Final Fantasy XV 'Dawn' trailer

I don't think Kagari is angry that she could have been a romantic interest for Noctis. But as it seems now, Luna has only literally become a love interest. She has no other purpose in the story, as her abilities she shared with Noctis to fight as an equal with him as a legitimate antagonist are nowhere to be seen, and we only see her sitting in a chair or getting beat up.

It raises no confidence that she is literally anything in the story outside of a hold over from those days.

Look forward to burly dudes frolicking in the tent. That holds more appeal that a strong female character.

When the trailer started off with "15 years ago" I thought it was going to recap the development history of the game.

I understand Tabata wanting to make FFXV his own, but why go to such great lengths at disassociating yourself from the original vision.

Luna no longer in game; nor is the city party scene; new heroine; story change from Nojima's original planning; character design change; the list goes on.

I don't know, maybe it's me since I remember the reveal back in 2006 and it's hard to disassociate myself from what I saw then, to the changes being made today - regardless, hoping for more information in the extended trailer.

Really weird trailer, felt more like a technology showcase. Feeling impartial because I loved the dark atmosphere but also missed the lack of normal trailer stuff (voice acting, gameplay, release date). I expected more, there's still the ATR but doubt that will be anything significant.

Time to look forward to Tokyo Game Show I guess.

They trolled with World of Final Fantasy before FF7 Remake
They trolled with KH Browser game before showing legit KH3 Gameplay

Tomorrow they will show more we still have all week.

World of Final Fantasy still managed to look charming in its own right, and that troll lasted like two minutes. We went right into the FF7/R trailer after it finished and Adam talked. Leaving us for hours with this trailer marinating is a terrible idea, if that is truly what they went for.

That was dissapointing to say the least.. I assume it was when Noctis and his father lost his mother/wife ? Besides that it was pretty but showed nothing.

Trying to make sense of Nomura's vision for anything can't be easy. After playing Kingdom Hearts, I'm confident that the only person that will ever understand Nomura is Nomura.

I know what Kagari's mad about. I was just stating a personal feeling.

I agree completely. Stella was an intriguing character being presented back in the day. We're getting nothing to take confidence in about Luna.

They also trolled us with the FF7 HD Remaster when they knew months prior that were doing an FF7 Remake. We were left hanging for months I'm sure they are gonna win their nominations this Gamescom by picking up this cliff hanger of a trailer right?

What a strange, dull trailer.

After playing the demo my interest in this title has dropped off a cliff, and this clip only serves to remind me that I don't have a lot of faith in the end product.

I'll still probably buy it because of Cidney.

So far this is really the only thing that extremely killed my hype for the game. Stella/luna having noctis powers while their respective countries warred while being love interests had me salivating... It was so fresh.

Man, my hype for this couldn't be lower.

The demo bored me, and all the changes are removing the most interesting parts of the original vision.

I'm still optimistic for the final product, but I'm ready for it to release and move on to 16.

Ugh....i don't have a problem with male relationships, but i really find it a real buzzkill to see potential like that getting squandered.

Liked it. We have reached spirit withing graphics now.

Not quite, but i think we've gotten to the point in real time technology on current gen where CGI isn't really necessary at all to convey everything a game wants us to see in a cut-scene.

In this article Nomra said that " I think it is not good to finish the game with bad mood after spending much times, so now I search a landing point."

I don't even know what that means.

Maybe I'm interpreting this wrongly but it looks like that might be Noctis real father giving him away to the other dad guy we see in the other trailers. That's why he's crying as it might be the last time he sees him.

WTF that guy stole my site's booth images.
LMAO

I am really looking forward to the ATR, even though I enjoyed the slower pace and focus on dramatic stuff the trailer has (father-son scene took long but it was still moving). I wonder if they'll throw a release year/window later or keep that for TGS.

Actually it showed me a lot this trailer. It showed me it's tone. It won't be a FFIX tone (thank god), but more of a FFVIII and FFX tone. Tragic.

I think it's obvious why they didn't have Noctis' father's (?) voice in this trailer. That would probably give away who he really is.

I haven't been keeping up with this game too much. At the end of the trailer, were those three giants standing beyond that weird distorted dome thing?

Best part of the trailer is reading the meltdown here and especially GameFAQs FFXV board.

Kind of, i mean for this game the negativity is so strong sometimes makes it hard to go through XV's related threads.

I mean, most of the complaints are legit (although i don't agree with), but it really brings me down every time.

In the extended trailer we will see:

-the mysterious figure take several more steps towards Luna.
-the dog take a piss on one of the cars
-an extended look at Regis holding Noctis.

I say yes with details, but i agree on AA.

One of the worst trailers I've ever seen for a game. Couldn't have come up with a more dull trailer myself if I tried. Really glad I didn't stay up for this.

When even bloody GameFAQs is complaining about Luna (within the current context that we have) being treated as a bit of damsel in distress, we've hit some kind of weird alternate reality. I mean, I like this reality, but I feel like it's a trap.

I really did like the ending of the trailer, though, even though hopefully-not-really-Regis is a bit generic. Those summons-! Gimme context, Square!
