I'd say Gone with the wind is my favourite but the only other civil war movies I can think of are Glory and Cold Mountain.

On the Glory/Gettysburg,

Glory is a typical Hollywood Civil War movie.

Gettysburg is more of a project from a guy who loves the subject getting free reign to go nuts in content.

Very different, the latter is more enjoyable if you're interested/invested in the subject. Glory is far more digestible.

The Spirit of the Beehive since it focus, among other things, on the outcome without hammering it home.

Also Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone.

I've always wanted to know I watched a civil war movie ages ago and i can't remember what it was.

There was a scene in the movie where there was a bomb in the ground and a bunch of solders are on the bomb as it's exploding. The ground swells before it explodes.

anyone know?

jup Glory is pretty good. Haven't seen Gettyburg yet.

I do love that ken burns documnetary though. goddamn what a fucking tragedy and yet a necessary war.
