The "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" worked.

*heavy breathing*

It will be sluggish until all the post installation tasks have finished. Just wait a while and it will become snappy again.

Currently creating an ISO from the ESD, hopefully I'll have a clean install up within an hour. I can't wait to try it out properly. Hopefully I can figure out why Cortana is disabled and greyed out.

Most likely because of your language settings. Had to set my region to US, download text and speech packs and relog, then I could enable Cortana.

Download complete, PC restart and update failed. :/ When i try to run .exe it's missing "boot.wim" file. It almost 2 am where i live. WTF Microsoft!

Thanks I'll give that a try once I'm done.

Check the file size of your bt folder. If it's 6 gigs then set automatic updates. Run the cmd prompt code again and it should work. 14 % installed

is it safe to do the cmd prompt thing?

i ran the cmd prompt about 15 times. First time I believe lets you preload in the background. I saw that happen. After it was done I ran setup and it said it was missing that file. So for shits and giggles I ran the cmd prompt again and windows update opened and downloaded and said would you like to install. Should work. If you wanna wait a few min to see if mine installs perfectly I'll let you know

It is 5,87gb so should be fine. I did run this command again, Update showed 99% and I was waiting. Then red shield appeared and told me to restart my PC. I did it and now again Update shows "Windows 10 reserved.", so I'm back when I started. :/

Love the look of Windows 10, but I'll wait around to see if there are any driver issues. The "Get Windows 10" app telling me I can't run Windows 10 because of my 980 Ti is kinda funny.

I'm installed and setting up apps. Make sure automatic updates are set and retry to cmd prompt code. I did it in c: and system32 folder

Finally got the reserve notice on my TW801. Very curious to see how 10 handles on it.
It should run great, i am running the preview on the same tablet, and it runs just as good as windows 8. Word of caution do a full backup of you c drive on a external drive ( i think all you need is the windows folder but do the whole drive just in case) your going to have to reinstall all the drivers from the device manager. Oh and you'll need a file call touchsettings.gt that should be in C:\windows\inf, copy that from your c drive back up and put in the same folder in windows 10,that file is the touchscreen settings for your tablet if you don't have it the touch screen will be off and your windows button won't work.

GUYS! QUICK UPDATE FOR THOSE DOING THE wuauclt.exe /updatenow:

It may not be the case for everyone, but my experience led me to believe Windows Update needs to automatically download and install updates for this to work. I had it set to not do so originally, which is why I couldn't get the Windows 10 update.

MAKE SURE YOUR UPDATE SETTINGS ALLOW WINDOWS TO DO ITS DUTY!

*ahem*

carry on folks. :3

I couldn't get it to work, this post got me goin though. Changed update settings, ran command, then told windows to Check For Updates. Started to download woo!!!

It's hidden just type in c://$Windows~BT and it should open up

I did but I'll try again :) Hopefully something didn't go wrong on my part. I did a system restore in an attempt to get my wireless keyboard working again (just mysteriously stopped) and I'm currently undoing it just to see if that had any effect.

And let me tell you a keyboard not responding the day before new Windows is lame.

sorry for huge picture, but that install went really fast. didnt see any options for a clean install. maybe i have to do it now

Figured out why I keep on getting failed updates today. The update I was trying to download was an update to windows 10 home.

Well, Windows 10 finally downloaded after crashing once halfway through, and now it failed to install with a 80240020 error. I ran a Microsoft Fixit tool that supposedly fixes that error code which found some registry problem the first time that it couldn't fix, ran it again and it supposedly fixed the problem this time?

I dunno, I think I'll just try again in the morning, getting sick to death of fighting with Windows 8.1's absolutely awful update system.
