Unlocked mission 46, but it's 4am... Goddamn it, gonna have to do it when I wake up

Btw, isn't 45 an actual main story mission, too? It's not unlocked for me.
Unless it's the one where Quiet leaves, for which I'd have to have full affinity with her?

Forgot to post this shirt I got recently. Really like it ;)

Where the hell do you get the puppy? I can't find him anywhere.

And besides "just cuz," what does deploying as not Snake do?

At the beginning of Mission 4. You can replay that mission and find him right outside of where you land. Just be aware you need to replay that whole mission again for him to actually go back to Mother Base.

dammit brehs I hit a game-breaking bug in TPP that might force me to restart completely ;_;

Ouch.

This is what I'm afraid of, open world games are rarely bug free and with the one slot autosave mechanism it would suck to have the game ruined after 40 hours.

Already hit one weird glitch where I was just driving a car in Africa, nothing special, and suddenly the game skipped to the ending cutscene of that mission.

After episode 20 spoilers

Is it even possible to extract him? Kaz implies I can and I try running interference on the balloon popping kid; nothing works. No idea how you do the side objective of landing a shot on the kid. Can that work?

So this is an R&D question related to bionic arms:

if I use mobility 2 for instance, do I still get the perk that comes with mobility 1? Or do I have to choose between them?

question about weapon customisation

I know you can get a legendary soldier to help with weapon customisation during a side op, is the side op done in Afghanistan or Africa, I have done quite a bit of sideops in Afghanistan and yet to see anything regarding a gunsmith

Jesus, the scene with Quiet
in her cell and Ocelot giving you his assessment of her is one of the most creepy and objectifying scenes I've seen in a long time... I was cringing the whole time

You can, but I did it with the Wormhole Fulton. That said, Kaz radios in and says he cut the lines and vanished.

is the
emergency mission
how FOBs work?

that sucked :/

got killed without knowing there was no checkpoint or anything

apparently the mission is just "cancelled" even tho there were some new guest starring characters? never saw em

Possible episode 29 glitch
I have all the skulls downed and there is nothing left. D.D. can't find shit and I still can't extract or pick up Code Talker. PLEASE tell me I don't need to reset because of a bullshit glitch.

I wish I understood why Snake has a big spike in his head, and one less arm than usual—you know, considering he has neither afflictions in chronologically-later games.

I'm sure all will be explained... in time.

It's a couple of sideops, and
both locations are in play.

You can replay it after you do the mission you were on

for anyone who purchased the flare grenade for the chopper how does it work, I am out in an open space no buildings around then the chopper goes to a different location....what gives?

CRAZY padding in Chapter 2.

Pretty inexcusable. A lot of the missions they choose were the worst ones too. Cloaked in Silence on Extreme was the worst.

They could have left these chapters out completely and the game would have been the same. I really don't understand why they're in the game.

The only major negative I have with this game and it's a shame because Koji should have known better, it's the same fucking shit that plagued Peace Walker as well.

Indeed.

About Chapter 2, i haven't repeat a single mission yet and i still progress in story.

Just do some side missions and more story stuff will unlock.

Not even just the "Do the same mission again, but with a difficulty modifer!" but
all these side-ops that have go to the same damn place to extract Object X. Like they really needed to get as much use of the level design as possible, so you sneak back into all these previous spots to rescue kids and Volgin and AI pods and shit. It doesn't really matter, its just an excuse to sneak back in the same areas again and again.

I guess they figured they couldn't just have wall-to-wall cutscenes, but they also used up all their great original level design assets. Welp.

Gettin' real tired of extracting about 30 soldiers, clearing a huge camp and then dying
to the skulls.
Checkpointing system is starting to get to me.

I've barely begun playing, after the base tutorial mission I went into freeroam and he was right next to the landing zone when I loaded in.

Regarding the medical bay secret, I got something new out of it.

Big spoilers of course.

I returned to Paz after completing the wandering mother base side missions, that is I completed a side op then returned to her to show her the picture.

Always the same result, she describes what is about then feels tired and falls asleep, she talks asleep btw, and can say some interesting stuff later on.

Anyway, after completing the sixth side mission I returned to her and had the same result, then I exit the room and entered again, whatever picture she saw will now be ln the wall and I like to see it.

It was different this time, when Snake entered a new cutscene triggered.

Not as mineblowing as the first, but seems as her story is developing.

Note that you must also beat mission 32 for this to work.

Wow, this game really is Peace Walker 2.0

Post-mission 31 spoilers:
I'm already getting more story from the highlighted side-ops and cutscenes than I've been getting for the entirety of the "main" story. I just don't really like the recycled story missions from earlier just with more difficult parameters.

So I'm 25 hours in and loving the game so far. For those who've finished it, a question about the story. No spoilers please. Just want to know if the game concludes in a satisfying way. Saw too much pre-release about there apparently being a weak plot, I've seen people in this thread say plot points have been cut, or that the ending is too abrupt.

I've always played Metal Gear for the story and whilst with this game it might be the gameplay cinching it for me, I'm still probably playing this more often than I should be right now and so it'd be great if I knew it was all leading somewhere good.

On another note,
just unlocked Quiet for missions. Is there any way to stop her from humming over the radio all the time? It got annoying quick.

So, I've put almost 30 hours into mostly free roam and a handful of side ops, but I've only completed 11 missions. All of my MB units are at 2 or 3 platforms, and I have level 3 tools. I think I'm going to change gears and save nearly all the side content for end game and focus on the campaign with some urgency. The plot is getting way too watered down by my ocd compulsions.

Are there any essential side ops not listed in yellow for which I should keep my eye open, despite an ambiguous mission description? I would appreciate just the ops number as to limit spoilers.

Chapter 2 padding is a bit of a miscommunication I think, though I'm not yet there myself. The impression I get is that like Peace Walker's padding you're expected to clear X amount of missions post original endgame to trigger the new endgame/chapter sequence. MGSV provides you with a number of "main episodes" to do this, but most (if not all) are recycled 'extreme' repeats of older missions. But you don't have to do them, and can instead opt to clear unresolved side ops. Regardless of which you chose, it's mostly about clearing enough missions after the first end to trigger the second one.

Correct?

Puppy came to me at the beginning of the third mission as soon as I jumped from the elevator. It is totally random afaik.

On that note when does the puppy grow into a dog that I can take into missions? Is there a specific mission I need to finish for that to happen. I did missions 1-10 except 8 and 9 which recommended I have a rocket launcher and I didnt have it at the time.

IIRC of missions
32-46, 9 are repeats. The way they're doled out is in groups. So you'll get one new mission and then a set of 4 repeats along with it.
It's a really lame way of artificially lengthening the game, although admittedly some of the missions are fun. Others are nothing more than a chore.

Atlteast the sideops don't spoil things through credits.
