It's there
Alright who on GAF gave this critical acclaim? Speak up!
I still haven't played my Wii U copy... Fun fact: my Wii U is actually a ZombiU Special Edition. The console itself is exactly the same as a regular one, but it came bundled with the game and Pro controller![]()
It's a really good game. I have absolutely no idea why some reviewers panned it.
This game isn't going to be anywhere near as good without the GamePad though. Just using a bog standard controller will result in A LOT less proper stress and anxiety that made the original so damned good.(
Great that more people are going to be able to play it though, just a shame that they won't be able to experience the proper experience that the original has.(
I disagree entirely. The gamepad functions were nice but they can be easily replicated by creating an inventory system that doesn't pause the game. I enjoyed this game but the gamepad wasn't a major contributor to that.
Traded in my WiiU copy yesterday, infact, in anticipation of this.
Good pure survival horror game, but marred by having to use that shitty Gamepad, with it's accompanying forced gimmicks, and lack of any real characters or any depth to its story, so hopefully this port will solve a lot of the gameplay issues at least. A better plot and some proper characters is probably asking a bit much though.
Still, a good game overall, even if it does get a bit overhyped here.
Demon's Souls? Dark Souls? The Last of Us?That's not really the same. Having an inventory that doesn't pause in game just is frustrating cause you have no chance of seeing what is happening around you (it's why games pause for inventory). if you have your inventory on a game pad you can at least try to keep a peripheral watch on your tv screen while you check inventory.
Demon's Souls? Dark Souls? The Last of Us?
It's not frustrating. It just forces you to make sure you're in a safe hidden area or have time before digging into your inventory. Or plan ahead since you can't pause the game and swap weapons or whatnot in the middle of the action
If it's 1080p and 60fps I might consider picking it up again.

I don't remember seeing people downplaying the game because of the platform it was on. Quite the contrary, as I've seen many wanting to play the game. Buying a Nintendo system just isn't the best choice for horror fans, which is also why horror games don't usually sell that well on them.
Shitty gamepad? get out of here...

What's up with the last gen textures?

What's up with the last gen textures?
Any idea on the price?
Because its a remaster of a last gen game?
I thought it was a great game, the best survival horror in god knows how long. Loads of jank sure, but a really tense experience. If there are many changes (probably won't be), I'll double dip on PS4.Alright who on GAF gave this critical acclaim? Speak up!
It's a last gen remaster.
Not all remasters redo the texture. A remaster can just be an upgrade to 1080p and 60FPS. And likely is in this case.
Just like bluray remasters often don't change the effects of the movie, just the resolution and general quality of the frames.

I know but this looks just the same as when I played it on Wii U. I wouldn't even call it a remaster.

That would be something lol. I don't have any interest in playing it without the tense moments created by the gamepad, but a bigger audience would do it some good. Too bad it looks the same (from what I remember).Watch everyone magically love this game now
Oh, that's cool.It was 1080p 60fps on WiiU?
