It's useful for for side ops misisons to find old GZ soldiers
play love deterrence on the speaker and the soldiers just come to you
 
Is selecting "Return to ACC" from the menu the same thing as calling the chopper and having to board it? Is there any reason not to do the menu item?

You have to keep capturing more of those "Wandering Soldiers" in Side Ops
which unlock more photos to show her, which in turn unlock more scenes. Complete all of them and there will be more cutscenes.
Also, I'd spoiler that out.

You can also visit
Huey at R&D next to the massive black shutters on the North side of the platform, down the stairs at certain points in the story too.

How do I manage my combat units (like I have all my staff in the combat section, but I want to manage the 'units' like unit a, b, d, etc)

Oh god I accidentally pressed X instead of Y when trying to get on D-Horse. I didn't know a human being could KO a horse by superman diving into it.

Semi-spoiley speculation:

That CS seems to be enabled by completing the first "lost member" side-op and receiving a photo memento from completing it. I'd guess that doing the other side-ops in the sequence and revisiting Paz in order to jog her memory is going to eventially trigger something. "True" ending maybe? Seems like a classic trigger event.
 
I upgraded my R&D platform to 2/4. It says it's done, but it won't finish or unlock. Does anyone know what that's about? Please help.

I edited in for ammo(for free) , and the who;e shower thing. But maybe if the supply drop is not very expensive? Also what about the new MB staff? I am guessing you probably dont need to go back to MB for them to be assigned? Still doesn't make sense why the whole chopper/MB thing takes all so needlessly long.

That particular spoiler is spoiled for a lot of people when you beat chapter 1 and the game plays the chapter 2 "coming up next" trailer. It was spoiled for me that way.

I wonder how many percentage of players actually got to be surprised by it.

If by managing you mean assigning staff to different divisions then press R3 when in Staff Management.

If you're talking about Combat Deployment then you do so when you select the dispatch mission and select "Customize" or something.

As far as I can see there is almost no reason to not do this while doing side ops.
I haven't really tried it during main ops as I feel like most of the time the extraction is part of the mission but I think as soon as kaz says "alright now get out of the hotzone" you should be able to just return to ACC.

I agree. And that's why I always found the reasoning for him having fewer lines in this game to be weak. I never bought it.
 
Random question but does anyone know if the official OST has come out yet? Been dying to put Sins of The Father and Quiets Theme on my ipod.

Thanks. I got into the customization but it keeps saying I have insufficient unit staff to run this mission :/ I'm not sure what to do. Is there a tutorial menu or something in the game?

Edit; I figured it out, I needed to add medical staff to one of the units. Didn't know I could use other staff than combat.

I played and saw it this morning but I guess I didn't pay attention to that part because it surprised the fuck out of me.

That should be ban worthy. I wasn't spoiled because I already went through that but I if hadn't played this morning, you would have fucked it up for me and for sure would have messaged a mod to get you the fuck out of here.
 
Just broke my mostly pacifistic approach by mowing down a huge fortress with double sniper fire w/ Quiet. No survivors, no alerts.

Would feel bad, but I'm already a demon.
 
When staff are auto dismissed because you're maxed, does it dismiss the shittiest ones or does it do it indiscriminately?

I didn't get spoiled because I watched the trailers, but do you have any idea how many people avoided those trailers in order to go in blind while still wanting to participate in the OT? Don't be so self centered.
 
So I've been reading this thread and noticed that I've probably missed lot of stuff. I mainly just went for main missions and side ops with only time going to motherbase when story demanded it or Kaz telling me so on radio.

Also have lot of questions after reading post where
poster found Paz. I mean I didn't even know that there are some hidden triggers around the base. Also someone mentioned the interrogation trigger for Quite. The only 2 cutscenes with her I saw was when she arrived into the base and when she chased random soldier with the knife. Did I miss anything else? How those scenes trigger, if you can tell without giving too much spoilers? I've beat Metal Gear and now in "Chapter 2". This is another question, is Chapter 2 just minor story stuff and essentially New Game Plus with harder repeats of same missions?

Also by storming through story, any way to catch up on side cutscenes/stories I might have missed in the mother base?

Hey guys in MB is there a specific place where DD/Ocelot/Kaz hang out where you can see random dialogue or something? Other than when some of them are at the LZ when you arrive.

Also how do you choose something to play on the damn helicopter speaker, bought the thing, can't seem to have figured it out.

I want to know the same thing. Ocelot keeps saying to visit DD but looking around the base there are only other soldiers saluting, nothing else. No where to go inside or anything.
 
Absolutely loving DD so far. Glad to be rid of that dumb horse.

Where's the brig located? Ocelot says I should visit with
Quiet
but I'm not sure where on mother base to find it.
