Gamescom: Microsoft press conference (August 4; Scalebound, Crackdown, QB, H5+ more)

My off the wall prediction? Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement at MS presser, DLC first on Xbox, and Red Dead Redemption free with preorder.


Please just announce the game...I...need...

I don't think their is any leaks because I don't think Microsoft has really anything big to announce. I think they are going to use this showcase to show off previously announced games as well as maybe a few smaller announcements (ie screamride) and some new or updated services (ie halo channel)

BC didn't leak before the conference and that was huge. I think they have just gotten better since the ntkrnl leak.

Yeah, I hear you. But I have to say I really like the Fallout 4 hype rollout.

Here, here's a trailer.
10 days later ...here's a demo of the game. And another. And another. For 25 minutes....just demos and vids about the game.
Oh, and the game is coming out in five months. Pre-order now; you'll love it.

Didn't someone from Rare just comment about the requests for a PC port of Rare Replay? I bet they figure out how to do it, but it's probably not happening anytime soon.

I was under the impression cboat worked at another company, but was in a position of privileged information, or he simply got info from someone who was in such a position. He always dropped negative news about Xbox, so I can't imagine he worked for MS.

umm did not know that, something tells me the nail in the coffin for cboats leaker was probably the fake NPD numbers given

They're both old of course, but maybe some people missed them. Kamiya also said that even when the reveal-trailer was CGI, it really showed their vision and they want to replicate the feeling of it in the final game.

It was so early in development, who knows what it is exactly. It might not be linear in the sense Bayonetta is, but with everything I've read and heard it could be huge battle arenas, like Toukiden, for example.

Or even, if the online stuff is true, a selection of different huge maps that you can choose in the lobby.

Who knows!?

I was just fooled by my country's vat and some offers, my bad .

Point still stands; with ps4 going for ~300 (often with games) XB1 needs a big pricecut in Europe.

Hype for tomorrow (well, today already).

There were really no leaks from them for E3 either, even though backwards compatibility was a huge announcement.

Is this going to be available in its entirety to watch after the fact or do i have to get up at the buttcrack of dawn to see it live? I know they're sometimes shit at posting conferences, sometimes only getting around to it days after the event.

If I had to guess theres not much to leak for this conference, not meaning that theres nothing there, but that the frontrunners of the show is gameplay reveals for games like Scalebound and Crackdown etc plus info on games we've seen. Unless the videos get leaked, which they won't, theres probably not any big "announcements" to leak like there is at E3 and such.

I'm not so sure, because Sea of Thieves, Rare Replay, Recore, and backwards compatibility were all surprises.

I don't know how this would be possible unless Microsoft bought Xenia and somehow made it work on a ton of 360 games in the last few months. If Rare/Microsoft didn't even bother porting the 360 games to Xbox One, what makes you think PC is in the cards?

Yes but this isn't E3, this is Gamescom. Don't expect a conference at the level of E3 unless you want to be disappointed.

For example last year they had a 90-minute conference at Gamescom and the only new game they announced was Screamride.

Plus with Gamescom and E3 being 2 weeks closer to each other this year along with them not having any competition to beat out this year.

Rare Replay was not really a surprise. But Yeah MS had surprises for E3, and they can have surprises for Gamescom.
