2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

In an attempt to imitate the original film, I'm trying to go full VHS

Just a heads up but I ported Martins Film Grain to Reshade and it's a really stellar FG implementation.

Details here.

It should be included by default in the next Reshade release, in the CustomFx suite.

Awesome! One question though - the noise filter I'm using in the ReShade Framework has a signal-to-noise ratio that makes noise less visible on bright pixels. Does your effect have the same feature? Uniform full-screen noise is unfortunately not an option for me, as I only really want it to be significant in dark areas.

Quickly to clarify, I didn't make it, I just ported it over.

It's not an option, as much as it just doesn't affect light areas naturally.

If something is pure white or pure black it doesn't get affected at all.

Here's how the grain implementation looks on the screenshot resized down to 1080

sSZNXr4.png

Here's the settings that come with it

Code:
#define GrainPower 0.08 //[0.00 to 1.00] Intensity of applied grain
#define GrainColored 0 //[0 or 1] Whether grain should be colored or not. Colored grain is not as noticeable, so it helps to increase grain power.
#define GrainColorAmount 1.0//[0.00 to 1.00] Amount of color to add to grain
#define GrainSize 1.50 //[1.25 to 2.50] Size of individual pieces of grain. Below 1.25 the pattern becomes noticeable.
#define GrainLuma 1.0//[0.00 to 1.00] Grain brightness. 0 makes grain not visible.

Does Rocket League have some kind of replay function because grabbing shots like that during gameplay seems like an impossible task. :p

How's Rocket Leagues Performance on your new card?

Can't wait till I get paid. The PS4 version dips a lot on certain levels.

Wanna play this one DSR on my TV.

^ Looks like fun!

It really really is. And surprisingly skillful.

Wait, what? How is this not a bullshot? Incredible detail (the crown, radiator, fire trail, etc.) Just look at the radiator. Might have to just buy this game pre-sale. Beautiful capture.

This is sort of bullshot, since its at 7k and 20fps. However:

60fps at 4k! Which the game is locked to. Can't wait either mang :D This game is the shit.

It does :). Sadly reshade doesn't grab its depth buffer or it'd be the bees knees.

Gorgeous. That's what Skyrim used to look like in my mind when using ENBs :P

Anyway, this is pretty much as close as I can get to the original Alien film without tweaking the settings per shot, so if anybody wants the preset, PM me:

As you may notice I've strayed away from the over the top VHS look, the reason being that I finalised the preset to make it playable on my current GPU (a GTX 970) at 4K in terms of performance and visuals. Right now I'm sitting at more or less 30 FPS minimum, but the shaders I need to achieve the full VHS look drop my FPS down to an average of 20-ish at 4K. In terms of visuals, some of the shots I take need to be altered to have much darker blacks via the levels shader, which wouldn't suit the whole game (many portions would be unplayable due to the complete darkness), and between that and depth of field, blur, etc, playability would take a hit. So I'll probably just make two separate presets: one that resembles the Blu-ray version of the 1979 Alien film, and another one that resembles the original VHS version.
