The International 2015 | Dota 2 Championships : Presented by Valve | July 26-Aug 8

Oh man, G just pulled a kyxy.

EDIT: Kyxy still holds the trophy though, at least G didn't do it at the main event in an extremely close and crucial game.

Change the meta.

Also, the hero as a concept just feels so unbalanced. A ranged hero who has an AOE magical damage ultimate with an insanely low cooldown, some of the most damaging early game magical spells, and can do spread damage that scales with his items so he's very good as a late game carry?

Literally all other carries have some form of drawback in return (squishiness, lack of mobility, high mana costs, suck at farming) but I just don't see any when it comes to Gyro.

Maybe decrease the MS or make rocket barrage/flak cannon deal half damage to creeps/neuts? That would decrease the farming capability of the hero.

The half damage to neutrals/creeps is a pretty decent idea. It would retain his late game potential but still reduce the sheer effectiveness with which he can farm pretty much anything.

The odd thing is the only thing that broke him recently was a cast point buff. Maybe just make Rocket Barrage do less damage flat out. Or spread the rockets out over a longer period of time, like instead of 30 over 3 seconds, maybe spread it out to 4 or 5 seconds.

That would be a nice nerf too. It would weaken his laning presence quite a bit. I still think the main issue is the hero's AOE capabilities though and his early to late game potential. You got a 60 sec CD AOE burst damage @ level 6 with a massive slow, the capability to kill weak heroes during late game with Flak Cannon and good MS in conjunction with Rocket Barrage. Hard to counter that especially with good supports in the early game.

Thing is though, if you nerf his laning there is no reason to pick him. Theres better heroes for mid+lategame that doesn't need a rapier to do the same things gyro does.

Can't wait! Being the second set too, shouldn't have to worry about missing anything messing around with the shop.

You didn't setup a preorder?

I'm picking my stuff up on Sunday. Plan is arrive in Seattle, bum around the airport for a bunch of hours since I land at 5 AM, take the train to Downtown, catch Mission Impossible to kill time and then get my room/swag after the movie.

I did set up a preorder, but I don't even land until 6PM Sunday, and I'm expecting the line to pickup preorders on Monday to be long in its own right.

That not odd at all. Look at how good old Leshrac use to be before they nerfed Edict and how he fell off the face of the meta when the cast point was added. No castpoint is a huge buff to chasing spells and Rocket Barrage was already really good.

VP were doing some pub plays when Empire were Roshing. They didn't apply pressure to lanes or even contest. They were entirely too passive.

C9 is gonna get 3rd place. Beat CDEC, clown LGD, then lose to Secret in the Upper Bracket Finals, and EG in the Lower Bracket FInals.

Somehow i missed that Vici didn't make the winners bracket despite Empire and VP struggling.

Though with all the draws BO3 might do them some good.

Did liquipedia get hacked?

A couple hours ago visiting some of their pages there seemed to be a redirect to a scammy site, and now it's down.

Seems like they've only played each other once and that was back during DAC when CDEC had Maybe and Mikasa (c9 won that bo1).

This Cdec is a little different even compared to the qualifiers though. I think partly because the meta favours them.

Still don't think it's enough to beat C9.

They only showed the ones made for the wild card teams but I think its possible they will make more during the main event
