MGSV:TPP LAUNCH TRAILER

Anyone notice in that final shot of all the main characters in the game there's a dude with a mask on? These fan theories are driving me insane.

Love Big Boss's new digs though. Hoping that gets made into a Project M skin real quick.

Where did this fan theory that Skull Face is Snake come from anyway? It makes 0 sense. We see Skull Face in Ground Zeroes interacting, we have him on tapes and in no world could Boss and Skull Face switch places or be one and the same. The entire last year's trailer is about Skull Face. I just don't get you guys at all. For me the trailer had minimal spoilers, the only spoiler is MG walking upright and that's it.

I think people need to remember that REX was designed to use a massive railgun to launch missiles using magnets. System limitations of the PS1 aside, the large stocky form makes sense to allow the rail gun to sit the way it does.

I had someone send me an angry PM over making a joke about what "beast mode" was in Bloodborne despite the fact that it was 1. Obviously a joke, 2. No one in the world knew what "beast mode" was or entailed, and perhaps most importantly, 3. There is no beast mode in Bloodborne.

LMAO!

Pretentious song? Check.

Shaky cam? Check.

Much worse than any of the E3 trailers.

I don't know if "pretentious" is the word, but I'm with you. Every time a new MGS trailer comes out, people go ape shit over whatever song they used, and I always think "Really?" and bite my tongue. No accounting for taste.

Suddenly I am wondering why Miller is walking around with a stump and no arm while clearly they have the technology to give him robotic replacement limbs.

I am sure its part of his character since it seems like he is all angry and stuff in the trailers and by the end he will chill out, get new robo limbs and go join the scouts or whatever he becomes.

Diamond Dogs didn't have the budget because Big Boss spent it all on cigars.

I fully expect their explanation is that a humanoid MG still isn't feasible on it's own, but if you have Mantis supporting it, he can essentially manipulate it's body like a corpse, which is kind of badass honestly.

or the old: The Patriots held tech back line.

It is badass though.

Looking at it again, it looks like it's not really any different than REX in it's normal state, it just has the ability to unfold it's legs fully into an upright position.
For all we know, REX could have had that feature and we just never got to see it, or Foxhound never got to have Mantis use it.

Patriots hiding that would make sense too.

Nah, my prediction here is that he's going to lose everything again at the end like in GZ - Or start over fresh, or something that transitions into him leading FOXHOUND.

Something that wipes his resources, so he won't be able to afford to develop some super-advanced Metal Gear - And something that puts him out of contact with Huey, so he won't have his expertise on the subject of designing and building a Metal Gear, leaving him to resort to the series' resident Butt Monkey, Dr. Madnar, to build it.

This is just speculation but it appears this new Metal Gear can fly?

You can see jetpacks near the head?

Metal... Face...

(Also yeah, I'd imagine Kojima would retcon the old Metal Gear designs since they clash with the artstyle of Rex and Ray)

Bit hard to account for the TX-55 though, since its the one that never saw any action.

The back stuff reminded me of the things on the back of the outfit Screaming Mantis had in MGS4, which weren't Jetpacks but probably something to help use her powers, I would assume that's how Mantis can manipulate something that large.

Man, I feel weird. I'm so excited for this game next week, but this trailer just hits me like it's Kojima's goodbye, and it's heartbreaking. Such a mix of emotions for me right now.

Are the two PW outfits that Snake wears during the transition scene usable in the game? I know that you get the GZ one if you transfer your save but haven't heard anything about the ones from PW

As I mentioned in another thread, the tech in MGS-5's world seems from 2084....rather than 1984....I know it's not aiming for authenticity for that time-line, but still....
