How quickly did everyone get the fulton upgrade that allows you to pick up the big shipping crates? I figured it would be pretty early but I still haven't upgraded enough. I'm probably only on mission 8 though so if it's a just keep playing thing I guess I'll just keep at it lol.

I'm not anywhere near close to that. I still have to get the one that lets me move vehicles.

I find it kind of ridiculous that (mission 23 gameplay spoilers)
Big Boss somehow cannot get a kid into a chokehold. The God of CQC keeps letting the little shits slip under his arms. How the hell?

So is the ability for the helicopter to move you to and from different points on the field an upgrade or does it just not exist? Seems like a major oversight if it's the latter. Maybe I'm just missing it.

Don't think such a thing exists and it sucks. I think you can move to different platforms on Mother Base though.

Do you mean being picked up in a helicopter and then being dropped in the same location without going back to the ACC because thats what I thought you were talking about, sorry if it wasnt

The Boss probably didn't teach him how to do it :P

Wouldn't that put the whole map on alert? Probably wouldn't be faster than the cardboard box or just returning to ACC and redeploying either, if it's at the same speed as the chopper ferries you around Mother Base (i.e. at a snail's pace).

I'd take a silly excuse as to why they don't if it meant getting around just a little quicker.

This game is real time. You can cheese it.

If you know the location where the truck starts you will complete this within 2 minutes.
if the guards still spawn there, it's not worth it, that's the only way i'm restarting, is if they don't spawn. because it's not extracting the fucking thing that's the problem, it's getting out

Is there a reason I'm wasting millions on steel to construct these enormously long bridges between each node of Mother Base?

I could cut construction costs by 1/3

... And which union construction worker left a beast diamond on the medical platform?

....... And why is Quiet sunbathing topless on the shadowy brig?

So Stamatopoulos was chasing me with
Emmerich
over my shoulder and the map, apparently cut short, was warning me of abandoning the mission. Had no idea why it was going on. I'm supposed to be running and taking cover behind rocks, right? Well I tried to run around or run back the way I came and sure enough the game just forces me to abandon the mission. Not reload the checkpoint but it just straight up quits the mission on me where I stood. Emmerich bamfs out of existence. I get a message telling me about free-roaming and I have to start Mission 12 all over again from the beginning losing all progress.

Lame.

I see some people sometimes "complaining" about some of the comments by Miller or Ocelot, I guess it's just the English version. I'm playing the Japanese version and their comments don't seem obnoxious, though I'm getting tired of the same explanation for every soldier (it's usually accidental, not meaning to get info on the soldiers), knowing that they used to be from Eastern Asia and now it's mostly russians, etc... they could have added a couple more variations!

Oh and this is my chopper song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBcYWXVzJiU

Every time the chopper comes by, it becomes so dramatic and melancholic. I will probably change it to something more energetic sometime down the line.

I just finished the prologue. What the fuck man. My jaw was literally open for almost the entire thing. I have no idea what to expect anymore.

How did you deal with them last time? Do that

Also I love you d-dog, but youve got to stay away from tanks when I'm shooting rockets at them

This is killing me- where the fuck are (late game side ops)
the remains of the man on fire
?

I have scoured every inch of this base.

Edit: Never mind.

Finally unlocked the F.O.B. option, but Konami's servers are shitting the bed to where I can't see if I can turn it on/off to point at and go "see, From. OPTIONS" for Dark Souls. >:|

i feel like, at least early on, this game kinda makes it more efficient to go the lethal route

The tranq pistol is so underpowered; short range, slow moving bullets, 21 shots and a suppressor that breaks after like 14. My strategy has evolved to Marking everyone in a base, placing Markers on any high-rank dudes I want to keep, then just murdering everyone else. I'll come back and do non-lethal runs when I've got better equipment, if it's necessary, but I'm getting a lot of S-ranks anyway.

S ranked the mine mission (mission 16?) but did not like that second half at all.
Not only is it an escort mission but you got to drag this broken-legged kid around with you too and halfway through they discover the kids are missing ugh

used d-dog for good results but an upgraded quiet might be the way to go next time

Complete the 3 legendary gunsmith side-ops (they unlock after mission 13 I believe). THen you can customize all your weapons, and add a suppressor to the sniper.

The zoo is a separate facility from the main mother base. When you click 'Go to motherbase' from ACC and you're looking at the mother base map to pick a landing spot, it should say "Hold Y (or Triangle I guess) to access zoo (or whatever they call it). You can also hold Y or triangle when you first get in a chopper from Mother Base too, I believe.

Cool thanks :). Game is amazing I know alot of people are saying that the missions get repetitive but I'm having fun exploring and tackling missions on different approaches, but
Besides Afghanistan and Africa are there other areas in the game? A simple yes or no don't name them please :)

Edit: Also does D Dog always follow you even when you tell him to wait? I'm afraid he's gonna get spotted and give away my position.

Tranq pistol is so OP.
Go into a base and shoot everyone once with a tranq in succession, and watch as they all fall and pillage and plunder

This game is full of op things and tranq pistol is low on that list behind d-dog, quiet, tranq rifle, sniper rifle, missle launcher, reflex mode, regen health, supply drops, fultoning, etc etc

Thats what makes it fun though

why did miller build a zoo platform tho

it'd be so much more fun to have goats and bears wandering around mother base

that'd be an awesome reward and it'd go a long way towards making motherbase feel more... well interesting

I thought the NGO that pays you the money built that one.

Nah, Miller funded it. The NGO paid him and the staff to maintain and keep it up until they could take the animals off them.
