Why black or White always? Aren't there any other colored race actors in this world? Why not go for some Asian this time? It's quite appalling that Hollywood has only majorly white cast with few black people and non existent Arabs, Indians, Chinese etc.

I was thinking more on the voice, Elba has got a really distinct tone imo. Yes, he sounds common from time to time, but he would have been a good pick. Oyelowo is a great pick regardless.

Not sure how I feel about this. I'm glad the first black James Bond has a Nigerian heritage but he just doesn't seem to have that Bond swagger that Elba's got. Happy for the dude nonetheless, it's a great privilege indeed.

Craig has one more Bond film after Spectre, people need to stop forgetting this. And that will come out likely around 2018.

Meaning the next new Bond will not be in a movie till about 2021-2022.

You need to be thinking about who will be able to be the good age and fit the Bond role 6-7 years from now NOT in 2015.

I remember this same thing happened around 2000 for the next Bond after Brosnan, despite the fact the film without Brosnan wouldn't be for another 6 years and no one anyone would mention as of 2000 would be relevant and age appropriate then.

Whoever the next Bond is he is likely in his early to mid 30's right now.

Much much more realistic of a pick than Idris Elba.

If I were to place a bet on anyone who'd be the post-Craig Bond for the 2020's it would be someone no one is really talking about yet. You don't get established movie actors who have already built themselves up a decent resume prior.

The closest thing we have had to a non-unknown was Pierce Brosnan with his tv show Remington Steel, but he did not have much of a movie career prior.

They go for people they can get in a long term contract on the cheap.

My guess is because the discussion like so many, esp on the Internet, is incredibly US-centric and the discussion reflects that. You do have your token korean/chinese actress/actor these days, due to the mainly chinese market, but only in minor roles.
