I just noticed you can see the skeleton's hand in the water to the left.
Would be cool if he was related to Nito. "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate... of the dead."
"You owe me about tree fiddy"

Maybe because my last DS2 character was a dual-wielding, dodging/rolling badass, but I think Demon's Souls is much slower than DS2.
Dark Souls had Blighttown.
Dark Souls 2 had The Gutter.
I do wonder what surprise awaits us in 3.
I see what you mean now that you mention Adjudicator - which is an awesome boss thematically and I totally forgot him. I would like to see more stuff like that too. I feel Bloodborne was refreshing in that regard over Dark Souls 2.
I'm also someone who enjoyed Dragon God of it being a complete jobber and being preceded by arguably the hardest boss in the game for melee characters. I'd like to see more of both of them in games. One's a fun level to explore and less of a traditional boss fight, and the other is just cheap as fuck with random attack combos it'll stop early to mess with players.
I suspect you're using this to highlight instances of aliasing, but hnnng it looks SO GOOD. Can you screencap the fat knight that runs around on all fours? And the Mindflayer-like woman wandering the prison?
...underwhelming? What did you want? That trailer was pretty underwhelming to be honest we get some actual gameplay tomorrow right?
It takes too long getting in and not enough gameplay for my taste....underwhelming? What did you want?
I liked Dragon God. Yeah, he's a gimmick boss, and hardly a boss at all, really. But MAN, looking down that hall of pillars after Flamelurker and seeing Dragon God's sneering mug framed perfectly at the end is a sight I'll never forget. By that point I was so immersed in the grounded feeling of Souls that the suspension of disbelief was complete and that was a real goddamn dragon I was staring down, lol.Dragon God is another great example of what I mean. And yeah, just that video gamey element of bosses with invulnerabilities until weakpoints are exploited, or round about ways to defeat them. Dark Souls 2 had very, very few of these fights.
Thanks for these!!Nah, not to highlight the aliasing (even though it's not great). Legit think the game looks gorgeous.

Literally impossible since it's even faster than Dark Souls 1.
This trailer really showed how superior Bloodborne's art direction is...
I mean, it is Dark Souls 3, I'm still excited... but also kind of disappointed in the visuals department :/
Can someone make an uncompressed screencap of the fat knight on all fours, swinging his mace, etc? I love his design.
It's just you.Is it just me or does this game look much worse visually than Bloodborne
I still think it looks good. I'm saving them to a smartphone so they'll look even better. Thanks Eats!I tried, but since he's moving in every shot there's a ton of motion blur.

Optimized for two consoles, and PCs, instead of just one.Is it just me or does this game look much worse visually than Bloodborne
It's just you.
The art direction is debatable but I don't see how this looks worse than Bloodborne on a technical level.
Looks like Bloodborne 2. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm still playing Bloodborne every day and this still looks impressive to me. I'm not seeing the downgrade.Actually, that was the first thing that came in my mind when I saw the trailer. I still think it looks worse even after watching the Gamersyde video. Don't get me wrong, it is still beautiful, especially the enemy designs. But it is kind of underwhelming after Bloodborne.
Same. This looks every bit as beautiful and inspired as Bloodborne.I'm still playing Bloodborne every day and this still looks impressive to me. I'm not seeing the downgrade.
I think the fabric might actually be a wispy vapor, like smoke from an incense burner or candle, and at times it solidifies to have the appearance of fabric.I don't think it looks worse. Looks about exactly the same. Obviously the same engine, and the same emphasis on parallax mapping/tessellation for geometry detail on surfaces, and low resolution surface textures hidden behind nice shaders.
Otherwise the actual models, art, details all look fucking incredible to me. That free flowing translucent ethereal blue fabric flowing from the gangly boss amidst the orange glow of hot fires around the battle looks incredible.
Nah. Demon's Souls was a PS3 exclusive and Dark Souls was a multiplat that came later. Dark Souls looked better than Demon's Souls. This will be fine. Not much worse but it will suffer because it's designed for 3 platforms.

As a newcomer to the series with Bloodborne, I'm encouraged to see that playing the 'Bloodborne way' seems to be an option here. Maybe it's because I haven't tried it myself, but the slower action (correct me if it's not actually slower) of Dark Souls doesn't seem to appeal to me as much as Bloodborne's does.

You could play previous Souls games like Bloodborne. Main difference is the lack of health regain when hitting enemies who just hit you. You're a bit more nimble in Bloodborne, but you're still perfectly agile in Souls (especially in DS3, from the looks of it). What's nice about Souls is there are even more ways to play. I'm personally looking forward to a mixed magic build with a bit of swordplay. As a newcomer to the series with Bloodborne, I'm encouraged to see that playing the 'Bloodborne way' seems to be an option here. Just quoting these screens because holy shit the character design is so amazzzzzzing
