Sony TGS 2015 Conference [Over]

Awesome conference. A lot to look forward to and hopefully with the price cut, the PS4 will see a resurgence in Japan.

The most impressive thing about this conference is the fact that it was good WITHOUT a lot of big announcements we were hoping for. EG: Level-5, Sony JRPG, DMC5, RE7, etc.

That speaks volumes in my opinion!

That last thirty minutes should've been integrated into the conference. Instead of "game, game, game" for sixty minutes you could've mixed some of that stuff in.

Also: Did we imagine the Level-5 title? Like, maybe it's not real?
Nope it was aweosme to see that barrage of games.

Good show. Found it hard to keep up with the announcements at times, they came so fast. My own fault, but I can't help but be a little disappointed with no Level-5 showing or any indication of what those PS2-on-PS4 games were about. I guess there's time for those in future, of course. Still two more press conferences before the year is out.

That ad at the end raised my spirits somewhat, though.

Not really worth it to give such posts attention. It was terrible? Yeah, in what Galaxy?

Still..i dont see how one could come away not hyped for atleast one thing.

Ni Oh looks awesome. Gravity Rush looks awesome, Toukiden looks awesome, day one on KH 2.8(dont pull no 2.9 shit on me square), Dragon Quest Heroes 2 looks great, Aegis Rim looks amazing, will buy that BB DLC.....i literally do not understand

Really happy about DR3 PS4, Bloodborne DLC and Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Upset about no P5 but later in the week it gets its own show so I can't complain too much.

PS Vita is on twitter most trending now

I agree. The show was a gamer's paradise! The price drop, however, is going to be a game changer for them!

Thank god I could catch it on Twitch - leave it to Sony to announce a press conference Youtube stream on their German blog which is then not available in Germany due to the usual copyright debacle. Who plans these things?!?

The interesting stuff to me were:

  • Everybody's Golf trailer and release year
  • Gravity Rush announced for PS4, alongside Gravity Rush 2 trailer
  • Yakuza 1 HD remaster and Yakuza 6 announcement, though they probably won't come to the West.
  • Dragon Quest Builders release date, so hopefully we'll get a Western release date soon.
  • New colors for the Dual Shock 4 controller.
  • Final Fantasy XIV supports VR.

I were disappointed by:
  • No announcement of Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster
  • Tekken 7 were once again absent
  • Persona 5 were missing, but Atlus have their own event, so to be expected
  • No Level-5 RPG game reveal
  • HDD cover plates were announced, but none with franchise branding or cool designs.

This conference was ridiculously good. The best TGS in years. The only thing that was missing was Deep Down.

Calling it something as arbitrary as II.8 sure as hell implies that there will be a II.9, lol

Apart from the Dragon Quest stuff, there was nothing from this show that blew my mind or made me loose my shit. Seeing as the only thing I was waiting for was the SFV character reveal, it's fair to say Capcom really let me down.

Decent show otherwise. Glad so many people got hyped for all the things shown off here. The last 30 minutes were weak as fuck though.

A possible summary for sony conference could be:
Everyone(SE, Bamco, TK etc) make games(exclusives included) for Vita ... except Sony.

A very good show though.

Bloodborne DLC, Gravity Rush 2, Danganronpa 3 on PS4 (DREAM COME TRUE!!), Ni-Oh, and Vanillaware's new game made this an epic show for me. Honestly just as excited as I was watching E3. Throw in the rebirth of the JRPG genre on console, I don't think I've ever been happier as a gamer.

That whole first hour was fantastic. Some ok news sprinkled here and there during the last 1/2 hour, but it mostly just fizzled over. Overall it was still great. Lots to get hyped about.

That first hour was godly. I got everything Gravity Rush I wanted in that hour too :)

I thought Horii would show some DQ11 to give the PS4 hype machine another bit of a boost to help offset the slower second half.

Of the publisher sections I expected Namco Bandai to show more stuff especially, they even had stuff already announced they could have shown some new footage of.

Weak ending, but a lot to be jazzed about from this one.

Gravity Rush 2
One Piece: Burning Blood
13 Sentinels: Aegis RIM
SaGa Scarlet Grace
Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue

I'm hype.

Say what you want, but Vita seems to have a great 2016:

Setsuna
Saga
13 Sentinels Aegis Rim
Toukiden 2
World of FF
DQ Builders
DQ Heroes 2
J-Stars: One Piece thing
Dangan 3
Gundam VS (bamco will refuse to localize this)

In fact, Vita lineup looks far better than 3DS one. Would have been even better if Vita had KH 2.8 and Yakuza Kiwami too.

DR3, Bloodborne DLC, 3D HD, and Geralt the Samurai? This was a good conference.
Ni Oh looks rudimentary as fuck, the only reason people are giving it shine is because the lead is looks like Geralt on account of the white haired Caucasian thing. It will most likely lack the euro jank of witcher but so far it looks basic as fuck as if they continued development after an 8 year hiatus.

-There was way more titles than I expected. Like a new announcement per minute, crazy fast paced.

-Expected a brand new title from Japan Studio

-What exactly was shown which Verendus has been teasing for the last 2 years? Where's the JRPG's, Sega collabs etc?

-Why do people expect Persona 5 to be here when it has it's own event coming up.

+ Gravity Daze HD Port 12/06 this year
+ Gravity Daze 2 (hnnnnggg)
+ Ni OH (looked good)
+ Bloodborne DLC
+ Price Drop
+ Resident Evil Umbrella Corp

- Persona 5 release date relagated to their event. Press pass for sure....
- No Tomorrow Children release date still?
- Level 5 AAA E3 Game?
- Studio Japan w/ only one title announced??? 400 in staff.....
- TLG update???
- SFV character reveal?????

You know, I guess it should be expected but also I was slightly surprised by nothing on Deep Down....unless I missed it.

Overall, this was one of the best conferences in recent memory. Some unexpected revivals, sequels that look better than expected, new stuff altogether, and most importantly, DANGANRONPA 3.

Hell, I would have been happy with just the latter, but now I have like 10 new games to look forward to (provided they get localized, but I'm not worried about most of them).

Soooooooo many RPGs yet did not feature the ones I most wanted to hear about (FFXII HD, KH3, Persona 5). But really end endless supply of RPGs, and that's just 2016 stuff. Things fell off toward to end but we need to remember that this is much more a presentation for investors. It's designed to have all the thrills of a colonoscopy compared to E3.
Announcements:
- I can do this!
- But no Persona 5 or SFV so I really can't.
Outstanding TLDR.

Bloodborne expansion and Gravity Daze elevated this conference to great heights. Whomever is saying this conference sucked must just be looking for attention.

Great conference for me.

Bloodborne DLC later this year, Gravity Rush 2 looks amazing on PS4 and is coming next year (remaster of the original this year), new Hot Shot Golf looked pretty cool and it's also coming in 2016.
Ni Oh was definetly the biggest surprise of the show to me, it's back from the dead and it looks like the next gen Onimusha we all wanted =)
Yakuza 6 only on PS4 is amazing news, same for the remake of the original.
Danganrompa 3 for Vita/PS4 is an other must have for me.
More stuff from Square Enix including the new KH Collection.
Price drop confirmed is an other great news.

Persona was missing but they have an event for that....if they spoiled the news today it would have been pointless.
Level 5 was sadly missing, don't know why maybe they aren't ready.
The Last Guardian might have some suprise update during the show considering the teaser on Twitter.
