Well the theme is amazingly well made, but it was completely wasted on Quiet since all the scenes with her are so stupid they're verging on parody imo. With 7 missions left to go and little change on that front I can't see much room to change that either. I actually wish we had a different buddy tbh, not even just because of the scenes but because she's so useless. I stopped bringing her on missions since she's never at the same outpost I'm at.

I actually really like the character. The design is ridiculous obviously but even in spite of that I think she's pretty cool. Also you can tell her to scout a specific outpost, she's not as broken as D-Dog but she's far from useless.

An easy method is to stop the convoy with a vehicle once it has left the airport. Then crawl under the first armoured tank so you aren't detected by the skulls and launch sleeping gas strikes. Two should knock them all out. Then you can also Fulton the driver out too to complete the optional task.

That's a great idea though I will never go back to that mission, after he KO'd her he took all of my bullets and 4 rockets to kill. I only managed that after 4 other tries miserably failed. They pulled the truck down after I tried to fulton, I tried to shoot one but that blew up the truck twice, I called an airstrike on myself by accident, and I totally missed the truck

Mission 40 is hard to do legit, I mean damn you almost get no time to line up a shot.

But I

called for sleeping grenades air support. Then during the hit I shot her. Then she runs to the pool and shot her there again. And finally had to finish her by another air support.

The handgun gets unlimited surpressor for a maximum rank but I don't think I've seen a medium durability surpressor yet.

It loses glass piercing though so weak against helmets.

So do Combat Units level up if you play as them? I noticed some of my A soldiers got up to A++, but I don't know if it's because of the dispatch missions or just playing as them doing side ops.

If so, is there a hidden rank cap for each soldier? And how do you level up other units from R&D/Support..etc?

iDroid, send her to scout a base. She'll automatically get into firing position after finishing. Enter the base and use Cover Me. She'll just fire away and distract them until they're all down.

Well damn, sounds like she can do a lot better than I've been getting from her then. Don't get me wrong I love having all these options in the game but it would be real nice if the iDroid UI made things like this a little more obvious. There's so much in that menu I often forget where critical options are, let alone finding the ones I've not yet discovered.

Anybody ran into a problem where the items development time kept on refreshing and never finish? I made sure every time that the game autosaves before clicking "Return to ACC"

I don't think you can. Grade 5 weapons have infinite suppressors, but at that point they are weapons that will instantly make enemies fall asleep without headshots

If you look at suppressors in weapon customisation you'll see that there are three dashes under durability and low takes the left most one, so I think it is possible to increase.

The fact that a thing such as "Suppressor durability: Low" exists leads me to believe medium and high exist too otherwise how have it there in the first place if all suppressors will have low durability...unless you use a grade 5 weapon with built in suppressor.

If there is anyone who has trouble finishing the legendary gunsmith side ops despite doing side ops 107 about legendary gunsmith (anyone who has trouble with it is probably halfway through the game by now) here's what you have to do:

In order to get the second legendary gunsmith mission which is side ops 108 you need to have finished side ops 143 and side ops 10 (Secure the UA-Drone Blueprint). If side ops 10 is not available for you then you need to do side ops 06 (Stun arm) first for it to appear.

If you finish side ops 108 but 109 doesn't show up then you need to have finished side ops 144 before doing 109.

These issues exist when there are multiple side ops in the same location, the game won't give you the other side ops unless you have finished the one the game gave to you that is set in that area.

I just unlocked the gunsmith stuff today and I'll add that you'll need to head back to the ACC every so often to "refresh" Miller to get him to open the next Gunsmith side ops.

I think different pistols have different suppressor durabilities.

I imagine that you have to develop pistols with suppressors, then put those supressors on the weapons you want via Weapon Customization.

EDIT:

Just checking now, the Level 5 Burkov pistol has a maximum durability silencer. So you'd probably have to develop that, then put the silencer on the pistol you want.

Only an hour to go until I develop the
fulton wormhole
THEN ALL SOLDIERS WHO FEEL ASLEEP WILL BOW BEFORE ME AS THEIR NEW GOD.

The alert mechanics in this game are fucked

How's this bloke in a truck driving through a village at night seen a guard that was unconcious inside a closed building?

I've got 4million GMP saved up so today I'm going to dev every pistol with a suppressor and see what I can find as far as durability. But all the ones I'm currently able to see are low. As the guy above said since they say durability low and has 1 of the three boxes filled it stands to reason that there are medium/high ones. Then again, these games sometimes have a lack of reason so maybe not!

Man I did mission 21 over 7 times.

This game is fucking BRUTAL with checkpoints. Spent 30 mins infiltrating and whole base on alert? WELL FUCK YOU BITCH RESTART AGAIN if u die.

Swap and change. I put an Assault rifle (I think, it definitely came from that or an SMG) suppressor on my Sniper rifle and its at 2 durability. I also put my tranq pistols suppressor on my sniper too... that lets you do only 1 shot :D

I've really taken to playing like a total extreme commando. SMG, Assault Rife, and rocket launcher; shirtless; no showers.

Feels pretty cool.

I'm fairly sure they do. I remember a character levelling up from A+ to A++ whilst I was playing as them and completed a mission. That said, I carried on using them for other missions and didn't see their rank go above A++. Maybe it only happens for missions and not side-ops - I can't remember which I was doing at the time to rank them up at all.

I couldn't find anything on this in the official guide - it might be buried in there somewhere.

Interesting! So the suppressors aren't weapon specific? That is very good to know.

question about combat deployment.

I have extracted few tanks and have them on my disposal, but for some reason I cannot initiate this deployment saying I don't have the vehicle. Do I have to get a different type of tank?

So I've put about 30 hours into this so far and, genuinely, I think this is an absolute masterpiece and it'll very likely be my game of the year (with big contenders like Bloodborne and Witcher 3 nipping at its heels)

It reminds me so much of some of my favourite games like Far Cry 2. I just love the choice given to the player and the amount of options available at any given time.

1. Start a mission in stealth, complete the mission stealthily
2. Start a mission in stealth, everything goes to shit and call in my loadout specifically for battle.
3. Go in guns blazing, call in fire support and bombard the fuckers with airstrikes.

etc etc.

I love the open world as well. I completely understand the complaints about their not being much in the world but I really like that. I love running about the world, just listening to the wind howling with my headphones with my buddy - taking out outposts along the way - before getting to the next superbly designed stealth area. It's such a perfect mix, this is a game made for me.

I can see why this game is so devisive for some Metal Gear fans in the storytelling department. It's there but still minimalistic compared to the other Metal Gear games but I love how gameplay focused it is and how it tells its story. Hell I even love Keifer as Big Boss, I think he does a grand job especially in the tapes. The only one I find strange is Ocelot but that's just because I'm so used to Ocelots grandeur and over the top spouting. Troy Baker does a fine job and it suits the games vibe very well.

Just such an awesome game and it honestly completely took me by surprise. I didn't expect this kind of gameplay focus by Kojima and his team and I'm so fucking pleased and yet sad that this is his last MG game.

I have spoiler tagged it in case people would prefer to be surprised:

Start mission 21, something happens complete that then you can build an FOB from the base development area.

Thanks!

Yep! And I should have spoiler tagged it so I will now.

You must do the side ops about extracting a gunsmith. You do this 3 times and you get the legendary gunsmith who allows you to apply paintjobs as well as use other weapons stocks, grips, suppressors on other weapons

"Demon Points - Another feature basically never mentioned in the game. There is a Demon Score that you gain points for by doing dick things (basically killing people). This will effect how large the horn in your head is."

wat

Thanks!

I already have
the gunsmith and I messed around with it last night but I didn't have a ton of weapons developed since really I only used the tranq pistol, the starting AR and a sniper rifle

Without spoiling anything big please...

Is there any ways to eventually upgrade the silencers on your weapon to last longer or to have more than one for each weapons?

I'm not really seeing anything about that in the tech tree.
