the s6 it's not a big leap that these are legit. Check the feedback first. I've ordered loads of stuff from there and never had a problem, but I do tend to go for Chinese brands that they wouldn't bother cloning anyway. With the S5, clones have the 1.3 ghz cpu which can't manage 1080p. So if it advertises 1080p it's probably legit.
