There's a specific drop point you have to choose. I can't remember which one though.
Dont think you even need to be on a mission to get DD. I got him while just exploring. I noticed him barking while fultoning some sheep right after the mission I saved Kaz.

He is very fucking useful. I had him during my fight with Quiet and he kept her marked the whole time.

Need help with a certain sniper
Quiet
.

Is there any way to do this easily without the
tranq sniper rifle
? Don't have the R&D or Med Bay levels for it even if I rearrange my staff (and I would have to do so AGAIN if I die because YAY NO AUTOSAVE) so it's a bit ridiculous running back and forth getting one shot off from the pistol at a time before
she goes invisible and moves
. Getting extremely frustrated. Any ideas would be great.

You can re-do the mission, you can even make an alternate choice and undo anything you aren't happy with. Just shoot her with the regular sniper,

I can see a lot of new comers (which i am sure there are due to the hype) being so confused at the story lol and not get any references to the old games. I would definitely recommend looking up some videos of old games or better yet play them first. Those are amazing games and MGSV should not be even attempted for a playthrough if you have no knowledge of the games lore.

It's extremely confusing and does nothing to help or ease anyone in. It's crazy when you think about it. This game is a huge release across two generations of both consoles and PC, and all the supporting characters and major plot points were introduced 5 years ago on a hand held game.

Finished mission 3
1
and
credits start rolling but the game is like "Bitch...this isn't even my final form". It was only Chapter 1 and I am like barely over halfway wow !! I forgive the game for having filler missions.

Votes aren't necessary. MGS4 is bad as far as the series is concerned, and if hadn't been the much hyped 'Last iteration of the Metal Gear Solid saga' it would have been viewed as such.

Everything after Act 2 relies of nostalgia and revealing secrets. Act 3 onwards might as well of been a comic book.

What are you even talking about? MGS4 is amazing. It's all about the wink and nod, my friend. It's satire. I said it a couple days ago, MGS is an action movie satire, MGS2 is post modern art, MGS3 is the Bond satire, and MGS4 went so far up it's own ass it's actually MGS satire. It's spectacular.

Ok, I don't know if this is part of the game or not but you know how you need to enter your birth date at the very start of the game?
Well, it's my birthday today and I just turned the game on and I headed back to the mother Base and they had a surprise birthday cake for me and all the crew are wishing me a happy birthday.
.

Does anyone know why, after researching the heli upgrade, the first one is still the only one selected and I don't seem to be able to change it?

I did it with the normal Sniper Rifle.

Yep. When I rolled into that fight with him, I was like, wow, this seems too easy since he was constantly calling her out when I lost her.

So I'm trying to extract the wandering mother base soldier and he's nowhere to be found. Anyone else having this problem?
Edit: saved and quit, found him instantly. Weird glitch.

And just you wait to see what MGSV has in store... Just you wait... MGSV actually out-ridicules MGS4. Shit's gonna be glorious for the fanbase.

If you have DD, let him sniff the soldier out for you. Get in the general area and have a mooch. He'll find him for you in no time.

Are the two PW outfits from the launch trailer in the game? Heard that they become available for research late in the game but haven't found solid confirmation yet

complete opposite for me. opening spoilers

The opening is good, but it's literally an amalgamation of the worst last-gen cinematic gaming. Shaky cam, control taken away from the player 100 times in an hour, crawl 5 metres, stop as the camera focuses on something, carry on, stop, carry on, stop. On-rails shooter section at the end. All it needed was a QTE segment and we'd be set. fucking hell it even had a "i'll shoot this guy while you shoot that guy" bit.

I stilled liked it, though :)

On a different note, fucking Gerbils are everywhere :D

Is there a way (pc verison) to set up your own playlist in-game from the cassettes you find?

I've found a few great songs I like but they are usually on different cassettes on top of having songs on those cassettes I don't really like.

It'd be great if you could just select songs and make it into a playlist of your own to play, so you don't have to go through menus and select them everytime you want to play it.

I'm at work. I really don't want to be at work. I want to be at home playing this game. I beat chapter 6 last night and I just... I just...... ;-;

I just took it as a tutorial for new players as well as a taste of the craziness to come.

You have to go into Mother Base->Customize to change it. It doesn't auto-upgrade like your weapons. Yes, it's stupid.

The FOX engine is so beautiful. Everything combined it looks so lush in motion and pictures. Especially when you zoom in from a cliff and scan entire horizons just taking in all the little details.

I loved still being impressed by games both visually and in terms of scale. MGSV achieves both.

Prepare for disappointment, because the next few missions are ones you've already done.

Well it's like everything else in the game, it has a gmp cost for using it and for some situations you don't need to spend 12k GMP on calling in the chopper.

23 hours played, 12% done.

Those numbers blow my mind for any game, let alone an MGS game.

Also, reading through the guide, I'm surprised there's not a bigger backlash over the other FOBs beyond the MB coins, given the GMP cost and time it takes.

Mission 13:

I've gotten to africa, and the scenery is much more interesting, but I'm wondering why I still haven't found a transportation fucking specialist. I have passed up so many supply crates and vehicles because of this one thing bottlenecking me. Is this found on a mission at some point or have I just had horrible luck? I vacuum up everyone.

And that GMP cost is minor for faster deployment time. There's no reason for it to not ask me if I want to auto-upgrade it like it does my weapons.

Just saw it and yea you right but is it temporary or stay like this for the rest of the game?

I couldn't tell you, I'm pretty much where you are. From what I've seen though that's pretty much it for the rest of the game. It's killed all momentum and has really soured me on what was a totally incredible experience up to now.

So I've been playing MGS5 since I bought it yesterday.

The game itself is really fun. I think MGS evolved in a very good way imo.

But the more I play and the more I'm liking this game,
the more sad I become to the fact that I probably won't be able to see another MGS like this from Konami... (and Silent Hills for that matter)
Very disappointed and depressed.

Maybe for me, it would have been better if the game sucked,
that way I wouldn't have to feel this sad.

Seriously it's the most impressive game i've ever seen.

How the hell they pulled this off to make the game look this good running at rock solid 60fps is beyond me.

Like how Kojima Productions? HOW??

I just finished that mission last night and apparently I found one there somewhere but he had to go to the brig. Never gonna get cargo 2...

Just a tip for those who are going into the
Quiet
fight without a Tranq Sniper.

You can fulton boxes on top of her head and take her out with two boxes. Locate her position, mark her with your scope and then mark your fulton drop on her. Just be sure that she sees you every now and then until the fulton drops or else she can run off.

You waste zero bullets and it doesn't kill her.

Holy shit hahahahaha, I repurposed all my team members to make sure to have R&D/Med level 15 but this is great.

Is there a specific place I can find the D-dog puppy on Mother Base? I want to record something with it but can't find it any more.

If that's true then that's incredibly lazy and disappointing and both Kojima and the game itself should get flak for this. Would have been a better experience if the rest of the game was included in before this mission and the game finished here....would have kept everyone happy including the ones who found the storytelling and cut scenes sparse(such as me).

Peace Walker 2.0 in every sense...meh
