In Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.the final episode's villain is an ancient extra-dimensional being. The being consumes several people including Fred's parents. One of the new members of the gang dies the previous episode protecting the rest of them. The entity feasts upon the townspeople until the gang seals him back into his sarcophagus. This causes a black hole which implodes the galaxy.

I came into this topic expecting silly responses, and I come out of it having a massive need to watch Mystery Inc...
Not just the newer ones, there were other spin offs back in the day that already had real ghosts. The newer cartoons had real ghosts and shit didn't they

I actually thoughtthey woke up in the original 1960's cartoon universe but with knowledge of the prior universe as well. They hinted at this when they all decided since they were the only people who had lived through the terrors of the mystery inc universe they should just hop into the mystery machine and travel around America looking for mysteries. It was kind of dark ending because even though everyone who had died was now alive & happy the gang had no memories of these people so they all felt like strangers.
All in All Mystery Inc was the best love letter to the who Scooby Universe I've ever seen.
You guys finally convinced me to start Mystery Inc. a few hours ago on Netflix. This show is actually really good, surprised I haven't heard of it sooner.
I would recommend trying out a few episodes on Netflix. The characterizations can be a little strange and off-putting but they all feel like natural progression for the Gang as a whole.
Angie Griffin. You're welcome.
My favorite episode of Harvey Birdman. I can't think of anything else topping that.
This sounds groovy and I'm not at all familiar with it.That show was dark as hell. Multiple people get killed and in fairly brutal ways too. It really stands out from other Scooby Doo shows.
Yeah, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was the first probably.
Mystery inc is my favorite Scooby Doo show ever. A shame it only got two seasons, but two sang good seasons. Guess it's time to rewatch the series soon.
I didn't even see Ezio. Are you referring to the girl or to Ezio in the background?
Every beloved childhood franchise gets one decent reboot.Sometimes I'd like to tell people to start consuming mature media instead of hoping that every one of their beloved childhood franchises get a gritty and serious reboot.

Mystery Incorporated, Spectacular Spider-Man, Transformers: Beast Wars, Friendship is Magic...
I'm sure that even G.I. Joe will get one... eventually.
Two.

Is there a place to watch it?
That was the shit.
Yep scooby doo series with actual overarching mystery.
Daphne and Velma pretty much cover all bases, to be fair. I am a huge Velma fan, but she got kind of annoying at first in the Mystery Inc. series, making a man choose between herself and a dog is mean.
And hilarious.
But also mean.

One thing that you didn't notice:
They didn't really awake in an alternate world without mysteries, but in the world that the original Scooby Doo series takes place in before they head out on their adventure.
This sounds groovy and I'm not at all familiar with it.

Velma and Shaggy, right?
I liked their darker reinterpretation in Venture Bros. Not-scooby was hilarious.
What episode was this?
I mean, it's three sexy teenagers and a hippie burnout with a dog traveling around investigating paranormal shit that turns out to be... well, psycho criminals that dress up or pull elaborate hoaxes. I'm surprised there's been no dark take on it where they either come across something ACTUALLY supernatural at which point it becomes a genuine horror story, or one of these criminals they put away tries to just off them.
