Why don't they you know...target some Republican rallies? You know, the people that really need to realize that, hey black lives DO matter.

Granted I wouldn't blame them if they were fearful if they did since...well..........you know.

I seriously don't get it. He's the one most likely to combat these issues.

He wouldn't be afraid to take on police unions. Hes in favor of giving everyone a free college education. He is in favor of legalizing and regulating pot and keeping non violent drug offenses to a minimum.
He wants everyone to be earning a higher wage.
He wants to protect SS, Medicaid, and Medicare and wants universal healthcare. Black people would benefit tremendously from these policies. I don't get it.

Why would they target republicans? Republicans admit not courting the black vote and do not give a damn about black people.

It is rather strange that they haven't criticized Clinton for what she did as First Lady (active proponent of "tough on crime" and mass incarceration policies), but I don't think plain attacking back is the best response Bernie should go with. He should just put together what they are asking for, and then say "Let's compare this plan and my record with the plans of other candidates and their records."

That's literally all they want. They don't care about the past, they care about the future. Clinton is talking to them about stuff she wants to do about it, Bernie is basically only talking economics. That's an issue, but there's a lot of shit fixing the economics of race won't solve.

They are the ones trying to implement the policies which cause said group grief? I haven't heard Bernie (or any democrat) demand tougher policing for example.

EDIT: Also I'm pretty sure Bill himself signed a plethora of laws increasing jail-time for non-violent offenses (drugs).

Wouldn't the lack of an alternative make it that much more important to put pressure on Bernie?

Frankly, I don't see what the problem is. Bernie's support with minorities is nonexistent as it is. Stuff like this can only help him, if he wants it.

Why protest Sanders? Isn't he pretty much the best candidate with this regard from the democratic and republican parties? Hell, take any republican and they'll probably be actively racist instead of 'not talking enough about being against it whilst being against it'. Just seems like they're shitting the bed, but why? I'm not following it exactly, but it's quite clear he's against racism right? Maybe its a ploy to undermine him? Given that the candidates all have millions upon millions, it doesn't seem far fetched to employ viral campaigns / activists like this.

I guess that's the purpose. Of all presidential candidates running, Bernie Sanders is probably the best bet of being receptive to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Dude can't just rest on his laurels, politics is a "what are you doing about this issue now," job. He's a national candidate for the presidency, and as a result of a weak field the primary challenger to Hillary Clinton. If they're giving him shit it means they don't feel he's paying enough attention to his issues and that's fair. He's been talking mostly economics until now, but that won't stop a cop from pulling a black man over and shooting them for no reason other than being black. He's gotta address that shit more. If Biden, or another strong candidate, was in the race he wouldn't have this problem, but he's the number 2 guy right now.

Something tells me he'd be receptive in a different setting. If you want someone specific to hear something, particularly for this guy, set up a meeting. If you want as many people as possible to hear something, then you crash the only guy you can.

Does Bernie really need to focus on race-specific ideas? At some level, doesn't a man's history of support for a cause, the fact that he was an active member fighting not only for black rights during the 1960s, but also gay rights, and the rights of other under-represented groups count for anything? I mean, I understand wanting to bring your specific issue into the spotlight, but Sanders campaign has been pretty open about what he wants to accomplish, and he hasn't tried to downplay the BLM movement at all... Despite being shouted down multiple times now.

Correct, but Clinton has not done any more than he has. She doesn't even have laurels to rest on. She has the opposite. She pushed the mass incarceration and "tough on crime" policies in the first place.

And yet no protest on her from BLM.
