Well as I said elsewhere, because Gears is a GP game, it'll go into the don't buy, rent bucket.
But I don't have GP right now, so it'll probably get swallowed up by my backlog and never get played
Already played HD2 back at launch - long ago now.
So that's a long way of saying neither! Unless they put gears on Switch 2 as well. Now that could be an interesting version. Series S makes all those switch 2 versions viable.
Gears is a single player /traditional MP game that was one of the 3 big Xbox franchises from the 360 era. The only good Xbox era.
Helldivers - no one had really cared about until 18 months ago and didn't expect much from 2. Its live service, was on PC day and date. Not a first party developer - in fact didn't arrowhead complain and say their next project wouldn't be with Sony because of platform release limitations?
Anyway, not the same in terms of platform significance in my opinion.
Yes Helldivers has been a big recent commercial success for Sony, but it is no Gran Turismo for PS or Gears for Xbox in terms of platform identity. And it is an 18 month old live service - this is closer to something like Sea of Theives going across.
Of course Sea of Theives was one of the 4, and only 4 - Phil definitely never tried to mislead anyone.
So maybe this is the beginning of Sony accepting Xbox is not competition any more and other titles will follow.
But it'll need to be GT or something like that to be the equivalent of Gears.
Come to think of it, we can now call xbox series x/s as Playstation? Nah, Sony PS are still dumb on not taking advantage of the situation even if they are in the lead, and still fell into the trap.
