One down. Let's have a good opening game instead of Preseason Week 5.

The thing that the NFL needs to realize. Even after getting manhandled in court and people demanding change. Once week one starts, they just need to talk about a big name player having an amazing game and all will be forgotten until next off season.

Ain't a pats fan, but I want Brady to win the Super Bowl so fucking bad now. Just to see Goodell up on the stage with MVP Brady.

The thing is the Patriots are still viewed as cheating. All this did was say that the NFL was overreaching with the 4 game suspension as a consequence of the cheating.

The fine for CHEATING is still there

the loss of draft picks for CHEATING is still there.

I said it the moment this whole story started... It doesn't matter. Fans of teams other than the Patriots have always thought they were cheaters for the Tuck Rule, for Spygate, for any other ridiculous things (headsets not working, WiFi being shitty in the club room, the portopotties being kinda shitty in the West parking lot, etc), so this doesn't matter.

Kraft should have never accepted those punishments. He fell on it assuming the league would do the right thing based on the leagues utter incompetence to build a case against Brady, and Kraft was wrong.

JABEE salt rant been posted yet?

My first thought when this news broke was #GOAT, but my second thought was... Somebody honestly has to check in on Jabee because he's in a very dark place right now.

-- edit -- I had a photo of one of those Samaritans "Desperate" pictures here. But it's insensitive to people who are desperate and I've removed it. Joking about the NFL with Jabee is one thing, but making light of somebody who may have feelings of desperation for other reasons isn't right. --

CBA. Players gave in on that compromise for a larger share of revenue.

I understand that the CBA provides for it. My point is that a judge reviewing a decision from a neutral arbitrator as opposed to a management stooge would not have been nearly as critical. The NFL isn't getting the benefit of its bargain when these cases keep getting overturned.

Wish I hadn't been in meetings when the news broke - what a great day. And a great day for not just Pats fans, but anyone who believes in law and order and loves football. Once again, you can all thank the New England Patriots and Tom Brady for making the NFL a better place.

Community thread is glorious.

So a court system that excuses evidence in favor of common sense sounds better to you?

The verdict pretty much admits that Tom Brady had full knowledge of the balls being deflated. It isn't about evidence, it's common sense that you're not allowed to deflate the football. But because he wasn't informed that he did nothing wrong. That's how it is being described. That's a joke.

This is wonderful. This whole thing was the dumbest fucking "story" ever created.
So glad that once the season starts we won't here about it much.
The NFL looks like a joke.

Oh man, if the Patriots win the Super Bowl this year...

Roger: Congratulations on back-to-back wins, Bob, here's the trophy...
Kraft: Uh, no way bro. You're handing that to TOM.

Kraft would totally do that too.

LOL @ Kraft for accepting those penalties, though. He plea bargained when he should have went to trial.

Just finished reading the 40 page report. Holy shit, the NFL got fucking crushed. Mostly due to their horrible ineptness and the blatantly obvious partiality. Are these guys really lawyers?

It's funny to see all these children desperately hanging on to the "bu bu bu but theyyyyy cheattteeedddd! :'("

Make no mistake, the judge didn't buy the findings of the Wells Report. He wasn't asked to rule on it specifically, but all throughout the proceeding he was critical of it, and his ruling contains a lot of thinly veiled subversion concerning its findings and those responsible for them.

And anyone with half a brain could simply read it and tell how bad the science and methodology were. It was a complete hack job prepared by an organization that admitted to not even knowing temperature will cause a football to lose pressure.

Just let them hold on to their flimsy excuses and raving lunacies. They don't have much else in their meager existence.

You forgot #FreeHernandez

Let's also just clarify: Bob Kraft's testified against Aaron Hernandez and that testimony put him behind bars. Hernandez is a convicted murderer, and I know that other NFL fans see PSI allegations and smoking weed the same as murdering somebody when it involves players on another team, but, don't embarrass yourself.

Uhh, it actually says the complete opposite. That there's no evidence that Brady was "generally aware" that balls "more likely than not" were deflated. Pash is questioned by Berman what the evidence is of that claim and Pash replies that he believes in the integrity of Robert Goddell. I quoted this from the ruling on Page 6 or 7, 50ppp.

They just need to get it out of their system. Some people seem to have a lot of pent up frustration. It's healthy to get it out there.

I don't know if it's a good idea to make fun of this with a suicide hotline picture.
