Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

Fuck me sideways, this is sooo good. This is everything I wanted Destiny to be and more.

My post history reveals some pretty harsh Destiny hate, but Bungie has won me over. This expansion is some of the best sci-fi content I have ever consumed. New new missions are really well done. This is the real deal. This is what they promised Destiny would be.

And also, thank you Bungie, for indulging in Lovecraftian horror with The Dreadnaught. It's one of my favorite areas in any game. Full of mystery and terrible wonders, impossible shapes and purpose beyond our understanding. Fantastic cosmic horror.
 
Ok im sure this has been answered, but if I log in with my high level character first, will I not get the spark of light? Should I log in with my level 2 warlock 1st?
 
Has anyone poked through the old story missions? Are they largely unchanged or did they revise them enough to at least be entertaining for a replay?

You'll get it on whatever character you log in first. It's just an item at the postmaster. If you log in with a high level character first just throw it in the vault so your other character can grab it.

I believe the only thing changed is the Ghost voice and the structure of how the missions are ordered/progressed through via the new quest system, to help the narrative through-line. But the actual missions themselves are identical. A few of the strikes have been "remixed" as part of the new playlist though.

When I read it on the Playstation Blog, the edition that came with the PS4 was supposed to have the emotes. It was very detailed what came with what, and the emotes were definitely included. It's why I jumped on the LE console so fast, because it was supposed to give me everything outside of the physical rewards the CE did. I read it multiple times just to make sure. And now the US Blog is down.

I'm finally intrigued, what can I NOT do if I solo this game?? I'm not antisocial, I just have a hankering for an epic solo story. The last time I had this hankering Borderlands was my go to. (Or I could try to push further in blood borne, but I keep dying :) )
 
As a single player game, is TTK good? I'm level 25 and only just finished the main story and The Dark Below. Haven't played the raid or HoW.

The best part of Destiny are the raids so you need a fireteam of 6 people, the story missions are fun single player but you really should do the raids. But you need PS+

I plan to do that all, just haven't had time. Only started playing the game on and off back in July.

Have PS+ of course.

Read the Books of Sorrow Grimoire series for backstory on the Dreadnaught/Oryx if you're into Lovecraftian horror!
 
Don't know if this has been asked or answered but here it goes.

Turned level 40 this morning and my artifact slot for my titan is still locked. I don't think i've received any kind of artifact from the Vanguard. All my friends told me they got one early on after completing one of the early story missions.

So, is this a known issue or something? how do i get an artifact?

It wasn't in your game case right? From the site:
"Perfect for both new players and players new to PS4, the Limited Edition bundle comes with Destiny: The Taken King, Destiny, Expansion I: The Dark Below, Expansion II: House of Wolves and also includes three emotes, three shaders, and three class items from the Digital Collector’s Edition Upgrade."

Its even on the box. It says Plus Digital collectors edition upgrade.

Just finished TTK marathon and I have to say what an awesome expansion this is. So many secrets to find and unravel, loving it.

Any good ways to earn Legendary Marks once you hit 40? Or should I do the easier Strike Playlist for gear to get some light level so I can do the harder one?

What light level did you finish the story? I'm currently 2 hours in and only 183.

I got the entire top row and 5 into the second row. 13 bubbles filled 14 bubbles left. I am going to test waiting on turning in my bounties until i get the exotic class armor tonight. I think that boosts by 25%? Might only be for specific weapons though.

Stuck on 88% preparing to download for the patch. I bought TTK, but it didn't auto download. Hopefully it will download after patch.

I'm in New Zealand and the single code that game with my TTK PS4 Console (which was simply in the game case of Destiny Legendary edition) included everything in the one single code, according to my download list it has everything incl. the digital collectors edition.

I'm reading some scary things about game sharing The Taken King across Consoles. I have 2 PS4's, one of which is registered as the main console. My Fiancée has been able to play through Destiny with me co-op while i'm on another PS4, I simply log on as my account on that PS4 even though it isn't the 'master' PS4.
Under her account which is basically a child account, she received all the upgrades etc from the other DLC's that have been released, I really hope Bungie haven't changed this.

The "Preparing to Download" step shouldn't take this long. Dammit PSN. Hopefully it just has me DL the small patch when this nonsense finally finishes, since I was playing yesterday.

I just beat the last TTK story mission. I'm loving this DLC, I still have a lot to do.
I did not like the final encounter with Oryx however. It was too easy and it took away the "god" feeling I had about him. They should have left the encounter just for the raid which I'm sure Oryx full power will come into play.

I did and had a code for the Suros DLC and a 30 day Plus subscription. I'll just look over everything when I get home before I start asking out.

EDIT: No, that's not right. The Suros DLC was on the receipt. I'm just gonna shut up until I get home. LOL
