SSB for 3DS & U - Tourney Mode, Youtube Replay DLC Stages and Mii Costumes (K. Rool)

But then there's the point that I brought up earlier. Besides veterans, a Rhythm Heaven rep, & third parties, who else is there that wouldn't be seen as scraping the bottom of the barrel? Nintendo already has characters from every single third party friend they have left in Smash (except maybe Atlus & to an extent Square-Enix), & most of the franchises left are dead ones (which Sakurai has stated he is less likely to go through the trouble of adding).
You keep asking this despite the fact that people keep giving you answers :P

This is one of those impossible questions because people will argue any character is or isn't worthy of Smash.

Is Chibi Robo, hero of multiple title and even an Amiibo worthy? Fair enough.
Is Mallo, hero of multiple titles worthy? Fair enough, though I'm not sure if he's big enough.
Is Donkey Kong Jr, a big past Nintendo name but completely unheard of now worthy? Not sure, while he hasn't been in a game for longer than King K. Rool (correct me if I'm wrong), he's been in more games than King K. Rool (again, correct me if I'm wrong).
Are series already represented with one character like Wario Ware or FZero worthy of a second rep? The best option for WarioWare in my opinion would be Ashley, but she's already an Assist Trophy (though there are other options). Same for F-Zero, Samurai Gordo would be my top pick, but we all know how that turned out.
Are series with a lot of representation like Mario, Zelda and Pokémon in need of more? Eh, I think Mario & Pokémon are fine. Though Zelda could use one more rep.
.

Quick Question but would anyone actually be against characters that are currently assist trophies being elevated to playable status ala Little Mac?

What bothers me about the K.Rool costume is that it doesn't even really look like him, due to the open mask. I like costumes like Proto Man and the Inklings, since even the proportions are fairly close, but these costumes are just lame. The mask should cover the entire face in a case like this, not be kept open.

Same thing regarding the Chrom costume, although there it's mostly about proportions. It's hard to get excited about a Fire emblem 'character' who looks nothing like the other FE characters already in the game.

There are still Mario and Zelda characters that could easily be added. We still have no Ganon or anyone from Mario's various spin offs.

So tomorrow is when more hearts will be broken once Wonder Red, Wonder Blue and Wonder Green are revealed as Mii Fighter costumes, right?

In this game or the next one?

I'd like Nintendog to become a playable character just to remove the assist trophy.

While I can agree with you on the Zelda front, Mario doesn't really need anymore representation for now. Don't get me wrong, if they can think of something cool for Paper Mario, I'm down for it, but another Mario character would likely be met with a "meh" to the general public.

I'm ready for Mr. L.

Goomba is the ultimate final character. It will be the final DLC.

Nintendo most iconic character not represented.

Seeing as the Rhythm Heaven character file was found alongside the Dr. Mario stage data, my gut is telling me that whoever it is will come out alongside Wolf. Which is funny, considering that this was my original prediction as far as the DLC roll-out is concerned.

I would say that there was a file for a Rhythm Heaven stage as well, but I spoke to Push Dust on Reddit already & he clarified that it was mainly a character file. That being said, a newcomer usually has a stage to match, so I guess the stage would apply as well.

This is what I'm excited the most about with this whole thing.

This is good news, actually. These costumes were likely created before the ballot started, which means they were paying attention to the "irrelevant" character before taking the ballot results into account. He even has the gold belly, which hasn't been seen since Donkey Kong 64!

...right? :(
Stage 1: Denial.

I get a "cut for time" vibe from the Dr. Mario stage and a "cut for technical issues" vibe from the Chorus Kids. I'd love to be wrong, though. Just look at my avatar!

Sakurai is a lying fraud. He said they didn't cut anything to sell as DLC later and here we have damning evidence that this wasn't true.

I demand he be removed from the Smash Bros team and publicly shamed for being the massive hypocrite he is.

The Ice Climbers data was completely purged from the game's data. The Chorus Kids' data wouldn't still be there if they had Ice Climbers-esque issues. Plus their moveset would probably be more rhythm-based than AI-based. As such, I'm more inclined to believe that their issue was based on time constraints, much like the Dr. Mario stage.

Stage 1: Denial.
Link's DLC Mii Costume kinda proves that a Mii costume doesn't deconfirm a character. It's not denial when there's pretty good evidence to back it up.

It doesn't necessarily de-confirm him, but ask yourself why would they make a K Rool costume if they were just going to add him as playable anyway?

It's not, which is why nobody knows for sure who the Rhythm Heaven rep is. All we have is a reference to a "rhythm" emblem. Also, there's still data for an Ice Climber trophy section.

Same reason why they have a Link Mii Costume, or a Mario Mii Costume, or a Meta Knight Mii Costume. It's for shits & giggles.

There is?

This is a nice surprise that stages are dropping so soon, but give us goddamn Corneria already
Already on the 3DS version.

$$

They release the costume now to milk money from desperate fans like myself then reveal him as ballot winner two months later. It's certainly not impossible, but I'm not expecting anything. Remember folks, the ballot ain't over yet.

There is?

Link is an entirely different story. He was in the game already, and is incredibly popular. People wanted a Link costume, it's a nice costume and it was weird it wasn't in the game from the start.

The Mario and Metaknight costumes aren't costumes. They're just hats. And it would have been really bizarre to not have a Mario hat, probably the most iconic hat in gaming, to not be in the game. A lot of the hats based on vets are also just ripped from the 3DS Mii games.

No new comer in Smash 4 has a Mii costume, though. Whether it be base game or DLC. Not even Megaman, who has a bunch of DLC costumes for Miis... except none for the specific Megaman that's already a fighter. That means 100% of the costumes referencing Nintendo characters in Smash are either vets or characters who are not playable.

There wouldn't really be a reason to add a K Rool costume other than to try and throw a bone to people who want him since they don't intend to add him as a full character.

There's also a shit ton of Links in Zelda canon. I always took the inclusion of a Link Mii costume as "anyone can be Link, even you!" There's regular Link, Toon Link, and now Mii Link.

Which might be why Link is the only full costume of a playable character in the game. The rest are just hats.
