Fighting Games Weekly |8/10-16| Gods(Beard) Among Us

I think I'd be down for a 3d fighter with extremely simplified movelists.

Been working on vf and while it's lovely, the amount of shit that can happen and the pace it tends to happen at is really scary. That tension is actually really cool but man it's a lot to take in.

Had a good mirror match against a Ken. Was troubled by his focus dash shenanigans but figured it out by round two.

Go to rematch and he kicks me.

Rly gonna stop playing me bc I figured out one gimmick? Cmon

Is there any logic behind why Sumo Headbutt is safer than Blanka Ball?

Blanka ball has way faster startup, works way better as an anti air midscreen/against a jumping opponent, has almost no recovery on whiff, can cross up/go through opponents up to the very end of their wakeup animation, on the las patch HP version has soft knockdown and blocked ex version is way safer than Honda's blocked EX version(those two are last patch only). Also Blanka is way better than Honda in the movement department.

Those are my guesses.

Sirlin did a good job with Yomi, and it's only one deck per character with no cards needed to be bought or added to play.

Pretty much a really complex ass rock paper scissors card game.

Seen on Twitter that Round 1 Arcade are getting Nesica cabs. Don't know if it's all locations though.
edit: Seems like they are testing it at one of the So Cal locations

@Jyosua: Two head to head setups. Sounds like it'll have all the games to!! Oh my god

‏@Jyosua: It has to download everything but YES IT WILL HAVE ALL THE NESICA GAMES! I'm on the verge of tears. Thank you so much @Round1USA

It's pretty cool. Whenever the printing company gives my money back I'm going to buy the Steam version, played a little of the free one earlier this year since importing the physical version would be crazy expensive.

is there any difference between the steam version and the physical copy? i've played the latter before but i wasn't that impressed by it.

Now we just need people to actually play at the Round 1 locations here in So Cal...............................................................

Thanks a lot. I forgot you mained Honda. You really put it in perspective, and that all makes a lot of sense. Can Honda not cross up?

Here's a vid about the 3s juggle system by Bafael.

Bafael has a lot of knowledge in general about the game. You can go through all his 3s vids and pick something up about the game.
This channel has all the secret stuff. And a pretty good video on charge partitioning

SRK's ST Wiki used to be very good. Don't know if it still is, I'd assume so though.

Play 'Em ;) Find someone else who wants to learn at the same level as you and Play 'Em. Did this with 3S during EVO with a friend and had a great time.
Also I'm pretty sure SRK has a 3S wiki. It also probably has good info in the actual forums.

thanks guys

I'm so glad I live in socal now lol
Well I was glad before, but now I'm gladder.

Round 1 Nesica... I don't think Nesica has Revelator though. That's on Sega's network, right?

Jesus, the mentality of this grown man is disturbing. I will admit I did laugh my ass off watching this display of immature salt.

I didn't know anything about him, so I looked into some of his other videos/grudge matches he has been in, and he acts like a child who is trying to assert himself as a man.

So if I find Rising Thunder endlessly frustrating no matter what. Do I hate the Street Fighter formula or the Street Fighter 4 formula? Because I already knew that I really don't like Street Fighter 4.

Got 3rd at my local weekly.

Really happy with how I played, I kept calm, didn't jump much and played a strong neutral game.

except against dhalsim

Sfiv. I dislike both because they share the same wavelength of dumb.

Speaking of younger players rising up and what-not, do any of the older players here feel awkward playing around the young ones? There's a tourney coming up and I think of participating but I don't know how I'd feel.

I'm 34 and play people in their teens and 20's, I don't even think about it. If I did I'd probably just feel sad lol

Rising Thunder does have FADCs, invincible backdashes, and a gem-like loadout system

It's understandable if someone doesn't like it

It's interesting that it's a modern-looking game running on a modern engine that has rollback netcode (as far as I know), which is supposed to be extra difficult to do (atleast the reason given why none of the other major titles have it). Maybe that's why it's PC only right now.
