Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

Is there anything I can do if I'm on 3.50 but with no PSP games to use as a Basegame? Should I just go ahead and update, or are there any alternatives?

How does it look? It might be the only reason I do this trick, myself.

It looks reasonably okay on my plasma, but I'm looking at it as sort of a "PS2+" sort of thing. Really, it doesn't look all that great if you care much about image quality. I'm willing to make the sacrifice because as much as I like good image quality, I dislike playing on portables even more.

I've already beaten it (and Ys) though, so I'm not actually sure I'll use it all that much. The only other games I have are Tales of Hearts (natively supports it) and Gravity Rush (haven't played, but I'll wait for it on PS4). Maybe PSP games that aren't perfect on PPSSPP will be decent on PSTV, but that's a heck of a lot of stretching.

The system supports 480p though, if someone had one those 480p "HD CRTs" it might look really good. Might also be able to make PSP games look nice.

So yeah none of these tutorials have worked for me. I don't have VHBL installed currently so I follow the instructions for those without it and it nothing works. The base game doesn't launch and the custom themes just corrupt the default one.

Never knew about this, so thank you and in this case I would agree.

That being said, I don't think they should do stuff like this for trophies. I get trophies for me and only me. Isn't it supposed to be that way? Maybe I'm in the minority here and I can accept that. I guess my point about it being personal should also be a point against the trophy modding as well, what validation is gained from doing it through software and not real actions? Either way, I wouldn't do it and don't see why someone would but I could care less when they do, do it. Except in cases like you described.

Sounds like an admission of guilt. Why else would you have a problem with cheaters being caught and banned?

Yes, 100% right. My statement about saying trophies should be a source of personal validation is an admission of guilt. Im glad you thought through my clever scheme, it feels so good to get this out into the open and off my chest.

Anyways, I'm sure these wouldn't be validated when a review occurred for incidents like the one above. I would hope not at least cause thats lame if it did get through.

We need to wait for Mr. Gas and Major Tom release their custom bubble method (not the one on Hackinfomer), if Qwikrazor is to be trusted. Once they have, you'll be able to create bubbles much more easily, and Qwikrazor is going to release his version of ARK.

I honestly would recommend to just relax and wait for everything to unfold. Right now the scene is on fire and everyone's going around screaming and shouting :P

I'm glad someone figured out how to whitelist games. I'm going to use my pstv a lot more now. I actually just ordered another 16gb memory card.

Also, changing regions means I could import games now? I actually gave up on this years ago. I need to find a list of the best vita/PSP/PSone games never released in europe. Most of all jrpgs.

...the vita is fully region free. you have always been able to do that.

Quoting myself from the old page.

Is this possible now?

Not without a PS3 or downloading it from somewhere else.

There's PSP mode stuff that should run it. Check these out:

Ah, I just checked on my Vita and checked the firmware... it's on 3.36. Do I upgrade to 3.52 or is there benefit to staying on the older one?

Has anything been released about switching accounts?
It was in the initial list of features that are coming but I can't find anything about to actually do it.

been trying for over an hour now to get vhbl working via the exploit.

given up.

edit: what the fuck, its just appeared. hahahaha

edit edit: it doesn't seem to work though...it just instantly quits.

Who cares? Does it really matter to someone else what trophies someone else has?

I don't see it as a big deal.
If a lot of people starts getting free trophies, then trophies will lose value. Now they represent effort you've put in a game, time spent, etc...

If it's easy to hack them, trophies will lose their value. Wether you unlock them or not, they won't serve as proof of having achieved anything.

Hacking trophies sadly is imo as bad as piracy in how homebrew is seen by others in the gaming community.

I don't agree with it.

It's always been the case though. On 360, the save editors came out quick and the PS3 unlockers have been out for a long while in CFW. I don't think conditions for things to make a sound effect on a screen ever had any more value as to actual seeing your progress in a game, but they've been able to be unlocked for a long while already.

I do go for some platinums when I really enjoy a game as I then have more to do and it's nice to have those objectives, but that doesn't put any value on them.

I disagree with the trophy hacking being a thing myself. As an achievement hunter on Xbox and occasional trophy hunter on the Vita I always discourage cheating or hacking your achievements/trophies, but linked it for those that want to nonetheless.

Also, I can't get VHBL working either. Not sure how you can create the correct path EBOOT.PBP using only the pspemu directory. Will keep thinking about it.

Awwww shit. All my saves are deleted. I don't know how.

I've got most backed up but not danganronpa. Fuuuuuck, I had just got to island 4 on my new playthrough of 2. Goddamnit.

Hmmm...seems rather difficult.

It's not. The problem I'm running into is sending the dumped files back to the system. #0 with no file extension on windows 10 will make it a blank looking file on explorer but it isn't an image in the e-mail app.

Apparently they want you to resest the e-mail app or something which seems counter-intuitive for doing what this is wanting to do.

So I can't even get through the first step. Clicking on the app.db link on my vita just gives me a "file too large" error and closes the email app. Am I missing something?

Would someone point me in the right direction to solve a want I've had for quite some time?

My ask - I want to move the PSN version of Phantasy Star Portable 2 from my PS3 to a PlayStation TV and play the damn game on a Television.

At a high level, what steps need to occur in order to make this happen?
