Heads up to those of you buying the :Taken King Legendary Edition or the PS4!

Best Buy in their weekly ad is giving out t-shirts to every person who buys a copy. ONLY INSTORE

BUT:

Mine were not in the front or by customer service or even in the gaming section.

They had them on a table in the Home Theater Section, by the TVs Section (might be at the center back table for your store for TVs, mine was not in Magnolia)

And of course Gamer's Club Unlocked is 20%, so $48+ tax game and tshirt if that tempts any of you

My store only seemed to have L and XL, and they only had about 10 total shirts, so just in case.

That combined with the TIV for the TTK edition $34 at Amazon was a no brainier for me to buy now, ill just keep my Vanilla Destiny Disc and use the DLC

48-34 = 14+tax for DLC and shirt!

i've been a ridiculously vocal Destiny hater for the last year, but after a few of the new missions, I'm loving this expansion so far.

never thought I would see this said about Destiny. How are they improved over the base game?

Well, for one they aren't always doing the same "ghost scans and then you have to kill waves of enemies" thing. They are pretty diverse with different mechanics in most of them.

Even the more "tradicional" ones are better paced with interesting encounters and usually a boss fight at the end.

They are way, way better than the vanilla ones. And the ending is pretty epic.

I plan to pick up TTK before I head out on holiday in a few weeks time but all these changes and updates i'm seeing on streams is great, the way loot drops from strike bosses now, improving strikes, the dreadnaught design, the new weapons where blues can now be stronger then a purple not making them useless any longer, it's all great stuff.

I can't wait

Been scanning through this thread and have yet to see a single negative comment by someone who's played TTK. Was going to wait for reviews but Gaf is heaping praise on this. Decisions decisions.

Can someone explain in explicit detail how I can get legendary marks and where in the game's UI I go to engage in those activities? Also, whether those activities have any prerequisites and what they are.

If you liked Destiny this is an improved version of that on pretty much all fronts.

If you didn't like I'm not sure it would change your mind. It really depends on your stance of the vanilla game I think.

The only negative I can say is that that new big MP map on Earth sucks. At least for control. It takes way too long to get to the control points after spawning.

Yeah it's what the game should've shipped as. Sucks they couldn't entirely redo the vanilla story in this format.

I love(d) destiny, despite its flaws. But a lot of Bungie and Activision stuff post-release really turned me off. Basically, I'm looking at an ex that took me for granted that wants to get back together, but now I have trust issues.
I'm buying it on payday this week :)

I have the same options. I'm leaning towards using the Spark of Light for the Titan for the class abilities and then taking my time with the entire story for the Warlock.

For soloing the story, either Titan (Defender) or Warlock (Sunsinger) are fine. I'd lean towards the Warlock for solo play as the self-res is great if you mess up.

I'd really like to know this too. It's all a bit confusing right now

Played for about 7 hours today. It's a vast improvement over vanilla Destiny in every way. The cutscenes and story are actually well done & interesting. Missions have engaging encounters. Dreadnaught patrol feels like it has far more secrets to unravel than any of the original patrols ever did. The questlines I've played thus far are rewarding.

I've still got a lot to play, but so far TTK really feels like a massive step in the right direction.

It's not just "be level 40, do crucible and strikes"?

Do you no longer get a package when leveling up your Vanguard reputation upon meeting a new rank? I hit Level 10 and got nothing

Well I'm not level 40 yet so I can't tell.

These activities are how you get them:
Legendary Marks are now earnable by completing Daily Story Chapters, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily PVP Activities, Weekly PVP Activities and Dismantling Year Two Legendary items

And you apparently need to be lvl 40.

Boy, blue engrams sure fall from the sky like crazy now. I think I've had a good 20+ drop from playing today. I like!
Remember how few dropped in the beginning?

Back when we used to have to shoot into a hole hoping for a blue to drop, to then have it robbed from you by the cryptarch?

These kinderguardians have it easy now a days.

So for example with the Daily PVP Activities, you only get Marks once a day, not every game right?
