I'm not comfortable with a Bond song NOT named after the movie it's featured in, but I'll wait to listen to it before making a judgement
This one turned out pretty darn good.
Helps when you've got an EGOT winner writing the song though.

Just glad it's not Ellie Goulding. That would have been a travesty.
The words "The Spy Who Loved Me" do appear in that song, though.
I think this person deserves a bigger "Who", than Sam Smith.Exactly!
Conchita even has the voice and delivery to pull this off. It would be so dramatic and awesome.

Two of the last three haven't been. You Know My Name was brilliant.

Didn't she take a break to have a child? It's not that she's no longer relevant, it's just that she wants some time out of the spotlight for the sake of her kid.
The quality of her work has never really diminished. She's always taken her time with things. There's no doubt that her next album will be as good as her last two.
What makes you think Adele is forgotten?
Adele hasn't relased any new music since Skyfall in 2012.
She has a new album coming out this year and it'll be big.
Is this real?Chorus lyrics are out!
Writing's on the wall,
When it crumbles,
We will stand tall,
Face it all together

We will stand tall,
Face it all together
At wordwall,
At wordwall
Oh, I just assumed so because she never had any hits in recent years. If she decided to become a mother then that's cool but I doubt she will ever reach the same popularity as before.
notsureifserious.gifIs this real?
It's almost like a joke how cliched and similar it looks like skyfall.
Need to cash in his relevancy as he will be forgotten in a couple years, similar to Adele.

From Goldfinger (can't decide if From Russia with Love count here or not) to Die Another Day there were 17 movies over 4 decades, only 3 movies didn't have their song named after the movie.
In the Daniel Craig era, Skyfall is the exception to the rule, so yeah, I think there's definitely a trend here.
And let maybe expand a bit on this issue here, like, I don't think it's the end of the world or anything, but I think that James Bond mostly work because of tradition, and yeah, I think it's kinda cool to having these songs that immediately evoke memory of the movie, even if it's on the nose.
Now yeah, you can break with those traditions if it can improve your movie (I think the Craig Bonds have played with it, sometime successfully sometime not) but really, let's not act like we're dealing with lyrical masterpieces that we can't work the name of the movie into them.
Not even The Man With The Golden Gun, All Time High, Die Another Day, Another Way to Die or Skyfall?Sam Smith is boring, but hopefully its a good song. i dont think i hate any of the bond themes yet
Some of you guys kill me. I can't even fathom how it's possible to be so culturally oblivious. It's frankly nothing short of stunning.
but it was suppose to be Lana Del Ray
People are hating on Sam Smith but wanted Ellie Goulding of all people?
Ugh. Worse than choosing Adele. Looks like Chris Cornell will forever be the holder of the best Craig era theme.
Years later and I still love listening to this.Disagree. The Quantum of Solace's proposed theme is still the best in the Craig era.

So not a silly goose, is the song releasing in roughly an hour or can you only pre-order it then?

There have been a number of male singers and male bands that have performed.I always thought Bond theme song singers were female. Like some sort of unwritten rule. Did I miss something?
