Precedent is what makes me most afraid for Level-5's games. It's all well and good saying you're going to make something amazing, but accomplishing the task is a different matter. I feel like they're developers who have made some solid games, but have yet to really make something that's truly great like one of the Final Fantasy games, or even some other RPG which is really good like Xenoblade on the Wii. Then there is the fact that White Knight Chronicles exists.

Obviously, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, and their game looks pretty good, but the end product is what matters. It's going to suck if they don't blow people away this time. You can't get back the time spent developing a game. What's done is done.

Verendus, I ask again, what about Monster Hunter coming to PS4?
What about it?

Edit:

I'm not aware of a MH PS4 announcement at this conference if that's what you mean. I expect MH PS4 to be announced next year. The proper one, and not the other one. It's not like anyone would care about that one anyway.

I want a jrpg... Set in space.
Plz... its my only wish. A good jrpg with memorable characters and cool locations. A nice soundtrack as well. Plz.

How dare you? WKC is awesome!

What's with the Legend of Dragoon posts? In what world is Sony ever going to be smart enough revive this beautiful IP again? Same with Alundra.

That was Monster Hunter Frontier Online 2, I think http://gematsu.com/2015/03/rumor-monster-hunter-frontier-online-2-in-development-for-ps4-pc

Or not...

Yeah, that would blow my mind. Tri-ace's GE demo was so close to what I want a space Jrpg to look like, untill they announced SO5. Or something like Xenosaga space-operish setting would do it for me.

Star Ocean. Sigh I still play Star Ocean 3 occasionally. I loved reading about the lore of the spaceships and battles.

Was it? Was it? Was it really?

Actually, don't answer that. You're going to say it was, and I'm going to be incredulous again, and it's going to never end.

lol

That's no different than what I've said before.

What can you tell me about Colony Wars, is it coming back?? Please say yes!

If this is true I'm going to assume ( and keep assuming) this will be one of the first multiple platform MH games ( between two systems not tied together). I'm curious how that will go down.

All I want from Sony this gen.

realistic hope:

Bloodborne 2 (more weapons and build diversity)

unrealistic hope :( :

Crash Bandicoot 4

w-we...we can expect a bloodborne 2, right? It did pretty well for an exclusive new ip, right?

I NEED BLOODBORNE 2

I'd be perfectly happy with a Twisted Metal game announcement. Some new Last Guardian footage. Maybe a Playstation All-Star Team Racing (based on CTR) game. The release date for The Tomorrow Children. And a PS1/PS2 BC announcement.

That's it. I'm easy to please.

That was quite impressive. I think Sucker Punch could benefit from playing with something a little more stylized. It could add a lot of flair. Distinctive design, to an extent, could assist with making things feel more unique.

Supposedly they like being "small and manageable" - not sure if that comes from execs in PR fashion or from within (real) but Infamous Second Son showed they're pretty understaffed. The co-op section in First Light should of been on disc day one. I am pretty sure the idea was cut and rebranded as DLC due to the initial release schedule. Not to mention what you said earlier about "life" in the open world.

I think Shadow Hearts was that one project that could end up not happening. And Suikoden will get scrapped. They are too good for this world.

Didn't Bloodborne sell a million copies within 10 days? I'd say that a sequel is guaranteed. My only concern is with Miyazaki and From burning themselves out.

Who even owns the rights to Shadow Hearts now?

Same people as before, the publisher. It was called Aruze before, but was renamed Universal Entertainment Corp in 2009. They're a pachislot company and hold no stake in the console business anymore. Their wikipedia page even says "Aruze are also the licence holder of the video game franchise Shadow Hearts" like it's the only thing that truly matters about them.

Universal Entertainment. Some of the developers who worked on the series are scattered at some other companies however.

Yep. A bunch of them joined Feelplus, which got absorbed into AQ Interactive, which got absorbed into Marvelous. Covenant's director Matsuzo Machida floated around for a while IIRC, but I think he might be with Marvelous now, because he was a writer on Ninety-Nine Nights II.

Who gives a shit about Suikoden and Shadow Hearts? I demand a new .hack.

...Not only did you insult the GOAT franchise, but you did it to put over a trash one? Log off, bruh.

Actually: IS Suikoden 6 still happening, Verendus? There was that article that said one stalled, but it was written in a way to make me think that they were just saying all games at Konami stalled for a bit. They even said they didn't know if there was a new one or not.
