Looks OK. I'll pick this up for my Zom fix before the Dying Light expansion comes out (If it's £20 or less).

Isn't it due on PSN tomorrow? Any idea on price?

Looking a bit framey. Can't remember how the original ran.

Very curious as to what changes they made to the melee combat.

If I haven't already started the game on Wii U do you guys just think I should wait for this version?

I still dont knoe how are they gonna pull off this game without the gamepad, plus the improvements revealed so far dont seem worth of a double dip, so maybe not

People vastly overplay the importance of the gamepad in this game. It's neat, but not central to the experience.

$19 is a good pricepoint for this- although I feel it will lose alot of its charm without the gamepad-

In a year with Dying Light this is a hard sell-

-is the framerate somehow worse now?

Doesn't look great visually imo. Are the frame rate drops the game or Twitter? The camera is pretty ropey too, when cutting to and from cutscenes.

All the constant back ad forth from first to third person is more jarring here than it was in the U version as you were always looking down to the gamepad to manage your inventory, etc.

It doesn't seem to me like they changed much so it it really is 20 bucks I'll skip it. I have already played it. Maybe if it is half off or more down the line.

I can't seem to find out anywhere, has this have coop?

No. It's single player only. The multiplayer mode from the Wii U (which was arena based, not campaign) has been removed.

There was an online feature where if a friend died in their game their zombified body, with their loot on death, could appear in your game. Strength relative to their survival length. Not sure if that's in this build.

I'm not too smart in the tech aspect of games... can someone explain to me why the framerate looks the way it does? Like it doesn't look like it's dropping frames. It's like it slows, it actually gave me a bit of a headache.

Been a while since I played ZombiU, but I don't recall any frame rate issues, at least none that were particularly distracting, on the WiiU.

If you already have the Wii U version why would you want to play a downgraded one?
(obv not talking gfx here)

Play it on the platform it was designed for if you already have that one anyway.

Give it a go on Wii U. The gamepad stuff is nicely integrated and adds to the tension of the game. I imagine it would be a lesser game without it, but I'd take a sequel wherever it shows up.

I think this new release adds some additional melee weapons, which is much needed so that's a plus for the new version.

Without the gamepad it's a somehow average game, actually. That doesn't mean that the tension can't be done without it in the port and reading through the description of the changes they might have done it the right way, but we haven't seem it in action yet or had any impression about how well it works. And that was exactly the point in the post you answered to.

So without overplaying or hating the gamepad, we don't know yet if it's worthy of a double dip.

The lack of WiiU features and no multiplayer, makes this the worse version of the game.
Anyway, good to see more ppl playing the game, it's a survival horror of heart!

This game filled me with an anxious dread. It was great, but i won't be playing through it again.

Agreed. The best part about the gamepad implementation was when the character would speak through it as though it was a walkie talkie and the PS4 speaker can do that just fine.

Is the Dark Souls style stuff in this version like leaving messages and other players zombified survivors entering your game?

Can't see Twitch at work, but that sounds like a +1 for the gamepad...

I think the framerate issue is twitch or whatever recording device they're using, because that looked bad even for Ubisoft.
