Yeah, probably, PS3/PC are interchangeable depending on how well the PS3 version does in Japan and Europe.
A million in a month.Do we know how much Ground Zeroes sold?
Do we know how much Ground Zeroes sold?
My predictions worldwide are:
PS4 > PC > PS3 > XBO > XB360
I think the PS3 version is going to do better than a few people here expect. I mean idk, I feel like we shouldn't be sleeping on it. I may be way off the mark though lol. Only time will tell I guess ha.
And lol at PC being on the left side of peoples predictions,
Do we know how much Ground Zeroes sold?
~2 million.
That's not a hard prediction to predict. The U.S. should be the same.
I would put PS3 in front of PC though.
Life time? Yeah I can see that.Lifetime? Pretty safe bet. PC has an incredible long tail.
You forgot to include FY2014 Q4.
Unfortunately Metal Gear wasn't there from what I remember, but you're right, it should be at ~3 million by now.
Life time? Yeah I can see that.
Thought they was on about first month.
Sorry, I don't get what you mean there? But yeah, PS3/PC are interchangeable.
MGS will always sell best on PS platforms.
Konami Digital Entertainment shipped 2.26 million units of the METAL GEAR series to retailers worldwide in the final quarter of FY2014. These units are mostly attributed, but not limited to the launch of METAL GEAR SOLD V GROUND ZEROES.
In the first 9 months of FY2015 total shipments reached 1.99 million units for the METAL GEAR series amounting in a cumulative 4.35 million units sold between January 2014 and December 2014. Of course not all of those sales will be attributed to Ground Zeroes as some shipments will be attributed to other games released during that period or before that period + Digital sales of older games.
You know it's bullshit right? I mean obviously MGS5 has the best gameplay not only in the series but in the entire stealth genre, but every MGS game had more than a decent gameplay, they were great gameplay wise.First MGS with gameplay that's actually half decent, so good for you Konami.
I enjoy these threads just because we could have gotten the same exact announcement a month before launch as well "Konami [planning] to ship 3 million copies of MGSV during launch week". Initial shipment allottments are always based on the internal forecasts.
Oh yeah, I guess. I'm most interested though to see how the PC and XBO versions stack up again the PS3 version though. It'll probably be very close.

I bet PS3 version sold more than XB1's, mostly because of Japan.I guess:
PS4: 2M
PC: 420K
XBO: 300K
PS3: 250K
360: ~30K
For comparison's sake, Konami shipped 3.94M copies of MGS4 between the game's launch on 6/12/08 and the end of Konami's fiscal quarter (6/30/08). So MGS4 did 3.94M in 18 days, MGSV has done 3M in a week-ish.
That should be enough to make the game profitable, no? Why was Konami freaking out over the budget? Granted some quick and dirty math shows that it cut close to just breaking even, but still
Especially considering MGS4 cost $70 million.
After 8 years of inflation $70 million Is basically $80.
I wouldn't be surprised if MGS5 ends up as the best-selling entry.
Especially considering MGS4 cost $70 million.
"It's being written in recent news that MGS4's budget was over 5 billion [yen] or 7 billion [yen]," Imaizumi tweeted. "It didn't cost that that much." If it cost that much, Imaizumi added, the game would've become multi-platform.
So edgyFirst MGS with gameplay that's actually half decent, so good for you Konami.
going by your post it would show MGS4 was doing better. MGS4 = 1 platform MGSV = 5 platforms. For comparison's sake, Konami shipped 3.94M copies of MGS4 between the game's launch on 6/12/08 and the end of Konami's fiscal quarter (6/30/08). Shipped or sold?

Put one digital sale down for me. Honestly, these days physical numbers just don't tell the correct picture. Anyone else buy digitally?
"So we're still firing that Metal Cog guy at the end of the year, yeah? Cool, cool."
In other news, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series has now exceeded 90 million units worldwide.
It's crazy how well they sell despite missing critical league licenses. In other news, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series has now exceeded 90 million units worldwide.
how do we know any of this?I guess PS3 sold more than PC / One / 360, because it's PS3. And 360 has to be the least selling version, and PS4 the most selling version.
I accidentally did. :xI doubt many people did that.
I hope it continues to sell well, otherwise Konami may get disillusioned with console sales and leave the industry.
