At what kind of event do you guys think the GT7 reveal will take place? Is it a Japan thing or a Gamescom/Paris Games Week kind of deal.

EU is much more fitting.

GT6 was unveiled at Silverstone, at the 15th anniversary celebration of GT brand.

TGS isn't looking likely for GT7 as it's currently rumored that he's going to be attending the Frankfurt Auto Show, which takes place during TGS. Although he could still attend the press conference and then fly there afterwards, but he wouldn't be around to demo it and do interviews.

It just says "Have you finished your summer vacation homework yet?" Lots of people are responding they can't because of PS4/Vita/Sony. :P

Not sure if it's indicating anything Boku no Natsuyasumi related, but Millennium Kitchen has been super quiet since Attack of the Friday Monsters, and the time feels right for a new entry. :3

I was just reading something else and remembered that Sony had the creator of Boku on one of the streams earlier this year

Beyond that, while Ayabe’s career has been predominantly defined by games that take place squarely in the past, he expressed interest during the panel in making a game that takes place in the future while still tinged with the trademark sense of nostalgia that’s come to define his works.

And some other stuff from the same stream

Doko Demo Issyo

In response, he laughingly said, “Toro’s been out of the public eye lately, so I’d definitely like to do something with him again. If SCE lets me, that is.” When pressed for what he would make if he hypothetically got the chance to work on a game featuring Toro and his friends again, he replied that he would target PlayStation 4 and that, given the console’s renewed focus on game functionality, make it one that could be played a lot.

Wild Arms

Meanwhile, though the Wild Arms panel officially featured producer Kentaro Motomura as the guest of honor, a letter that came in from series creator Akifumi Kaneko that was read aloud. Though much of it is spent discussing the music of the game, towards the end, Kaneko also wrote, “No matter how small it gets, I intend to keep the flame alive for the Wild Arms series and right now I’m working on my own in the shadows on things. I know it’s not exactly what all of the fans are hoping to hear per se, but your responses to today’s broadcast will help make that flame bigger and put some winds in my sails, I believe. I remain as grateful as can be for all the love and support Wild Arms continues to get even in 2015, but I think for now, I better end it on that note.”

Motomura further elaborated on Kaneko’s letter, adding, “We’re well aware that people are hoping for a new entry in the series and we’ve never gone on record saying that it was ever finished. We don’t plan to quit working on it and are hoping that somehow we can revive it sometime down the road, so hopefully I’ll have something to announce eventually if the chance presents itself.”

Now seems like a perfect time for a Wild Arms revival given all the recent JRPG announcements for the PS4.

What are the chances of Konami doing a good one for fans and announcing Suikoden 6? Or am I just being delusional in something like that ever happening.

That "Rivals" part sounds like a good name for such a game, but "Hardware"?

Already beaten but yeah, an old PS2 game by SCE London called Hardware: Online Arena (I even mentioned this in the Japanese trademark thread, though it's unlikely)

I hope it's not a sequel tbh. I'd like one but it's a bit too early.

I'd rather they let a couple more first party games get pushed out first. Releasing it after the new GOW and Uncharted games can't hurt. And they'll also probably have a better pick of PS4 characters by then (instead of just Knack and idk a Bloodborne character)

Have you taken your own advice?

*Reads the article again.* yup I have.

Unless you are talking about something else. Then I have no clue what the fuck you are talking about.

They should take their fine time on it. I really want them to address all the issues on where the original fell short.

I want more character interactions with each other. Kinda like how in marvel vs capcom 3, some of the characters poke fun on each other. I think that would be pretty rad if the PS characters did it while they would be battling.

Presentation needs to be improved from the 1st one.

I mean I got lot to say on whats need to be done. But I think I should save that for another time.

The article that says this?
It is unlikely this “Hardware: Rivals” trademark is related, but it’s the only connection we could make.
You're making it sound like "Hardware Rivals" is definitely that PS2 IP when it isn't at all.

Im assuming its the next itteration of the Hardware franchise.

If you are coming at me and trying to tell me that this will be the replacement name of psas2 then.. I honestly think thats just silly and a pretty odd name. Well..... unless if its a code namd like title fight.

I didn't say anything about "psas 2." You told others to read the article when the article itself is saying that "Hardware Rivals" is likely unrelated to the game that you're claiming it is. That's what I'm talking about.

Why is it likely to be unrelated? Because it's TGS?

I personally don't think it's related because it has no reason to be. A few people are basing their speculation off of the word "Hardware," which is meaningless.

I'd like to know this too, it's just a trademark registered in Japan, we don't know if it'll be at TGS or even if it's a Japanese game. I somehow doubt it's a complete coincidence that Sony just happen to be re-using the Hardware name.

Holy crap calm down.

I done goofed. I read "unlikely" as "likey" twice.

Lol. This is what happens when I read things way pass my bedtime. 3 am here (this darn heat keeping me up)

ANYWAY, my main intent with the post was let others know it ain't have noting to do with psas 2.

Really wish I could've watched those streams (and that English subtitles were supplied so that I could understand what was being said!). I already knew about those BokuNatsu comments from Kaz, but it's really interesting to hear that the creator of DDI wants to make a new game in the series for the PS4, and one with more conventional gameplay at that. Would be a personal megaton to see that happen.

Here's the thing - are Sony really going to give the greenlight on projects like these in today's social media world? Ignoring Wild Arms, Boku and Doko are incredibly niche franchises that are heavily tailored toward Japanese audiences and no one else, yet Sony are more willing than ever to localise games that people ask for, whether it's through their Third Party Productions team or encouraging campaigning via the likes of Twitter. More than ever, niche games are being localised, but I think even the likes of the aforementioned IPs are too Japanese in flavour to have any hope of success overseas. And yet, Sony are going to get bugged about them a fair bit by their fanbase I bet. Is that a trap they want to fall into? Being pressurised into localising even their most niche Japanese productions, just because by today's standards we expect them to?

That's why I'm fairly skeptical on the prospect of getting a new Boku or Doko game. It's been, what, 5-6 or so years since either one of those franchises got a proper installment? A lot has changed since then.

So now Sony has two trademarks we don't know about Gnomageddon and Hardware: Rivals.
Things are getting interesting :)

Gnomageddon sounds like it will be another F2P game being published by Sony much like KillStrain.

Speaking of KillStrain did anybody get their code for the Alpha that was supposed to be given for attending Sony's E3 theater experience?

Last years conference they announced dynamic backgrounds a some update 2.0 features for the PS4.

This year they will reveal folders.

Yeah, September 15th is a tuesday so probably PS4 firmware 3.0 @ TGS

Paris Game Show October 27th (tuesday) for everything waiting on DRM which could be a firmware 4.0 (lots of features).

http://gamingbolt.com/ps4-firmware-3-0-will-have-more-features-than-the-leak-suggested-possibly-coming-soon-rumor said:
upcoming PS4 Firmware 3.00 will be launching far earlier than may have been expected before- it will also, supposedly, have more features than the leaks so far have let on. “3.0 will have more stuff then the leak suggests,” he said, before reiterating that there is more to the update than the leak has suggested. He also said that the update should be out within the next three weeks (from August 14th)

PS4 Firmware Update 3.00 is planned to be the next major feature update for the PS4- so far we have had three of those, and this new one is apparently slated to bring with it a whole host of new features. Whether or not any of Tidux’s insider reports are true is something that remains to be seen so take this report with a grain of salt.

On a side note he also teased that the Paris Games Week will possibly have some tasty announcements.
= 8th or 15th. 3.0 Beta is rumored for September 2 and I'd expect a 2 week beta period = 15th

Paris Games Week will possibly have some tasty announcements. So maybe no firmware update but they should at least announce media features and when they will be coming.

Apple Is About To Lay Down Its TV Cards

First, that the new Apple TV, as has been reported previously by Buzzfeed, will feature an updated design and Apple’s A8 chip in a dual-core configuration. The more powerful chip will support an updated interface with much better effects and navigational improvements that make browsing through big content libraries — one of my biggest wants — much easier. This will enable developers of games and other resource-intensive applications to produce higher quality and more demanding apps. Among the demos I’d expect to see on stage next month are content apps, games, and broadcast companies.

To control the new Apple TV? A new remote. It’s slightly bigger and thicker, with physical buttons on the bottom half, a Touchpad area at the top and a Siri microphone. The new remote will be motion sensitive, likely including several axis’ worth of sensors that put its control on par with a Nintendo Wii remote.

If Apple did indeed ‘delay’ the Apple TV from being released at WWDC, then it probably had a reason. And, if my sources are correct, that reason could well be polish, polish, polish. The experience of using it is said to blow away the types of junky smart TV interfaces we’ve had to deal with so far. This is the first real Apple TV product.

In addition to the convenience of downloading games directly from the Apple TV's built-in App Store, and controlling many of them via a new bundled remote control, Apple will also support more complex, console-style Bluetooth game controllers with the pressure-sensitive buttons and joysticks previously introduced for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

9to5mac reports today that the new Apple TV is likely to cost between $149 and $199, the final price has reportedly not been locked down yet, so we’ll only come to know for sure when the company unveils this product on stage next month September 9th at the iPhone event..

Multiple Game Consoles as Vidipath STBs are being released soon. Most have Xbox 360 performance levels. Sony and Microsoft should announce their plans soon.

While the fact that Sony is tackling on an IP that hasn't been touched since the PS2 is totally RAD. (Not to mention acquiring Shadow of the beast and Q*bert a while back.)

This has me feeling that this is a either an one time only, or they are going revive more old IPs.

It's quite comforting how people have accepted that this conference is going to be one of those weird, strange, and unsettling disappointments. The last two years have conditioned folks well. B-b-but TLG, Gravity, Level-5, Sega, and SE. B-b-but, shut up.

I'm so hype though. X-Men Legends 3. Let's go baby. Please.

This has me feeling that this is a one time only, or they are going revive more old IPs.
Yes.

"Blasts from the past". Blasts is plural.

Also, let's be real here for a second. How many old Sony IP do people actually like? Not pity like, but like, like?

What about GT7?

I think Sony is pretty much open to reviving any old IP as long as a dev team has a decent enough pitch for it. We saw it with Sly 4, Shadow of the Beast, and now Hardware Rivals.

So if someone wants to pitch a new Dark Cloud I'd really appreciate it.
