also, anyone did the wandering mother base soldiers side ops? No idea if it was a bug or not but when I tried, I had to retrieve this guy and he was running around like he was possessed or something, I couldn't put him to sleep so I killed him (after a LOT of bullets) and nothing happened.
what's going on here
He doesnt sound particularly angry to my understanding, more thoughtful."You destroyed the enemy air radar? That's not one of the targets."
Why do you sound so angry at me whenever I do this Kaz?!
why THE FUCK my A rank dudes die in the 95% of success rank E difficulty missions? Let's forget for a moment the %, why would those die instead of the E-D rank ones. this is really stupid.
Have you been toIm starting episode 21 andno sight of Quiet yet. Have I fucked myself along the way by not doing side ops or summin?
Of course I do. But even then there's always something that pops up and fucks you over. You almost cannot play this game hard stealth.
Lock anyone who speaks Kikongo and continue with your story missions as soon as possible.

So taking out base comms still results in other bases having the alert level raised to moderate if you get caught. Strange, considering the whole point is that communication with other bases is meant to be cut off.
God seriously? That's more than half of my people. Lost at least 5 level of each department. Going to be a nightmare sorting everyone back to where they were. Frustrating as hell.
Have you been to?Aabe Shifap Ruins in Afghanistan
It's not a bug. That's the way they are.....You have to tranq them with headshots. That's the only thing that will work.after 9 years of wandering around
Alternatively, if you get close enough to CQC them, after you do an interrogation they'll recognize you and let you fulton them. It's not a bug. That's the way they are.....You have to tranq them with headshots. That's the only thing that will work.after 9 years of wandering around
Is there any incentive to starting a mission during the day? Night is so much easier
I assume that should be possible. AlsoNot sure anout that name but she was sniping me early in the game but Miller told me to ignore her and focus on the mission. So I did. Can I return there and get her?
"Boss get down! that's a Sniper, stay low and crawl on the ground" thanks kaz
Nah,you can also walk up to them in a cardboard box and let them come close and grab them.
Or you play "Love Deterrent" over your loudspeaker and they'll come to you too.

Oh! Yes! But i's unchecked. I must've missed it.I assume that should be possible. Alsodoes episode 11 show up in your list ?
Wow lolI love this post, because it's actually Ocelot who says that.
There you go then! Good luck!Oh! Yes! But i's unchecked. I must've missed it.
I guess I could do that, at least I'll avoid these stupid deaths. That's why you never send 'A' rankers to do an 'E' rankers job - you never know.
I see, will try again when I get the sniper rifle with the zzz bullets then. It's not a bug. That's the way they are.....You have to tranq them with headshots. That's the only thing that will work.after 9 years of wandering around

Couldn't agree more, it's obviously a very big change for the series so it's easy to understand why some fans might be disappointed with this direction, but as someone who loved old MGSs to death (besides 4 and PW as well) I can't really be mad on this game, what Kojipro has achieved here is wonderful, it's not 100% MGS, but it's such a well crafted game that for me, set the bar high for open world gameplay and freedom, overall I'm very happy with the final result and this has a great chance to be my GOTY.I can see why hardcore fans of the linear, scenario/narrative driven formula that composes MGS1/2/3/4 would be disappointed. I think this is faulted if you play it too much like other open world games, since it's quite barren, empty, and generally lifeless. I'd like to see the same idea explored with more emergent, dynamic events in the open world, kind of like what MGS4 was trying to do in Act 1 and 2.
That aside, I'm enjoying it more than MGS4 and PW by a long shot. Probably the best in play the series has ever been, even if that results in the narrative taking a little bit of a back seat. I'm glad the send off for Kojima's vision of the series shows that the games really can completely excel on gameplay and don't need narrative or cinematic elements to elevate them. It's a secret successor to Far Cry 2 (a game I love), and in some ways reminds me a bit of Delta Force (probably the settings and feeling of encounter approach). All the core gameplay systems are incredibly satisfying to play and the stealth and combat are beautifully rewarding.
I like it more the more I play. The highs are easily the series highs for me. Long stretches of intense, open stealth and emergent combat followed by interesting, show-dont-tell bookend cinematics. It's weirdly the most not-Metal Gear Solid as you knew it Metal Gear Solid I've played, but the identity is still there, and I feel KojiPro is accomplishing what they were conceptualising as far back as MGS3.
So yeah. Great, wonderful game. Can totally empathise with people who are disappointed or find the change in direction unfavourable. But personally I love it.
I see, will try again when I get the sniper rifle with the zzz bullets then.
For the deployments I just choose the lowest level of soldiers that can still accomplish with a 95%HE'S COMING TOO? OK THEN
I guess I could do that, at least I'll avoid these stupid deaths.

lol nice.
I have one S rank and it was a (what I thought) completely botched attempt where I had to shoot my way out. You can definitely kill people and even raise an alarm. Speed seems to be the #1 most important factor.Man. Game gives you all of these sweet weapons and really wants you to not kill anyone. I read earlier that it's fine to kill some people and still get an S. Is that true? I'm usually a stealthy player with no kills but I think I'm trying to play it too much like a no kill or alert play through and not seeing a lot of the options I could be using.
Usually my first run through a mission is pretty sloppy. How are you guys treating it? I'm only up to mission 6 by the way.
It's not a bug. That's the way they are.....You have to tranq them with headshots. That's the only thing that will work.after 9 years of wandering around
Just unlocked D-Dog as partner. Seems fun to use but I can't live without D-Horse. Wish you could have the horse as a vehicle and D-dog as the buddy. Would be a great combo.
Miller: "You destroyed their anti-air radar?" Seriously needs to become a meme. I have a chuckle whenever I hear him say it now.
Need help on Mission 14:What the hell is going on? If I tranq the interpreter, I'm told I need to follow him. But he just goes to a house with his buddy and sits there and never moves... I'm playing at night... Am I doing something wrong?
