You guys really can't tell the difference between Ocelot and Kaz? Kaz is usually really angsty or skeptical, and Ocelot is usually the one dropping Wikipedia bombs on you. And he's also Troy Baker with a bad cowboy accent.

Haha, that's a good way to think of it.

...Still can't half the time. And Snake's VO only makes it worse.

Mission 12s difficulty spike was a bit jarring. I cleared out the power plant before the mission start to have it all respawn after. That was a bit annoying!

Did anyone destroy the tanks in mission 8 with C4?
I used C4 to destroy the jeep, the 2 soldiers hopped out while it was on fire then tried to hoof it to the destination while the tanks quickly outpaced them, and I tranqed and then extracted them.

I then took the armored vehicle you can steal through the side path to the place from mission 6 which is where the tanks end up going and destroyed them from the cliff, and none of the soldiers had any situational awareness and could identify where the shots came from that blew up 2 tanks. Ez

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Thank you for the replies!

To think im 13 hours in and only at mission 5!
Took nearly an hour and a half on that one alone!

Yeah I love taking my time and scoping the place out. Means I never S rank it though but that doesn't bother me, can re-do it if I ever want to platinum it.

EDIT: I stuck subtitles on, so can tell between kaz and ocelot quite easily :p

A question about mission 7

I killed the three targets and got an S, but at the end of the mission Ocelot tells me that we'll never know what they were saying in that meeting.
Will this influence anything in the story? I'm worried about my chances of
getting the true finale since i never read the requisites for it.

Yeah I can't believe there are people who have beat the game already :lol

Mission 5 took probably that long for me too (even if I thought I was really clever when I found a crack to climb which got me almost right to the objective). Mission 6 has taken even longer and I'm not even done with it.

I love the mix of short and relatively simple side-ops and long, epic main-ops so far.

This probably isn't spoilers, but I'll spoiler it just in case

You can put
anime girl posters
on your card board box? That's not very stealthy.

Golgo 13

The Man With The Golden Dong
Anyone have the strategy guide? Is it worth it? Doesn't spoil anything? Would love to hear some feedback on it, just thought it'd be a cool companion piece to the game

Only one of them is a bad cowboy impression, though? Unless it's so "bad cowboy" that it approaches "not cowboy."
EXACTLY sometimes he just slips out of the accent and starts sounding like kaz. Usually during the scenes with kaz in them. It's bad. I thought I was getting used to telling them apart but 30 hours in and it still confuses me sometimes.

Hearing about a difficulty spike is making my stomach churn. I'm already bumbling around from alert to alert at mission 6.

Anyone know exactly how individual recruits' skills upgrade? Is it based on combat mission or experience over time? ex. if they're veterans they get a skill boost?

There's one recruit with a special skill I'd like to use in the field but their other ratings suck. Wondering if I could "train" them up.

Beat it on PS4, had a ton of old gift cards laying around, thought I'd go 360 for a second playthrough.

Curious how it holds up.

Is this like replaying on European extreme mode?

Plz everyone tell me your stupid emblem ideas/word combos

My framerate dies whenever I enter the word editor for emblems... so I removed them.

The blackest of black ops--that's how Diamond Dogs roll.

I think they're forever bound by their base (white) rating, but with high enough morale they'll get a (green) boost to their ratings, giving them an effectively higher rating altogether. It won't do much for E- or D-rank soldiers, but highly ranked soldiers will see huge boosts.

Was about to get me my C4's (in the middle of the road) when...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz9QsAE2h10

damn you truck!
I left D-Horse in the middle of the road to make a jeep stop and the guys inside to tell it to shoo and instead of doing that they just ran him over and kept going. The tank behind them decided to stop though.

D-Horse was fine, also. Guy is tanky.

Nah, that's madness. I used my rocket launcher and then stole a even bigger rocket launcher from a truck as the mission went on. Got a S in that mission too!
That's mission 9, mission 8 is the convoy one with the 2 tanks and a jeep.

hahaha no mercy these trucks I tell ya. Could have been me in that box too!

Oh my bad. I used that anti armor vehicle for that one. Easy stuff.

"Now that you're not sleeping and we're not junkyard hounds. We're Diamond Dogs."

Even if Kaz's lines are overdone , they're still great.

I was nearly spotted by a guard in Afghanistan after dismounting D-Horse. Thankfully, he was fascinated with D-Horse and chased him ("Shoo! Shoo!") around the perimeter of a rock instead of looking down at me.
He is dead now.

Ok, yeah, that makes sense otherwise there's really no reason find specialists in the field near the end game.

I'll just have to go hunting for high ranked folk!

Oh god. This game is just a masterpiece. With where it
"sorta makes you think it's the end" I would have been quite happy with that, (If it wasn't for the unanswered questions), in terms of content and length, but I know there's still more missions to come!
and Ive literally been playing SOLIDLY everyday from Saturday and it's nearly been a week and I've been doing all the side ops when I get them and I'm only just over halfway through them I believe...

What will be painful though is S ranking and completing all tasks... I've been doing every mission not wanting to kill anyone and because of that, some missions have been literally TORTURE to try and get through, hopefully S ranking will be OK with kills
Struggled particularly with retaking the platform and the skull face mission

I think I'll be playing this game for quote a LONG while from the looks of it. Well done Kojima and Team!

Haha Kaz is so dramatic it makes me cringe. My girlfriend wanted to see the game I was so excited about, and she walks when he's all "There's no room for angels in our heaven". I'm top embarrassed to show her "Played like a damn fiddle".

extract female prisoner
today I could do the same mission again, same place, same goal, same everything o_O
It's not that it didn't register the mission the first time, I ran into
her
on MB yesterday
wtf.

also lol tried to rescue a prisoner, raised alarm in the process, still picked him up, tried to escape, people shooting at me, barely made it out alive, finally safety, time to fulton him, no fulton icon, wtf, .... he's dead

Whoah @ the shit that happens after the first Wandering Soldier side-op.

So it's got to be a hallucination or mind manipulation. 9 years passed yet "Paz" hasn't aged a day and still has a fresh scar from the chopper incident. Someone is playing Big Boss LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE!

Oddly enough I think my biggest gripe with MGSV is the fact that all guns are fake guns, it makes it hard for me to distinguish between the different types of rifles and guns. And there are only a few that use existing body types so I've literally just been referring to them as "the first assault rifle" or "the tranq pistol" or "the rubber bullet smg/rifle" but it feels weird man.

I liked having real weapon counter parts, made it easier to identify things by shorthand.

Also it's a bit of a shame since MGS has always been great with it's real life weapons modeling.

So I was stuck at work all day having just got to play the first two hours last night. Next mission is mission 3. I was going through the prologue in my mind, trying to work out what to make of it, all the hallucinations and stuff. Then I decided to watch some Ground Zeroes cutscenes to refresh my memory about how Boss actually went into his coma (because the way I remembered it he pulled Kaz out of MB and they got away).

All I can say having rewatched GZ is wow. Just wow. I had to go back and watch the prologue to MGSV again. (Also I think GZ's final cutscene was better than anything in TPP so far but it's real early.)

Alright, I've got my caribbean pork marinating for dinner in an hour... let's get to mission 3!

Oh shit you're right, I hadn't even connected the dots like that.

You'll only use about 5 of the weapons anyway, probably, so it isn't a big deal.
