Can someone please just explain if this was a glitch or not, I'm pretty confused...

Quiet was about to join me as a buddy after the ridiculously cringe worthy shower sequence... and then Kaz stops her from getting in the helicopter and then she stays at the base. When I get into the helicopter, Ocelot then starts talking about how I can now select Quiet for mission deployment?

Am I going crazy here?

I think the cassete tape explains that
Ocelot just gives you the go ahead to secretly take her with you. His reasoning was that shes a skilled sniper and that if Kaz finds out its easier to just apologise instead of trying to convince him. He just goes on to say it easy with her skills to leave the base without people knowing because of her "abilities"

That scene happened to me long before the shower one. There's probably some sort of trigger to it that you completed right before you went to do the side op.
Oh weird... Maybe it was because I hadn't been back to Motherbase in a while.

Thanks, I figured something was funky about that. The order didn't make much sense.

Thanks, that helps.

Going through all the Side-Ops trying to get final mission to pop

so do I still have to
beat the harder versions of the old missions, or will the final mission appear if I just play all the side ops?

not down to replay old missions at a higher difficulty -_-

Don't ruin this for me

They even use mortars and fire wildly at your approximate position if you hit an enemy's helmet without killing/knocking him out. Having Quiet act as bait even makes it reminiscent of MGS4, with the enemy pre-occupied with someone else while you sneak past.

wtf

I just rescued (not really a spoiler but jic)
Kojima
again?

also cutscene was a mix of this game's Kaz rescue and when this same thing happens in GZ

I've got clones in mother base now I guess

I think it was just in case someone didn't do Ground Zeroes or importing. I laughed at that revelation, though. I figured it was Ground Zeroes exclusive.

Fuck the stupid ass Hellbound Mission

Episode 12 Spoiler:
I was at the last part where you have to run away from the Metal Gear. So naturally I hopped on D Horse and ran far the fuck away. The screen fades to black so I think "Great, I beat the mission"

NOPE

I left the mission area which forced the ENTIRE FUCKING CHAPTER to reset

On mission 24.

Can someone who has finished the game tell me which mission number (in spoiler tags) has cassette tapes for 'sins of the father' and ' love will tear us apart'.

I cant miss these songs. They have to be my chopper jams.

Just the mission/side op number. Dont tell me what happens in the mission or whatever. Thx.

It's gonna take me forever to complete this game, or even just the main story. I'm just starting mission 6 and I've played for 10 hours and 23 minutes so far according to my stats, haha.

Get the Fulton for vehicles and it'll be a cake walk. Otherwise, brace yourself.

Ended up doing the extreme version of it later in 10 mins.

Besides mission 29 is the real bad one ;)

I have that, so hopefully it goes smoothly.

In other news, I just did four of the "practice" missions at mother base, and then died when I was about to complete the R&D platform one, which is a pain in the ass. Lo and behold, I reset to a point where I haven't done any of them. Holy shit.

Early in the game when you first go to MB I did all the tutorials and threw a guy off the base at the end which failed the mission and booted me back to the opening cutscene. I don't think there are ever checkpoints given when you're at base. :|

I've been using Quiet lately and I was surprised that the game doesn't count her attacks as an alert even if the whole base is freaking out, running around trying to find out who keeps sniping them. I was mostly just experimenting with Quiet and I assumed she'd set off alerts - the enemies were even sometimes firing at my position. But somehow I ended the mission with 'perfect stealth, no kills'.

I might use her more often as it's cool that she scouts out positions of 'objects' on top of 'people'. And D.D. is just way too overpowered so I feel bad using him.

I made mission 19 a comedic effect. Hell, this isn't even a spoiler, but I'll tag it anyways.
I got all the relevant people together, chucked magazines to bait them into a giant pile. Went through 3 supply drops of supressors trying to tranq them all, it wasn't going to happen. Just chucked sleep grenades and then fultoned everything I saw.
S rank as per usual.

I don't know sadly, I'm just doing both to make sure.

So, I have no idea if this was asked before, given the 350 pages, but when is DD grown up? I'm on mission 6 now, just wondering how much longer until I can take him out on missions. Also, does it die easily? Do you have to take any extra precautions? One last question, when do you unlock Quiet?
Thanks.

Do a couple of missions and he should grow up

Just keep doing main missions and you will unlock both very shortly.

Edit: he can't die. If he takes too much damage he gets extracted automatically.

Takes a few missions. Give it time.

It does not die easily. If anything it makes sneaking past areas Easy Mode.

Quiet can be found during a Side Op in a certain area after a certain point but you'll have to figure it out :p Ocelot will let you know when she is spotted in the area.

Couple of missions. I only got a warning he was in danger once, and he just got auto airlifted from the area. For the most part enemies ignore him unless you tell him to attack.

Finished C2W Subsistence with an S rank after a few retries. Even though it's blatant filler, I actually like the concept and execution of restricting the player to OSP, makes infiltrating, completing your objective, and getting the fuck out much more tense. Had a bunch of armoured guards to deal with. Ended up just distracting a group of guards with a KO'd body, then lobbing a grenade at the comms station, and finally running for the exit.

Give it a few more missions for both those things.

As for his durability, I had D.Horse walk in between me and a tank as it was firing, then get blown up by C4, then blown up AGAIN by the tank's explosion and he just got up and walked away. D.D seems similarly durable and is much less likely to get blown up because he doesn't do stupid horse things and is ignored by enemies.
