Because it's not a spoiler? She was in the trailers and in the game she is just "there". You have had literally the same amount of narrative build-up as I have.

Tell me how it can possibly negatively impact your experience? Thanos all over again...
How about you just go ahead and tag it considering the vast majority of responses to the post have been negative. It's pretty simple.

I miss ONE FUCKING TROUBLEMAKER and what does he do? He immediately kills Malak, the only fucking anesthesia specialist. There go my tranq pistol and sniper upgrades.

Fuck this system so much.

e: also fuck you jackpot

What are you supposed to do with them? Just get rid of them?

How can you tell who the troublemaker is anyway? They all have these symbols but don't have a clue which one indicates a troublemaker.

Press Y/Triangle/something on PC to show detailed info about recruits, it'll say their skill is "Troublemaker" if they are, well, a troublemaker.

I'm gonna try redoing the Malak mission, but I'm not optimistic... Seriously who the hell thought this would be a fun system. Incapacitate them for a while, fine, kill them permanently? No, fuck you, definitely not fun. Jesus christ.

What are you supposed to do with them? Just get rid of them?

You can have diplomats around to soothe them, but I've just been dismissing them entirely. There haven't been that many, anyway.

Can you guys stop repeating "Wtf spoiler alert" and answer my question, your spam pushed me to last post on last page so no one noticed it. Plus he edited his message ages ago.

Also I finished whole game (well I think so - again, now I have questions) and didn't encounter scene from guy spoiled. So in hindsight it actually helped me since I didn't realize there were hidden triggers for some story cutscenes.
No he hasn't. Anyone reading through the thread page by page is fucked.

Man am I playing this game right? Early mission spoilers

Doing Mission 6, Fine the Honeybee. I feel like I'm playing the game wrong. I just played for 4 hours and didn't finish the mission. First off it took me soever to get to the mission area as you gotta cross this big bridge first, that alone took me an hour and a few restarts. Then died to the attack chopper a few times. Then I'm in the mission area, look all over and can't find anything about the stupid honeybee. Now I died so many times the game spawned me in the chicken hat. Thats when I gave up. Everything in this game is so damn tedious. Like the horse is useless, between its jank ass control and how fast you get spotted on the road while riding. Ugh what am I missing here?

There's certain miscellaneous tapes in the world that are probably meant to go with that feature.

IE, the Afghan Lullaby, or the "Recorded in the toilet" tape. If I'm thinking correctly since this is an MGS game, I'd say those two would have effects when played in speaker mode, such as putting guards to sleep, or scaring a soldier away from searching the porta-potties if you're hiding in it.

Of course though, if so it's damn impractical due to the menu crawl and load times to get to those.
I wish I could access the cassettes more easily and that they'd automatically pause themselves when someone talks to me mid mission. That last one couldn't have been difficult to code.

Yeah. that's my biggest pet peeve. I wish it was easier to control cassettes instead of having to go through like two submenus. Especially on PC, just let me map media controls or something.

Edit: I'll ask again since last page was a spoiler shitstorm, where do I find the brig on motherbase?

Oh this is a fun trick I just noticed

You don't have to walk up to every troop in mother base to raise their morale, just use whistle (with DD as your buddy), bionic arm sonar or knock to boost morale troop in from range, seems to be like 10 meters.

How do I find the wandering soldiers?

I'm in the blue circle but can't see them

Your in the wrong part of the blue circle.

if this is the first wandering soldier there is a more detailed explanation in the spoiler below.

go up the mountain

Lmao I'm extracting a target out of a house and I turn the corner and bump into an enemy. Without thinking I tried to cqc him but instead threw the body of the target at him and knocked him out. Glorious.

Yeah that's one of my 2 major complaints.

- Auto-pause tapes
- Option to turn off pre-mission credits

Please that's all I want in a patch. Both are so incredibly minor and easy to implement too. The auto-pause even makes perfect sense. Like.... the iPhone does it in real life. And even if that wans't the case, who picks up the phone without turning down their music?

Holy shit! I just did the tank convoy mission, and the way it played out was fucking amazing. The way things can just come together is really exciting. I was scouting out the village from across the road, and I noticed that there was a good approach from the left cliff path, but there's a sniper positioned there watching. So i tried to find a way around, but it wasn't looking good, then my intel team suddenly told me a sandstorm was approaching. FUCK YES! I positioned myself waiting for it to hit, then ran like a motherfucker up the path while in the cover of the storm, and tranq'd the sniper before he knew what hit him. Then I carried his body as I went further in to find a good place to hide and wait.

Once the storm passed, I tranq'd another two guys, dropped the sniper's body in the open, and fultoned everyone to attract the attention of everyone else so they would start coming out to look. I grabbed the first guy to get the location of the operation base in the village, and climbed up to it before anyone could notice and got all the intel.

Then I tried to rambo the tanks in the open with a basic rocket launcher, and died like a bitch, lol. On a retry, I exited the operation base housing, and made my way back through the side cliff where I came from, and started laying C4 all over the path, then I called for two more supply drops and laid more C4 all over and hid behind a rock waiting for the convoy to arrive. The C4 took out the first tank instantly, but only managed to damage the truck a little, and the commander got out and started attacking me. I shot him up with a rifle but he wasn't dead, ran up.... extraction chance 30%.... I took my chances, but it just wasn't his day to survive. RIP.

It took like 5-6 more hits from the rocket launcher to take out the other tank, but it turns out that large pieces of rock in Afghanistan are immune to tank shells. So it was BIG BOSS - 2, TANKS - 0. :P

All the soldiers from the village started coming after me, but D-Horse is just too fast for them. Mmmmmmm.

I literally just finished this mission right now and took a break because of how intense it was.

I haven't unlocked a rocket launcher yet so I went into this mission thinking I could do this with C4. I stealthily gathered the intel and decided to set up an ambush point near my deployment area because of the lack of guards in the area. I set three c4 up and headed to higher ground to scout and execute my targets. While I was scouting I revealed that the human target had really high MB stats. I decided to try and somehow extract him instead. I waited for the convoy to be somewhat clear and I detonated my three c4 as both tanks were on top of it. I barely scratched the tanks and I see them rotating their fucking barrels towards me. The human target gets out of the truck and is shooting at me as well. I'm sitting their shooting as many tranqs as I can while I see the tank barrels finish their rotation directly at me. The tanks start shooting at me. Luckily, i'm on higher ground prone on a wedge rock that is protecting me from the tank shells. With my screen shaking from the tank fire, I manage to tranq the human target from about 75m away and eventually see the "Zzz" icon while i'm pinned down by two fucking tanks. Eventually the two tanks bail out and start speeding down the road away. I sprint to the human target, extract him, and whistle for D-Horse. Realizing I have no explosives I pull up my iDroid and see the tanks speeding down the road on the map. Anticipating their movement down the road, I call for a supply drop, then decide to try Air support for the first time since im in the menu anyways.

I'm panicking. I'm on D-Horse trying to sprint ahead of these 2 tanks. Eventually I get near them but reflex mode kicks in when the two tanks spot me. They start shooting at me on D-Horse while we gallop like hell swerving to get ahead of them and dodge the tank shells. Finally ahead at another choke point, I setup another ambush leaving D-Horse and my single c4 left on a narrow road. I execute again..I blow up the first tank and it looks like I messed up its treads because it starts to veer off the road into the rocks. My supply drop finally comes and I sprint to get more C4. The second tank turns its barrels away from me and starts shooting at something else. I look up and see my air support shooting its machine guns at the tank. With both tanks distracted and trying to swat down the chopper support, I setup two C4 on the first tank, destroy it, and follow suite with the second one. Mission Complete. I cant believe how quick all that happened and the quick decisions I had to make. Right now I feel like a fucking Big Boss. I understand now about people saying making your own set pieces.

The game didn't fully click for me until this point. Nothing really wow'ed me because of how much I spoiled myself watching ever bit of gameplay and trailer. But now....im seeing how everything perfectly clicks. it took a while for me to get used to this open-world structure. Its so untraditional from what I remember metal gear games to be but I can tell it is, at its heart, still a metal gear game.

Just to check, does constructing base upgrades require the game to be running? I mean I assume it doesn't, but I don't want to go off for a late dinner and come back to still needing an hour when I could have left it on.

Okay, this is super minor, but am I the only one that's noticed that the bikini pin-up model (the one you use for the Cardboard Box) is a modern day bikini design (rests on/below the hips) instead of an 80's bikini (goes up to the waist, has a deep 'V' design). It's not time accurate and it's distracting...but the iDroid though is time accurate.

So, I've just finished Mission 12, and it's been a while since I played Peace Walker but...
Was Miller always this much of a dick? I thought he was a bit more 'happy go lucky' in Peace Walker but here he just seems so negative on everything and everyone. I get they've been through some stuff but his reaction to Quiet arriving was crazy and I was really expecting Big Boss to put him in his place after that.

Thanks for sharing that, that is a cool experience.

I haven't done that mission yet but it's queued up next time I play. I do have the basic rocket launcher though.

He does something worse later on too. Are we supposed to like this guy? Because I don't.

Did you play mission 1?

Have you looked at him?

You don't have to cross the bridge. You can go under and go up the stairs on the platform. Then you will see a hostage taking the soldiers to where the honeybee is in a jeep. Kill them and fulton the prisoner out to get the location of the honeybee. It's in a cave

He's a demon now.

I really loved the cassette called Cyprus an island divided since I am a Turkish Cypriot. Great game

People always mock Kojima as a writer, but his knowledge on so many different things such as history, culture, science etc is really something. Dude just has an encyclopaedic knowledge on so much and always injects it into his works.

It's hard to say exactly what you're doing wrong, but just make sure you properly scout the area and look at all the routes you can take. For example, in mission 6
if you scanned everyone at the bridge area you should have identified a prisoner who could give you intel. I alerted the guards so they took the prisoner away from that area, but I assume you can Fulton him at that base if you're sneaky. You also don't need to cross the bridge the normal way. I took some stairs to the scaffolding underneath and climbed back up on the other side.

Just stay low, scout the area, and try experimenting. If you're having trouble then try a new loadout or change the time of day. Don't feel compelled to restart when you get caught either. Triggering an alert and escaping can be beneficial, as it will pull most of the guards to one area and leave other sections undefended.

Eh. I can't tell if the game is getting more difficult, or if I'm just burning out.

(Late game spoilers)
All these extreme and perfect stealth versions of earlier missions are absolute trash. They are really putting me off. It just feels lazy, and forces too many restrictions on the player. There is zero use for them.

You see if you're the same person after (GZ, and Very Early Game Spoilers)
losing your best friend to a coma for 9 years, losing everything you've built in your professional career, and losing your arm and leg and being held as a POW.

Miller's arc is one of the strongest aspects of the writing, imo.

you should rarely be getting spotted on the horse. if you see enemies slouch to the opposite side and just ride past them from a distance.

Where abouts do I find
Quiet in the medical departement? I found another little secret but not her.
Edit never mind done it.

Thanks for that, I had no idea, the only thing I've seen
her
in any of the trailers was when they showed the scene from
her exploding in Ground Zeroes
, I haven't seen anything in the previous couple PP trailers. Instead of moaning back at people who didn't want to know about it before it happens for them would it have been so hard to just spoiler it?

Yeah, game needs to be running

Ah, I will leave it running then.
