Yes, I don't get why the US version is 60$ and the EU version is 70 WTF? How did that even add up in someones head at Activision?
Can people buy the Legendary Edition in the US PSN and play it on EU without problems?

Yes, your character is linked to PSN account and on Bungie's server. That's why you can view them online at bungie.net, jump between playing on PS3<->PS4, etc. (No cross-play between PSN and XBL though)

Is the Legendary Edition of TTK disc just the vanilla Destiny disc or does it have the 2.0 patch built into the disc? Hoping to play with a friend who's just jumping aboard tonight, but if he's going to have to download the 18gb 2.0 patch, that probably won't happen.

It's just a regular disc, the 18gb dl is necessary for anyone looking to play the game.

US$60 or 70 is the MSRP for basically all AAA titles at launch on the digital stores. And yes, you can buy games from another store since PS4 games are not region locked. But note that DLC is. Meaning if you buy a game from the XX store, you'll be forced to buy the DLC from the same store in the future.
You can't have a EU copy of Destiny and buy DLC from the US store for example.
Nah the last time I bought US releases the prices in the EU and US Store were numerically the same but the conversion rate made it cheaper in the US :|

Bungie said themselves in a video that most of the people who quit did so once they hit level 20... and they talk about the new level system and 40 cap as an apology for not doing it right in the first place...

Aren't the Suros from the Vanguard Quartermaster those that were available early when you pre-ordered the original Destiny?
I'm pretty sure they said that the new Suros weapons were legendary weapons.

These are level 25. Also it was just Vanguard weapons and armor for the original. Now it's Vanguard and Suros weapons.
Thanks for that. I played the game for hundreds of hours and didn't know about 80% of the story in the video.
So many new things, so many new toys! I did the Veterans quest (Rahool gave me a Red Death, that tricky fellow!) the first new story quest and then my 2 subclass quests. This put me about midway through 35.
Once I had my subclass unlocked I went to the tower and opened my mailbox full of Public Event packages and that let me hit 40.
Still trying to wrap my head around all the new stuff but I can absolutely say that the first story mission is ace. Loved the music, loved the atmosphere, loved the tension.
Can't wait to do more!

Not the same as before because Light level is averaged across all your weapons and armor and have a far smoother progression scaling curve.
Let's say you had 119 Light pre 2.0; this made you level 29. Reaching level 30 would have required 120 Light. You were just 1 Light short, but it made no difference; you were a level below. A character sitting at 108 Light and a character at 119 Light would both be the same for the game: a level 29. And as a level 29, you'd have a 33% damage penalty running level 30 content. That's pretty major: you do a lot less damage and you die much more quickly.
Now you have an average score across all your armor and weapons, using the same scale. If you're 1 or 2 Light below a given activity's recommended level, this no longer means you're out of luck and at an arbitrary huge disadvantage. Smaller steps in the progression path are meaningful now, every little bit helps. Compared to the old system where gaining light offered nothing until it brought you to the next level, it's a more flexible system.
Also, it unifies the scales for the quality level of armor and weapons. No longer is the max 365 for weapons and 42 Light for Armor (which also had a meaningless Defense stat). Now it's all on the same scale, and instead of being additive it's an average to make up for any weaker gear you haven't replaced yet.

Anyone get stuck on the first patrol mission where you
. Specifically the part where says tsken eliminated. Looks like it wants me to go across the area that had platforms in the earlier missions but they aren't spawning. No idea what to do.

No, you can get a quest after doing the first story mission from whoever your Vanguard class representative is. No need to wait until you hit level 40.

Your previous marks just converted to commendations, which grant you 250 rep each. They converted at 50 marks per 1 commendation.
Everyone started anew with zero legendary marks today.
Uhh I live in France and this is the reason I use the US store exclusively. Even on Amazon the MSRP for a PS4 game is 70, and it's the same for all launch AAAs on the digital store since forever.

It's silly but not particular to this release. Luckily at retail prices go down quick. On digital you have to wait for a sale.
They gave me the MonteCarlo which I already had, but I already had every exotic except the Dredg Handgun from Skolas. At least it is the 170 version.
If you have a physical copy of Vanilla Destiny, you can trade it in at Gamestop and get $20 off the Taken King (so Total amount will be ~$40.).
Those green weapons are more powerful than your exotics

I was playing last night before the update, received a few green engrams while doing a story mission, and when I got them decoded, I received rep points, but no items. This is the second time this has happened over the last week. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm going to sit here at work all day refreshing this topic and wishing I was home...
So I'm wasting my time and life(?) trying to do a quest I just got?

I agree, the design of some quests are questionable... no better than some of the worst bounties that have been around since day 1.

you don't "collect" digital content. It is a misnomer. Collector's editions are for people who want physical trinkets and special cases, etc. This is just cosmetic stuff they are holding behind a paywall for no reason.

Now that Factions don't have stat split differences like Year 1 (e.g. New Monarchy was INT/STR), I don't know what faction to pledge.
