Another thread where sour grapes make people think that some slightly underinflated balls had any effects on the outcome of anything.

Winners win.

Goodell is a fool.
Unless Brady actually did it and they caught him red goddamn handed, he's going to eat them alive. Or Kraft makes him stand down.

Just think, if Seattle had done what they were supposed to fucking do we'd be having this conversation in an entirely different context. I'm glad they're being "punished" but they already won. Their behavior was validated, again, by victory.

Whats the point? No asterisks on those wins or records. Although his legacy is tainted with the amount of cheating throughout his career.

Kraft is going to make him stand down, Pats made alot of enemies in the other owners who basically told Goodell to not play ball.

Goodell is an idiot. He and the NFL are going to be embarrassed in court.

Brady destroyed evidence, his cell, when he knew he would be asked to produce it. He took the Aaron Hernandez , another Patriot great, approach to declare his innocence and it will end in court like Hernandez

I'd be more prone to agree with you if the Patriots didn't already have a shady record regarding rule bending/breaking

Destroyed his cell phone eh?

Asterisk that championship :)

And stay classy, Bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwston.

so, how does any of this carry over to a court case?

Destroying evidence of an active investigation isn't a good look, but i assume there are no teeth to the "request" when its a private matter. How does that transfer over to a court case?

Can't they just change the suspension to 4 games for actively destroying evidence of an internal NFL investigation and then there is no court case?

Boston fans are too busy furiously masturbating to the "they're out to get us" mentality that comes from living in... Boston

someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the nflpa is taking the nfl to court on the grounds they dont have the right to suspend brady for four games, not whether or not he deflated footballs

A nasty combo of white people persecution complex plus tertiary city no one gives a fuck about complex.

Eli says hi.

They weren't the police conducting a criminal investigation. I wouldn't want my phone with all of my private information in the hands of the NFL either. That organization leaks like a sieve.

The evidence against him and the patriots is laughable, and people only think it's any good because they like a different sports team. The whole thing is so childish and sad to watch. Just look at this thread.

they have a right to suspend anyone for however many games they want. I'm pretty sure it was because they don't have sufficient evidence to support their suspension... otherwise i've been out of the loop completely on this, and will happily stay ignorant until its all over

Serious question. Why?

i think a lot of people take the road the says "well if he got caught doing this what did he do that he DIDNT get caught for" or just straight up think if he got caught doing something he played on an uneven level, regardless of how small the advantage was

The crazy thing is that he may have even been innocent, but now they have grounds to suspend him for impeding the investigation to a substantial degree.

Before this whole thing I would have called Brady the greatest QB of this generation.

I would have even agreed with the crowd that says inflated balls mean nothing to that game.

But the way Brady has responded to this whole thing has been a clusterfuck. From outright lying at a press conference to destroying his cell phone now....he's ruined his public image over what would have been a non-issue if handled correctly.

If this goes to court, a judge can order Tom Brady's wireless carrier via subpoena to turn over all of Tom Brady's text message history.

Tom destroying his phone is hilarious. Does he think there aren't automatic copies of all texts stored somewhere else?

And even if they don't get HIS records, they can get the records of the texts from those two lockerroom stooges that he sent the messages to.

Tom Brady is an idiot. And he's 100% guilty.

right, so... you just say no, you aren't going to cooperate, which is what he did. You don't then destroy the phone as well.

Your excuse is tired and weak

i think thats it, that the grounds hes suspended on violate something something clause something something.

can someone clarify the 4 months cell phone thing? he had the phone for 4 months knowing they wanted it and then destroyed it? is that what they are saying?

Who is being childish? Give me 1 reasonable explanation why he destroyed his phone.

That chances of this being reduced or overturned in court are slim. Goodell was given the authority to do this through the collective bargaining agreement, so the NFLPA takes a ton of blame here. Also, courts typically don't like to intervene into instances that were collectively bargained. He's basically being suspended for failing to cooperate and destroying the phone, so they don't even have to prove that he cheated or knew about cheating

There's no way it would have been a non issue because Brady was guilty. It's either fork over the phone and have them find the truth that you were complicit in the plan, or don't and leave it in the winds. Both result in you being branded a cheater, why?

Because Brady is a cheater. Case closed.

:jnc at anybody saying Brady will take it to court. Why so we can DEFINITIVELY find out that he was cheating? Right.

I heard he will just file an injunction which will delay the suspension so he will be able to start the season with the team and then his legal team could keep delaying the actual trial or whatever until the end of the season or really late in the season or something like that
