Xbox One and Samsung 40in 1080p Smart HDTV for $500 (Best Buy 8/9)

For those getting their first xbox one please take some time in your first couple weeks of ownership to appreciate how quiet the console is and how amazing the controller feels with the rumble triggers. Also Forza Horizon 2 is an absolute must have, even if you don't like racing games, because it's just that good.

You would have to count on buying for like $200 to $250 on black Friday for it to be a similar deal....

Yeah... Good luck with that

You can already get the same bundle, plus another controller and another game from walmart for $350, which is getting close to your estimate. It isn't crazy.

I got to my Best Buy right at 11am when they opened and there was no Xbox One bundles available. I almost ordered it when I called up my parents to see if their store had it. They did and they offered they would buy it for me as a Christmas gift. The wait is brutal, but I am thrilled that they offered to buy it for me. Do you guys think its risky to not open the TV until Christmas? I was thinking the Xbox One should be fine, but I may want to at least open up the TV and turn it on to make sure all is well.

I'd personally at least plug it in to check that it works and there aren't any decernible screen issues like dead pixels, etc.

This is subjective. I'm not sure if it's just the 1TB units, but my console is super loud and even louder than my jet-engine PS4 at times.

Incredible deal and if I didn't just pick up a PS4 I might have bought this package instead, not that I have no place for a XBOX 1 but time is really factoring in my gaming habits these days, and since I already have a Wii U, PS4 and gaming PC and various handhelds I really don't think I have room/time for one more console.
GAHHHH!.....
Getting older sucks and with that comes a whole shit load of more responsibilities.

If you are still under warranty I would definitely send it back in to microsoft for a replacement, shouldn't be too big of a hassle. It should be whisper quiet.

Ooh shit guys I just bought...

Now to decide what I want to do lol. I don't need this in my life right now...

I would highly recommend EA Access for any owner, unless you hate all EA games. It is such a great deal, especially with the most recent updates to the library. EA Access, as long as you are up to date with your membership gives you access to all the games they have in the vault (currently at 12 titles last time I checked). You basically have 100% access to these games as if you owned them outright. Incredible value.

Exactly why I didn't pull the trigger. Although I did think about doing store pickup and having them hold it for a week lol.

Is the tv box small enough to fit in a small sedan? :)

Your machine is defective then. If one thing is common,it's that the Xbox One runs extremely quiet, regardless if it is the 500g or the 1TB. Like another user stated, contact MS since you are under warranty with your unit. It should be whisper quiet when running, only time it does get a little loud, which still very quiet is when installing games from the disc to the hard drive, outside of that it is whisper quiet.

Does Kinect ever go on sale?
As a Day 1 XBox One owner who picked this deal up to get a new TV and have a second One for my bedroom, seriously I miss Kinect. Just being able to control everything with one's voice is a nice addition.
That and my wife partially agreed to let me get this bundle as I told her she could control everything with her voice. I totally forgot that MS started offering non Kinectless bundles.
But if it is $150 for Kinect on its own no way in hell I pay for it at that price. None.

Personal recommendations for anyone picking one up exclusive wise:

Sunset Overdrive
Rare Replay
Forza Horizon 3
Ori and the blind forest
Max TCOB (Get a key off cd selling websites they're usually $1-$2 there)
EA Access (Comes with Titanfall, Dragon age, PvZ, Peggle, BF4, Sports - Just remember to cancel before your month/year is up as it auto renews)
The current games with gold (So many me, MGS: GZ, Metro 2033 on 360 until the 16th)

Last holiday with all the games and stuff, the system was already at ~$250.

Its not crazy to think this holiday the system will hit $200 worth by itself along with all the games and GC they thrown in.

I don't really need the TV, but am thinking about a purchase. This could be a good this counts as your birthday and Christmas so leave me the hell alone gift.

This is such a crazy good deal, trying to get my brother to upgrade from his 360 (that I handed down to him) to this bundle since he's still using a 32" 720p TV

visit the buy/sell/trade thread. GAF members usually have the Kinect for sale. I got mine for 65 bucks thanks to that thread.

They were recently selling refurbished xb1 kinects on rakuten for $60, though unavailable at the moment. (http://bestie.shop.rakuten.com/p/xbox-one-kinect-sensor/270638054.html). You can also find one on ebay around ~ $80.

Got one for $250 last year and came with 2 games. This is an ok deal if you need a TV.

I picked it up 2 hours ago.
In the pick up area, I saw a couple of bundles are ready to be picked up.

Anyhow, I've been using 24 inch TV. So this one is a big upgrade for me. LOL

Anybody get their hands on the tv to confirm it does not, in fact, blow? Haha

Wondering the same thing. I hope its decent.

I have no way to test input lag other than my senses, but I can give a rundown on calibration options later tonight if people want

How is the overall picture quality? Are you happy with the set? I am not expecting it to rival my Panny Plasma of course, but I am hoping for a decent picture.

FWIW, I got a 55" Vizio in my Civic by folding the back seat down

Absolutely. Thank you.

It is, out of the box no settings calibrated at all yet, a nice TV. Not a Wow look at that amazing picture TV, but a nice TV. I see no bleed. No dead pixels. Lot of extras since it is a Smart TV. For the price of this bundle it is pretty much one of the nicest TV's you will get considering the price you are actually paying for it.

Thanks for the replies. That is much more like it. Under $75 would be ideal.

I need a tv at that size and is also planning to buy xbone.. Only thing holding me back is the tv seems trash. I dont want to get stuck with a tv i would loathe for years to come.

Worst thing you could do is a free return during the 15-day return period and lose out on a potential deal on the Xbox One and Samsung TV. Why not?

Never played the first Halo. Loving it! :D
MCC owners, don't forget they also made ODST available for separate DLC for like $5. Buy that shit.

Also, while not essential by any means, I LOVE voice commands while watching TV and quickly switching between apps, broadcasting, recording clips, ect. If you have some money lying around, maybe as a holiday self-gift or something, then I definitely recommend Kinect.

The joy of saying Xbox Unmute, Volume Up, turn on, ect without reaching for the remote is a nice little feature. If you're buying it for games, they are scarce, probably less than 10 available right now.
