Melissa Rosenberg confirms that Rosario Dawson will appear in Jessica Jones.
Nice, love me some Rosario Dawson. I think Claire and Luke have a history in the comics. I wonder if they'll reference that.http://www.etonline.com/news/169023...um=twitter&utm_campaign=orbiiit&viewFull=true

That's the plan.I wonder if Rosario will be the Nick Fury of the netflix shows?

Should've been Ben Urich.I wonder if Rosario will be the Nick Fury of the netflix shows?
Hype.
What happened to the AKA? Was that something from the comics that they removed for the TV series?
The AKA was there because the comic the show is based on is called "Alias" and of course that's already an existing show so they can't use that.
Well, they could now. Alias (one of my favourite series, by the way) and Jessica Jones are now under the same corporate umbrella. Both are produced by the same studio.
And it is not like the Alias is still in the public's view. As much as I hate to say it, the series is almost forgotten. Some elements of it, like Jennifer Garner's looks, are remembered, but the series as a whole is not. The final season of the series actually started around 10 years ago.
Alias would even mix well, with the spy side of the MCU.
Show or movie titles are also not exclusive.
You can also see how they want to keep the two apart, to avoid any confusion?
That's probably truePlus, Jessica Jones is the perfect name for a show that focuses on a superpowered person who is just trying to pay the bills and get through life like anyone, instead of donning a leather suit and fighting crime.
Does Jessica Jones even have a superhero name/persona?
Yes and no.
I mean it is not like they tried to avoid confusion between DareDevil and the Ben Affleck movie, for example.
And it is not uncommon, that multiple series share the same name.
On the one hand, I don't think, people should be confused about it.
On the other hand I have seen poeple on twitter, who said they won't bother with DareDevil on Netflix, because they did not like the movie, and apparently thought it is the same thing.

Calling it Alias would just add a whole other level of confusion when searching or Googling the show. Keep in mind this will be on Netflix which has the Jennifer Garner Alias show on it and that would show up any time someone tried to search for it there. It just doesn't make sense to keep it when there's a better fitting alternative.
I kinda wish it did, but that is besides the pointAlias with Jennifer Garner has nothing to do with marvels alias.
I'll always be mad about that. Fuck Karen.Should've been Ben Urich.
This.I'll always be mad about that. Fuck Karen.
That's all true, but if they want to avoid names that are already used, why didn't they for example add a subtitle to the DareDevil series, to avoid confusion with the movie, which can also be found on Netflix.
Or what about The Defenders?
There are like at least 3 more TV series with that name.
The could have also kept the Alias title, by calling it "Alias Jessica Jones" wit some optional punctuation after the "Alias".
There's zero marketing reason to keep the Alias title. It has no value at all. It's an obscure limited series which most people will have never heard of before. We're not talking about something like Avengers here.![]()

Melissa Rosenberg talks about Jessica Jones' powers:
No surprise that they going the more grounded, less fantastical route here.
What we've learned so far about the upcoming superhero "psychological thriller" — and what we remember from the original comics — hints we can expect something pretty grim.
Get Ready for 'Marvel's Jessica Jones,' Which Might Be Netflix's Darkest Series Yet
Bumped into David Tennant yesterday. He tells me this is still filming? I'm guessing he doesn't have a Kingpin-level of presence in Jessica Jones?
Based on that article he sure does.
Here's a weird Netflix quirk! Out of curiosity, I increased the number in the URL for the Jessica Jones series (http://www.netflix.com/title/80002311 ) by one digit (http://www.netflix.com/title/80002312 ). This code, and the 12 following it, seem to give episode titles for the entire season of Jessica Jones! Some have running times already listed too, which means they must literally already be on the Netflix database, waiting for release. Assuming the titles are on there in order, here's what they are:
1x01 - AKA Ladies Night (52m)
1x02 - AKA Crush Syndrome (52m)
1x03 - AKA It's Called Whiskey (54m)
1x04 - AKA 99 Friends
1x05 - AKA The Sandwich Saved Me (50m)
1x06 - AKA You're a Winner (54m)
1x07 - AKA Top Shelf Perverts
1x08 - AKA WWJD?
1x09 - AKA Sin Bin
1x10 - AKA The Kumbaya Circle Jerk
1x11 - AKA I've Got the Blues
1x12 - AKA Jewel and the Power Man
1x13 - AKA Smile
Really looking for this, but I've got my fingers crossed it doesn't run out of steam like Daredevil did towards the end.
